Very poor service, food price to quality and quantity poor. Made to feel like we were not welcomed and they we really not very busy. Reservation was at 8:30 and didn’t get main course till 10
Was a little hesitant after some reviews but we were so glad we went ahead and made plans to have dinner at Brock's. Not really "fine dining" Others were dressed very casual which is fine with me. Great service, food was great. Wine selection nice. Will go back every time we are at Ross Bridge.
The service was poor at both breakfast and dinner. The dinner menu that was given to us had items on it that were not available. The wine menu was missing the cocktail menu. One person at our table had items on her menu that were not on the rest. It was not a very good experience.
Enjoyed our dinner at Brock's; first time staying at Ross Bridge and great dinner outing!
My party and I were very disappointed in the service we received. We didn’t receive our food for about two hours after being seated. Our drink orders were taken shortly after being seated. Our food orders were not taken for over 45 minutes after receiving our drinks. I went and found the waitress and I was told she would be over to take our orders in about 2 seconds and she didn’t show up to take our party of 14 orders for another 15 minutes. My daughter ordered the mussels which tasted spoil and was brought to the waitress attention. Due to the food taking so long to receive the first time she didn’t order anything else and basically ended up not having dinner. I requested to speak with the manager after finally receiving our food. She said she would remove the cost of a 39.00 bottle of wine and had three deserts sent to the table to be shared by a party of 14. My bill alone was almost 600.00 along with around another 160.00 spent by my guest. I really felt more should have been done to make up for the poor service my guest and I received.
Took too long to get server but once we did he was good. Because we came in at 9:30pm it seemed like the rush has just left and everyone had shut down
The food was horrible on Valentine's night. The value of the food was a disgrace. The only think I could find that I might eat was a salad with added chicken and my Mr. had the beef ribs which were really small for 40.00. The vegetable was too hard and tough to eat. He wanted a Michelob and the waitress had to send upstairs for one. When it came to the table, it was in a glass. Those beers should come in a bottle. Very disappointed..
Staff were friendly however, they were very short staffed. Ambiance was not very good. It was very casual with high price. For a restaurant we’re one entree is priced $55, then one would be expecting white table clots...food was ok. I’d say it’s a better lunch venue than a dinner...or maybe good for a casual dinner...if you’d be willing to pay the price!
We celebrated Valentine’s at Brock’s & had the most outstanding meal. Truly outstanding food. We had a chicken dish & steak- the wine recommendations complimented the food wonderfully.
Our server was polite, but when we said “thank you”, he constantly responded with “no problem”. That response has no place in guest service.
Our food was well prepared and presented. The ambiance was pleasant. We will likely return and recommend this restaurant to friends and family.
Very pricey for small portions. Food was excellent just not worth the price. Not accommodating for bigger group. Wanted a round table and they wouldn’t allow it. No one sat in the table the entire time we were eating.
Food and service were very good for dinner and breakfast. Breakfast buffet was as good as I have had anywhere. Great attention to quality ingredients. Dinner was not cheap, but it was worth it. Since we were staying at the hotel, it was nice to have dinner and breakfast without having to brave Birmingham traffic. Will definitely eat here again.
Service was very slow to start, but was good once it began.
Way too much wine in the bucatini and the creme brûlée just wasn’t good but everything else was great.
The food was awesome - the place looked great! What a fantastic place to take a loved one!
The food and drinks were fine but the noise level was ridiculous as there was a Bachelorette party going on in the bar upstairs and for some reason the partition/doorway was kept open allowing all the noise into the dining room below.
I am vegan and there was nothing really on the menu. The server asked the chef and they said they could mix sides or they would love to be creative. Creativity worked. Awesome meal!! And they had vegan cheesecake for desert.
For a very expensive dinner the food wasn’t that great. My husband had the short rib and it was not done enough so it was tough. My seafood pasta had very little flavor. Overall it was a typical hotel dining experience of adequate quality for a high price. Wine selection was great though! Service was good though! Beware the menu changes every night so don’t count on things you see being on the menu that night.
