Broadway by Amar Santana Ratings and Reviews
In the top 5 best dinners I have ever had. From the ambiance (we sat at the chef's table and it was a fun experience!), service (excellent knowledge and kindness of the staff), food, menu, etc...we had the octopus app, the skirt steak was the best I've had, and the brussel sprouts were the nonetheless the same.
Original and tasty combinations. Dim, romantic lighting. Energetic atmosphere but it works. Only TV was playing and old black and white movie for effect. Finally! A bar/restaurant without sports and news screens blaring at you. I'd return just for that! Great wine selection, awesome food and exceptional service. Well done.
One of our favorite dining spots in Laguna Beach. We love sitting at the bar or “chef’s bar” and watch the magic happen. Don’t miss the first course option - egg yolk raviolo - it’s incredible. Kudos to the chef who never misses an opportunity to conjure up unique and unexpected preparations ... and hats-off to the bar tenders that craft amazing cocktails.
The drinks, first course (beet salad & octopus) and dessert were great. The "pork chop"
consisted of several thick slices of pork. It had a very strong hickory flavor and was rare.
We could not eat it. A very expensive birthday celebration was very disappointing!
I don't know which was better, the service or the food. Both were top notch and worthy of the 50-mile drive to Laguna Beach for our 33rd wedding anniversary. My wife was impressed -- and that made me happy. I had the pork chop, she the salmon, both were tender and tasty. We're coming back as soon as possible, if only for the handmade drinks and the bone marrow.
Broadway by Amar Santana may very well be the finest restaurant in Orange County and the namesake was also in attendance to regale the patrons and to ensure a great dining experience. My wife, son and I had 7:30 dinner reservations on Saturday Night. The restaurant was packed with a vibrant crowd. We also saw a number of our CDM friends. For cocktails we ordered a bottle of Hall Cabernet from their extensive wine list and for First Course we had the Chicken Livers, Hamachi Salad, and Beet Salad. All were delicious and well prepared with dressings or sauces. For Entree's we had the Prime New York Steak, the Chimichurri Skirt Steak and the Pork Chop, and for sides we had the Fries and Brussel Sprouts. All were prepared to perfection. I highly recommend Broadway for a delicious dinner in a fun vibrant atmosphere !!
What a way to start the evening. We were greeted by Chef Amar and GM Ahmed. The food as always was amazing as always starting with Brussels Sprouts and Oysters and Hamachi. Suddenly we each had a hamburger slider in front of us compliments of Chef Amar. For the main course Bouillabaisse. Desert had to be the delicious Pannacotta. Rather than critique each course I will simply say all were fantastic. We will be back soon.
A great foody restaurant. If you can sit at the kitchen bar to watch the Chefs prepare your meal. Outstanding food in the "Wow, each bite is a gastronomic experience" category. Expensive but worth it. Excellent entrees but sometimes whey even go there when the appetizers are so good. Not someplace I would go every week, but for that occasional "foody" experience and "wow" factor it is outstanding.
One of the better meals I've had in quite a while. Everything we had-- from the raviolo to the pork belly to the pierogi to the skirt steak-- was amazing. My whole branzino ranked among the two or three best pieces of fish I've ever had. There's nothing ostentatious about this place-- just wonderful food in a cozy, familial atmosphere. Highly recommended.
Food was good and well done - a foodie's delight. Art work is beautiful on the walls. Wait staff top-notch. The ambiance - not so good for a couple. Maybe better for a foursome. The tiny tables that can barely fit your food and drinks -- jammed packed in to get as many tables as they can - they are literally 6 inches apart from each other. Don't count on having any type of private conversation if you are going with your date. The waiter had to hike the food over my husband's shoulder when it was delivered to the table so as to not to disturb the people on either side and I would have to warn him that it was coming so he wouldn't make any sudden moves. To get out of my seat on the bench side, the waiter had to ask my husband to stand up so he can push it back towards the aisle - very awkward. The bar stools at the bar when someone moved them made an awful jarring sound and every patron would whip their head around to see what it was - strange, because this is any easy fix folks. This place has been open a while now, and the place is obviously doing very well and has rave reviews, but it is a shame that they can't fix the ambiance and design side of things or sacrifice a few tables for people to enjoy the food and their company more.
