The chicken fried chicken tasted like something from a middle school cafeteria. The prime rib dip sandwich tasted better but the kitchen and expeditor were not doing well. The wrong side dish was brought with the sandwich and they didn’t manage to serve the correct one until we had all finished our meals. The server was apologetic and we understood it wasn’t her issue. When the expeditor brought it over and we said there’s really no point now—he simply shrugged and turned away. No apology for the fact it took 1/2 hour to correct the order and no offer to adjust the bill for the food we didn’t receive. Between the mediocre food and poor management we won’t return or recommend.

My boyfriend and I made reservations here for Valentine’s Day and chose the 4 course ? Valentine’s Day menu which included a starter, soup/salad, entree, and the dessert bar. The fondue appetizer was fabulous, however the lobster bisque was not that great. It tastes like a bowl of warm heavy whipping cream with a few drops of lobster flavoring. I got the 12 oz steak as my entree and it was one of the best steaks I have ever had at a restaurant, highly recommend! Lastly, the dessert bar was just okay. They had toffee Ana chocolate sauce for dipping strawberries and cream puffs into and then they had bite size banana cream pies and key lime pies which both tasted pretty bland. Overall we had a great experience and most of our food was amazing!

Lobster bisque was weird. Sweet whipped cream dollop in the middle. I was sure that they mistook it for creme fraiche. Server said it was supposed to be that way. Diners at the two tables next to us also thought it was strange.

I brought my wife here for valentine's day.
Had their 4 course menu.
It was excellent. The food was grest as well as the service.
Thanks for a great experience.
Will definitely be back on a normal night.

We enjoyed Brix for Sunday Brunch with friends. Nothing says "special get together" like bottomless mimosas and housemade doughnuts still warm from the kitchen! The helpings are pretty generous, so you will likely have enough to bring home for another meal. I enjoyed the crab omelette (a favorite) but the hashbrowns were a bit saltier than usual. The service was friendly and prompt and the vibe is fun and friendly. You really need reservations unless you don't mind a long wait. Thank goodness for Open Table!

Fantastic service, surprised by great Happy Hour menu including beer and drink specials and delicious Calazone, daily specials were all good - had prawn and pacific crab cake sandwich which was delicious. Service for 6 was fast. Looking forward to returning soon.

Upon sitting down we were told who our server was and immediately the server came over and asked if we were ready to order. We said no but water would be great. She said okay and left. She came back another time and asked if we were ready to order. We informed her not quite yet but then proceeded to order two drinks while myself and my girlfriend said still just water. She said of course and then left again. She came back with the two drinks for the table and still no water and then proceeded to ask our orders. We ordered our food and said water still would be nice. She said okay then left, we waited for about twenty minutes and then our food arrived. Still no water, and at this point we asked the women who brought our food for water and she said wait you don’t have water. She left and I believe the manager came up and asked if we got water. We said no we asked four times for water. She ran and grabbed a pitcher and we finally got water. Then after that the waiter checked up on us five times in a matter of ten minutes. To us it was a little to late to try and be attentive. I just had my girlfriend and her husband up from California and it was a let down to have such poor service after we talked this place up about how amazing your food and service is.

Huge let down.

Too loud. Kitchen was very slow. My salad came out with the meal instead of beforehand. Seemed to lack sufficient staff to support a full house capacity.

Dinner before theater at the Armory. Very good meals for our party of six, great service, cocktails were very good.....it was perfect for what we needed. My second visit to the restaurant and I will be back again. It is a favorite in the Pearl.

It was extremely loud. Not enjoyable for conversation but lively. The food was great. They didn’t keep track of our reservation so I was seen as a no show which I didn’t appreciate. Due to the noise level I am not sure I would go back.

Reservation was for noon, but we were not sat until 12:15pm. We arrived early, so a lot of standing around and waiting in a cramped space. I ordered the chicken and waffles, but was brought the chicken and eggs. I let the sever know and asked if I could get the waffle I ordered. I was charged not only for my entree, but also the waffle. Basically over $20 for a single breakfast entree. Also the brown gravy on the chicken was not appetizing. I was very let down and disappointed by the experience.

Brunch in Portland is always busy, so getting into places can be difficult. I loved that Brix Tavern took reservations. The food was also unique & delicious. If you like mimosas, they are one of the few spots that serve them bottomless. The only catch is that you have to still be eating. Overall, great experience!

We had a good, family dinner at Brix. The food was pretty good & there were a lot of choices. However, our server was a little over-booked & trying to wait on too many tables. I felt bad for him but it did impact our quality of service.

Went here with some colleagues on a Friday evening. The food was excellent and it was not too loud to have a conversation. The Brix Chips are great but we enjoyed the whole menu.
