Broad Street Grille Ratings and Reviews
It’s a little pricey but the food is great....but the saying is you get what you pay for. The Sunday brunch options were fantastic. There is something for everyone. This is great to take someone for a special occasion or to impress. If you go make sure you are ready to eat a lot. If you leave hungry it’s your own fault
We go to brunch all the time. This was very disappointing. The food was subpar. I could’ve made better waffles at home. This is a buffet and that’s about it. I would not recommend this to anyone. For the amount of money we paid, we could’ve gone to our favorite place at least twice. Don’t waste your money here.
Probably the worst brunch I've had. The eggs were bagged eggs, so they were tasteless & wet. No shrimp & grits as stated on the web site. Too much lunch food, chicken, salmon with mango salsa, mashed potatoes. No specialty breakfast items. Mimosas were drinkable but not great. I didn't finish mine. Coffee was great!
Our first time here and it won't be our last. We arrived exactly at 11:00am when they reopen for Brunch. There were still lingering tables from breakfast, which has a last seating time of 8:45am. This seemed to be hindering the servers and culinary staff in the set up of brunch.
We quickly got mimosas and coffee from our server which is included in the price and then hit the buffet.
Food offerings were plentiful and they had my favorites, cheese blintzes with fruit toppings and fresh whipped cream. The eggs Benedict had a slight twist, so you can't call it that. The poached eggs are set on slices of fried green tomatoes and notably didn't have much, if any, hollandaise sauce. Still the eggs were very delicious with soft yolks.
They have a omelette station and one carved meat, which was ham this occasion. The ham was tender and smokey, just wish they had more than one carved meat. We did not try the made to order omelettes, too busy there.
The salad area has premixed Caesar salad with plenty of dressing and only a couple of other items to build your own salad. There is a smoked salmon platter with mini bagels and some of the accoutrements you'd expect, but lacking capers and chopped onions. I enjoyed the pimento cheese spread which they must make in house because it was excellent. The fresh fruit was good but the presentation of it was lackluster.
The lunch items had salmon, smoked bbq chicken, mashed potatoes, roasted broccoli, pot roast and a few others. I am a breakfast hog, so I didn't go there for anything except a piece of chicken, very tender and tasty.
Desserts were plentiful with banana pudding and peach cobbler featured prominently. I had a pastry or two from the dessert area sticking to my breakfast route. Scones were tasty.
I think we will be back soon, for brunch or the lunch buffet.
We ate at the BSG for convenience and the menu looked pretty good. There could have been some more variety. The chicken was very good to start but the sauce (Demi glaze?) was too rich and salty after eating from the top of the dish.
Service was good. Ambiance could have been better for a more upscale restaurant. It felt like a lobby restaurant.
After searching for a restaurant on Open Table that serves a Sunday brunch in Chattanooga for 9/17/2017, and comparing prices and locations, we chose Broad Street Grille because it was the only breakfast menu available on Open Table that had a variety of foods at a reasonable price. What we found out after traveling 1 1/2 hrs was that it only had a brunch meal that was an all inclusive price of $25/person! There was no choosing off the menu that Open Table had published. I spoke to the manager about our expectation of ordering off a breakfast menu and he said there was nothing he could do because he doesn't control Open Table, and this was the first time he had heard of a problem. We spoke to the server about it and she said she had heard several of the same complaints. We ate there because we were limited on time and familiarity with what the city had to offer. The food was adequate but nothing special for the price.
We have gone to the Grille for several years on special Sundays. Evidently, the following has turned from "full House" to less than 25% of tables in use. I suppose that has lead to a reduction in smorgasbord size and variety. This week, they curtained off the kitchen which didn't add anything to the ambiance. Whatever the reason, I hope they can return to their prior standards
My husband went here for our Anniversary, our waiter found out and told the Chef who came out, introduced himself and presented us with a Moush Boush appetizer. Mine had Watermelon marinated in Olive oil and seasoning with grilled Peaches... All I can say is WOW, just wow, it was absolutely mouth watering. After we were done with our dinner we were surprised with a plate of 3 different dessert samples. I don't have words for how amazing that was. Chef Jason came out again and wished us well. I cant recommend BSG highly enough!
