Broadway Cellars Ratings and Reviews
My all time favorite restaurant for brunch! The staff is amazing, the food is amazing and the mimosas are also on point! I’ve been here many times and today was the one time i had a slight disappointment with the food. My eggs were cold in the benedict i ordered. Other than that everything was top notch per usual👍
Having been going there for several years. It's an excellent neighborhood restaurant where diverse groups of people gather. Their New Yr's Eve special meal was the best meal I've had in years. Their special meals offered, like $5 Hamburgers, or Wine Tasting dinners, are always top notch. The creative, efficient, friendly owners and staff keep us coming back!
My few girlfriends got together here for Sun brunch. Parking was a bit complicated but we all found spaces. We loved the $10 bottomless mimosas though they were mostly orange juice. It was nice that the wait staff walked around with pitchers refilling everyone's glasses. We all enjoyed our meals but our two gluten-free friends didn't have many options. I loved my egg and bbq beef burrito and my other non-gluten-free friend enjoyed her smoked salmon benedict. The place was definitely bustling so it's best to have a reservation (which we did). Oh, and we shared the biscuits and gravy, recommended by the waiter. Delish!
Wonderful meal with four friends, quiet and nice for serious conversation and for humorous stories. Warm and welcoming with live Jazz guitar on Tuesdays, their bar is really wonderful for a chill "step up" experience over most neighborhood places. Definitely reminds me of a classic wine bar, with creative cocktails and thoughtful beer selection. Not to be missed in Rogers Park.
This is my second time here. I went to brunch with the family that was in town. The service was really nice, they were all quite nice and the food was great. The portion sizes are large and filling - my sisters and mom had the crab cakes, which they said were more "wet" than they'd like, but everything else was really good. I can't wait to return for brunch with friends!
We were a group of twelve and every single member of our group raved about their experience at Broadway Cellars. Our server handled our group like a pro and everyone enjoyed their meal and cocktails, along with the reasonable pricing. Thank you for making our recommendation to eat here and dining pleasure for all. Happy Holidays!

This was my second visit and just as pleasant as the first. We both had the special, steak and frites. Expertly prepared with a delicious glazed sauce. Cooked medium rare as requested. My sister wanted mashed as a substitute and they were glad to oblige. They were prepared just right with the perfect amount of lumps so you know they’re the real deal. I will definitely return again when I’m in Chicago.
Dinner started off great but ended poorly. We met friends for dinner before a production at nearby Rivendell Theatre, arriving 2.25 hours before curtain and notifying the restaurant when making the reservation that we had 8 pm tickets. The restaurant partners with Rivendell and offers a discount to ticket holders, so it should be used to this situation. We were greeted warmly, even given a map to guide us when walking to the restaurant. Our drinks, starters and entrees were nice -- loved the blue cheese meatloaf. We finished these with plenty of time to spare for dessert and coffee, but after waiting 20 minutes for 1 dessert to share, we had to cancel, track down someone to bring us our bill and then pay as we stood by the door ready to dash out. We barely made it in time for the performance.
Service is informed and accommodating. Food choices are varied and specials also are good. Creative cocktail list, good beer selection. TABLECLOTHS!! YEA, finally, a restaurant that is doing something to reduce noise and enable conversation. I think I will make it a rule to not patronize restaurants whose pics on OpenTable do not show tablecloths.
My favorite neighborhood spot! Owners Tom and Geri not only serve up great food and wine, but are great members of the community. The food is always interesting, but not overly fussy. They also have great wine dinners every month or two with always on-spot pairings.
Sadly Broadway Cellars has decided to change its menu and go the bar food route. What used to be a great dining experience is now just basic. And basically bad. They've taken to overpowering the food with the sauces , mustard and pickles lesser places use to cover up the quality of their good. I'd not been there for two years, and now I see no reason to ever go back.
Our first visit as we were going to a play at the Broadway Armory across the street.
What a great place for dinner. The food was delicious. Three of us had completely different dinners... pork chop, a burger and a salad. We had the appetizer of fried brussel sprouts which sounded weird but were out of this world.
The service was excellent and they turned down the music twice!! The wine pours were generous.
Great value, great food and a really nice "manager/server."
