Maybe the best restaurant in the OC. If not the best certainly in the top three.
Mother’s Day brunch. No champagne toast limited overpriced menu. Typically this restaurant is great but not on Mother’s Day.
I would never go there for a limited brunch ever again

Arrived on a Friday night at 530. Waited 15 minutes to get a drink when one bartender didn’t seem to be doing much but putting away glasses. Martinis should be served in martini glasses and filled to the top especially for $16. I liked that you transfer bar bill to table. Thank you. Food is always good here but price point a little high. And what is the 3% added tax to the bill? I found that really disappointing. And the arrogance of stating on the menu that no substitutions are allowed left me thinking that for this price point one should be able to do that. Vince was great waiter and offered wine tasting and when I didn’t like first one he offered another one. Service at table was great and timely. We live in town and there are many wonderful restaurants in Laguna so I hope this feedback helps. Competition is stiff here.

I have been looking forward to dining at Broadway because I admire chef Amar's style and creativity. I came with a group of 4 others for a celebration and we enjoyed ourselves. There were some highlights and lowlights as to be expected. The highlights included the cocktails (Loucette was fresh and unsweet, a nice balance of bright flavors), the hamachi (that sauce was incredible, bright, acidic and sweet), the pork belly (again, the sauce was the highlight, just a unique flavor combination, dynamite), and the skirt steak with chimichurri (Amar is killing it with the sauces because we asked for more). The smaller plates are fun to share and try a few different dishes.
The lowlight was unfortunately my main dish. My friend and I both ordered the pork as a main. Our server said it was one of the best, most popular item on the men,u and the description looked bold and flavorful, so we ordered it with excitement. However, perhaps since we had tasted so many amazing things already, when it came, it was overcooked and quite bland. I think I had 4 bites and that was enough to make me not want to keep eating it. The other dish that left me unsatisfied was the octopus small plate. The texture was quite nice, but the flavor of the octopus seemed overly fishy. I've had a lot of octopus and it was just off unfortunately.
Overall, the service was friendly and the food was tasty. The misses were noticeable (no one at our table thought the pork was a good dish) but can be avoided by future guests.
We came here to celebrate our anniversary. Our reservation was on a Sunday night so we were a bit surprised when we requested to change our reservation from 6:45 to 7:00 (we just wanted to enjoy our day in Laguna a bit more) they said "it would be best for you to arrive at 6:45"...which we did...but saw multiple empty tables during our entire dinner! Food was excellent again (this was our second time here) but the service was a bit unorganized at first..multiple people asked us if we wanted a cocktail, yet it took forever to get our drinks (they ended up not charging us for the drinks). Other than that everything was wonderful!! The food definitely made up for the other things!!
Excellent culinary experience, delicious food, very busy. The Fois Gras was the best I have ever had - phenomenal!
We have been to Broadway many times before, and have always been very impressed with the quality of food. This time around, unfortunately, left us under whelmed and desiring more. The food was beautiful, but lacked seasoning.
Terrific restaurant- the food and the service are impeccable. I recommend the bone marrow, Brussels sprouts and skirt steak.
We come to Laguna Beach every April and have eaten here the last 3 trips. The food is fabulous and we have been able fortunate enough to sit at the kitchen bar and watch the chef and cooks do their magic. This year we made an online reservation ahead of time and were called by the restaurant two weeks before to see if we could change the date as the restaurant was booked by a private party. We said sure and changed the date. When we arrived we couldn't have been treated more special. We were offered free drinks and repeatedly thanked for being so accommodating. We found out that the restaurant had booked that private party as a special favor for an charity event that had to scramble to reschedule when their planned chef/venue fell through. All in all, good food, great staff and a kind heart. By all means, go!
Everyone from hostess through waiter and sommelier were attentive and helpful. Food was yummy. We ordered the bone marrow to begin (a first try for both of us) and were blown away with how tasty it was.
Amazing experience all around just as expected. Appreciate the round of champagne and Chef Amar coming to chat with us. One of our all time favorite restaurants.