Very good experience. Third time there for dinner. Nice ambience. Great wine selection. My husband loved his scallops over couscous dinner but my chicken Marsala was not very good. Chicken was over cooked and too salty. Dessert was very delicious- hazelnut chocolate something and the chocolate covered strawberries were wonderful. Love we can make reservations over open table- so convenient. Our service was top notch from hostess to waitress. Will be returning.
Wonderful meal, experienced staff, beautiful environment.
Our server, Erika I think, was outstanding, and the kitchen even sent us a tray of free chocolate-covered strawberries at the end of our meal, because I'd told them in the reservation notes that this was a hot date (and it was!). We were well taken care of, and my scallops and her risotto were delicious. It's easy to forget Brock's since it's part of the hotel, but it's a mistake to overlook what they offer.
My wife and I enjoyed dinner at Brocks. Service was good. Wine very satisfying. Spaghetti Bolognese was so so. In general, it was a nice evening.
We spent several days visiting Birmingham and tried a number of restaurants. Brock's was our favorite-its menu, quality of food, service, and atmosphere provided a relaxing and enjoyable evening. Our server, Kat, was especially delightful.
Hotel restaurant food. Nothing special. Had the tuna steak. The fish filet was not top qualt
Kids were running around everywhere screaming, the menu was hard to understand, it was limited and costly in comparison to the experience. The service was really good. I couldn’t help to feel like we were at Disney where the service is always good but the restaurant’s quality is poor and the children are wild.
Delicious elevated dining in a comfortable atmosphere.
This was my first dining experience at Brock's. Great food and service, but a little pricey. Still, it was an outstanding experience, and I would recommend to anybody looking for great food and atmosphere.
I have been here many times. It is always a delight. This time we ordered the full top and middle parts of the menu. Yep. Top and middle. We enjoyed ALL of it. I love the tapas here, and the antipasti is equally lovely.
This is one of my favorite places for food and service.
Brittany and Eric were fantastic.
Convenient if you are a guest at Ross Bridge but not much else to say about it. Our waiter was superb but the food was not worth the price.
So much potential, but falls short of the mark.
Saturday, 7/14/18, 8p.
Wife and I were seated immediately, restaurant was nearly empty (only 5 tables occupied), with a dull atmosphere.
Limited menu... NO beef dishes (steaks) at all! No specials. Pork tenderloin and lamb dishes were listed at $50.
Waitress was seemingly not well versed in the antipasti selections of meats or cheeses.
Service was otherwise fine.
Antipasti appetizer was very good. Flatbread and grouper dishes were OK. Wine selection is very good with reasonable prices.
Ross Bridge is a fantastic resort that deserves a better fine-dining, destination-type restaurant. We've spent a birthday weekend here for the past 9 years and every year we agree that Brock's is simply no where near a Perry's, Fleming's, Ruth's Chris, or other restaurant that we would normally go for a special dinner. Its simply convenient, and that's a shame.
This was the second time eating here. Service and food were just okay.
Great restaurant! Great service!
Enjoy the wait staff and convenience of eating at the hotel.
Menu needs work.
Wonderful. The food was great and the restaurant was quiet. A pleasant experience.
We decided to do a stay-cation at Ross Bridge and dined at Brock’s Saturday night. We got dressed up and looked forward to a great meal. Brock’s did not disappoint. We shared a mushroom flatbread with a couple of Old Fashioneds to start off. The flatbread was excellent! We both had the filets for dinner with a fantastic red wine from Tuscany. We were full after all that but managed to find room for Creme Brûlée. The meal was excellent and the service was fantastic! It’s pricey but worth the money for a special night out!
Great food, great service. Very accommodating for my 8month old daughter for a Easter weekend dinner with my family from out of town!
Everything was perfect from the service to the food.
Great place for a date. I take off 1 star because our appetizers were just fair...but the entrees were great. Tim ordered seafood linguine, I ordered winter squash risotto. We both had some to take on. I love the atmosphere at Ross Bridge.
Enjoyed dinner on a Friday night. Could use a little more ambiance (like candles on table, etc) and maybe a larger menu selection, but never disappoints in quality of food. Staff friendly and courteous. We’ll definitely be back!
Very limited menu. Over priced for quality and quantity. Had a much better prior experience so this was a disappointing Valentine date. Not likely to return, certainly for a special occasion.