There were 10 of us, and our table was ready when we arrived, and our waiter was excellent. He took good care of us and saw that we had everything we needed. The food was excellent and there was a great variety. It is a real treat in every way to eat there, and the price is very reasonable. I have already been several times and enjoyed myself every time. I will be back and bring more friends and family. Blessings, Gladys Edwards
My family and I took a road trip to Chattanooga for brunch for Father's Day! Before deciding on Broad Street Grille, we viewed the menu and was very impressed. But, we had not seen the restaurant, heard of the restaurant or knew anyone who had ever been. As soon as we arrived, we knew we made a great decision. Everyone had smiles on their faces. The ambiance was very elegant. Most importantly, the food was fabulous. They had a large variety for all. I will definitely return and I've told everyone I to go.
We went for Sunday brunch since we like to try a lot of different places around town. We had reservations so we were seated immediately. What I noticed first is that there were several tables that the patrons had left but they tables were not bussed. No table cloths here either. The server took our drink order right away but we didn't get water without asking. We never saw her again until I caught her coming out of the kitchen to ask for another mimosa (supposed to be unlimited, but only if you can get a server). The selection of food on the buffet was very good. Lots of choices and the food was good. However, they ran out of waffles and I had to wait 20 minutes to get one. The shrimp and grits station was missing the shrimp completely. The idea is very good. The execution not so good.
We eat at The Broad Street Grille often for brunch and we were not expecting the cost to be an additional $20 per person nor were we expecting the horrible extremely loud bluegrass band that they had. For the additional cost there should have been different foods on the menu and at least a Bloody Mary bar. It was $200 for 4 people to eat a mediocre brunch plus the tip and we all left with a headache from the loud music. If I want to hear The theme from The Beverly Hillbillies I will find it on TV not at a $50 per person brunch. Also I was upset that we called the Tuesday prior to brunch I called to add my brother and his wife and was told that they couldn't be added because brunch was sold out, however when we were seated (30 minutes after our reservation time) there were empty tables all around. This is our 3rd bad experience in the past 6 months, we won't be back.
My wife and I are from Atlanta and we were there about a year ago. We really enjoyed the food, so we decided to go back for Sunday Brunch. We were just so impressed with the food, the service by the staff, and the ambiance. It is a beautiful restaurant inside of the Chattanoogan Hotel. The price is a very reasonable $21.99 pp, which includes free Mimosas and Champagne. The carving station, omelette station, and the salad bar are exceptional! I would definitely recommend this place. We will be back.
We were there for the Easter Sunday, Champagne Brunch. I have eaten here before, and the food was very good. However, this time, I was disappointed in the food selection and inconsistent quality for this special Sunday Brunch buffet. The increased pricing for the "special" Easter Brunch decreased the dining value, as the buffet food was not even as good as usual, and many of the hot items were actually cold. *I do want to say, though, that the service was excellent, as it was in the past.*
A few Easter decorations, but poor food, in no way warranted the higher price versus the cost of their usual Sunday Brunch. A bit embarrassing for me, as I was hosting out-of-town family for what I thought would be a fabulous holiday brunch.
I simply did not see the value in what we received. The food, a buffet for Sunday Brunch, was OK....but it was not great. The mash potatoes were cold, the prime rib was fatty, the fried chicken was NOT fried....so all in all simply the food I would expect at Golden Corral. So why then did I pay more then $70 for 3 people to eat??? The atmosphere was not great, the service was not great.
After being locked out for 15 minutes past our reservation, i am assuming our group table was given away, because flustered manager took us to sit in the closed bar next door. There were no lights on, chairs were on tables, and we were sat in an area not suitable for a group full of 2 tops, so we were coupled off, making it hard to converse as a group. Thankfully, Mike the bartender took great care of us and the buffet staff was amazing. I am just really disappointed in how we were dumped off on him in there alone without the manager or host staff at least prepping it for my group. It was my birthday brunch and that treatment really bothered me. He could have at least check on us after sitting us in dark exhile.