Service is outstanding. both dining at the bar and at roomy tables for three or four. early seating is best. Fish prepared beautifully with interesting sauces and sides. honey dessert worth the calories.
Our server was very kind and attentive. And the first course our raviolo and edamame were great. My husband got the branzino for dinner and we were assured it was deboned. When it came out his first bite had bones. The server apologized and asked if we’d like a new one. My husband didn’t want to wait for another dish so he just muddled through it. Then the manager came over and said he took care of the raviolo for the trouble. Well thanks for cheaping out- the problem wasn’t the raviolo it’s was the fish that was incorrectly butchered. I worked fine dining for a long time and I was pretty surprised that they didn’t offer to take care of his dinner that they messed up. We really like Broadway but probably won’t come back soon, that was just bad form.
Another great dining experience at Broadway! All of the dishes were attractively plated and most importantly - delicious. We loved both the lamb chops and hanger steak, and the Pana Cotta dessert was a perfect way to end the meal. Service was friendly and knowledgable. I look forward to my next visit!
My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary for the third time at Broadway.
Ryan, the manager, made a special effort to get us the table we like and Edward, our waiter, started us out with complementary Moet Chandon. We had two tasty cocktails and tried the chicken livers as an appetizer and it was wonderful. I had the skirt steak done rare which was delicious as usual. My husband had the branzino which he liked very much. We finished the evening with two complementary desserts. We highly recommend the restaurant.
This is wonderful restaurant. It was the highlight of my wife's and my getaway weekend. The food is delicious, kale Caesar salad and the beat salad. The roasted brussel sprouts were also amazing. My wife loved her specialty vodka cocktail. At first the seats seemed close together, and we thought we were on top of other customers. But as we began talking, we realized the the noise level allowed for us to hear each other but not the people next to us. Overall, we had a very enjoyable time. If we find ourselves anywhere near Laguna Beach around dinner time, this is where we will go.

We enjoy fine dining and had high hopes for this place but unfortunately we were underwhelmed. Everything was just ok. The hamachi appetizer was not good because the sauce was way too strong and overpowered the fish. My husband ordered a steak for $52 and it was just ok. The plating wasn’t impressive either. Just a piece of meat with 3 half cut fingerling potatoes and spinach tucked underneath on a huge white plate. Small portions. No bread offered. The other entrees we ordered were just ok as well. Service wasn’t very friendly and restaurant was empty. Disappointing. We probably won’t go back.
Sat at the ‘chef’s table’ bar and it was amazing to see the flow of the kitchen and chefs preparing the dishes.
The food was amazing. We prepared and well paired with the sauces and complements to the main. Brussels sprouts = amazing! Pork belly = perfect! A great overall dining experience!
This place was absolutely incredible. My cap is off to everything that is involved with the operations of this restaurant. The service was amazing and they did all of the little things(fold napkin during trip to bathroom, pushed seat in while sitting down, cleaned table after each dish, new utensils after each meal). The food was out of this world with everything complimenting everything so well. The taste of each dish was so good. I will come back here on my next trip to Laguna! Thank you Broadway for being an outstanding restaurant.
Very Nice place tucked away in Laguna. Food was as expected, Very Good. Service was excellent. I would definitely make a drive back again.
We were fortunate to sit at the Chef's Table and of course ordered the Tasting Menu and we were so pleased. Amar was there, my wife got a photo with him. Chef's Jamie & Desiree were fantastic, we did not get the other two names, but what a team.
Food was delicious, service was fantastic and props to the bartenders, where we started our evening for suggesting two wonderful cocktails.

The food was good, the service was just okay. Tables are packed together tightly.... which is slightly uncomfortable.
For the ratings this restaurant receives... it was a little disappointing overall. We frequent Laguna Beach for dinner and most likely won’t be returning.
We enjoyed our recent trip to Broadway. The hamachi and crab appetizers on the spring menu were really terrific. The cocktails were awesome as always, and the wine recommendation (tempranillo) for my dinner was outstanding. When I ordered the wagyu steak, I asked the server how the chef would recommend it be prepared. He confidently said medium rare, and I gladly agreed. The steak came out clearly medium. I was going to let it ride, until the waiter asked how everything was. I mentioned that it was medium, and not medium rare. He agreed, but didn't take it away. A few minutes that the manager (or someone else) stopped by and also agreed the steak wasn't prepared right. I felt super uncomfortable about the whole thing, but eventually they took it away to make another one. I appreciate the effort to make it better, but it was all so awkward. With how nice the place is (and we do love it) I wish the server had just offered to replace it right away and not allowed it to become an issue.
Otherwise, we were happy and will most certainly go back again!

It is always wonderful to be greeted cheerfully when you come into a restaurant. Sure happened at the Broadway tonight. Of course you need to start your meal with Brussels Sprouts. Deep fried with Chinese sausage and a subtle sweet and sour sauce. The prime skirt steak was amazing. Perfection would be how you would describe the cooking of the steak.
The chimichuri and the caramelized onion jus were outstanding.
Of course you cannot skip dessert. The On Beehive and the Bourbon Vanilla Bean Panacotta were once again amazing.
Would I go back to The Broadway, you bet I will first chance I get.
