Good food, fun atmosphere. Would definitely come here again.
Came here for my 40th birthday dinner. The fondue was amazing! The drinks were perfect and our server was wonderful! I love this restaurant! Highly recommended!
The restaurant didn’t seem very busy but seemed very understaffed. The service was so slow and hard to get anyone’s attention.
Waiter was great. Friendly, knowledgeable and interested. Food was very good and good sized portions. Nice place to hang out
Always our go to place. Fun atmosphere. A little noisy, but that's okay. Great food excellently priced.
We were celebrating multiple birthdays in our family, and there were quite a few of us and we were for sure disorganized. Our server was patient and great and we appreciated him so much!
Enjoyed our brunch. Very attentive server. Great Bloody Mary, decent chicken and waffles.
Loved it! I took my daughter there for a fun dinner before show and the food was great, and they are always kind to children
This is the 3rd time we have been here for Brunch and definitely will be back for Mother's Day again this year. Great food and service for sure.
We went for Easter brunch and it was top notch. It was the best Easter brunch we've been to in town and would highly recommend the restaurant to anyone. Every dish from the buffet was freshly made and was full of great flavors.
We came for a birthday celebration, made reservations. Once we got there our waitress was rude the entire time. The birthday girl ordered a burger and it was literally cold and raw. We told the waitress, no apology was given and she stated she would have them put it back on the grill...I'd assume you would make a brand new burger and say sorry. 15-20 minutes past before she came out to tell us it was on its way. We asked for a box to go and she looked surprised. The manager was aware of this too and he didn't apologize. We weren't even comped for it on the bill. Literally terrible service and I actually use to consider this my favorite spot in Portland. Rudest workers I have ever encountered.
Good solid "American Food", but no great culinary wonders. The menu is fairly large, so a good option for groups. Good variety of wine options by the glass or carafe. It's definitely a pub atmosphere with sports on big screens and a young drinking crowd, but not terribly noisy. We found the service to be very good, friendly and attentive but not overly so.
Ohhhhh yeahhhh tables you can draw on
Went here for lunch with a friend mid week. Was pretty deserted, but the service was still kind of slow. Excellent salads. Had a nice beer selection, though we weren't drinking. It's much larger inside than it looks from the front.
The food was amazing. Had to wait for my food while everyone else got there's but totally worth the wait. Had pumpkin bread pudding... excellent!!!!
The food was good and the ambiance was ok for a casual restaurant, but the service was sadly lacking. The server was just going thru the motions. We had to ask for new tableware after our salad. The dessert was served in a throw-away aluminum pie tin. Will probably not return.
We hadn't been there in a while, so we made reservations and went for breakfast/brunch on a Sunday. It was steady-busy but not too crowded. As usual, the warm donuts they serve beforehand were delicious. I had the shrimp & crab omelet and my wife had the shrimp and grits (two of our favorites): both were great and enough to take some home for another meal. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful.
I'm a big fan of Brix, and they had an excellent selection to choose from for Portland Dining Month in March. It was a great value, and the food was fantastic.
We did the Portland Dining Month deal and had the following to eat:
Caesar salads (plentiful and delicious) for both of us, smoked turkey with mashed potatoes and gravy, mixed veggies and cranberry sauce. Half chicken with natural jus, mashed potatoes and mixed veggies. For dessert we had pumpkin bread pudding and creme brulee with lemon curd.
The turkey was delicious, tender and had a great smoke flavor. The mashed potatoes were extra lumpy and delicious. The veggies were just that, veggies, nothing special (Can you tell I don't care for veggies much?).
The chicken was tender and cooked perfectly. I didn't feel it had all that much flavor (I feel they could've added more spices and seasonings in the brine to give it more flavor). Extra lumpy and delicious mashed potatoes with "natural jus" and veggies.
The desserts were delicious and plentiful.
The restaurant was packed at 7pm on a Saturday night. We put a reservation in for 7:30 pm and got there 30 minutes early and were seated immediately. The server did a wonderful job. She was very professional and had a pleasant personality. We waited at least 20 minutes to get our salads for an appetizer. Right when we noticed that we'd been waiting a while, a manager came over, apologized for the wait and offered some soup to hold us over. We had tomato soup (sweet, not so acidic) and chicken tortilla soup (tasted just like a taco flavored tortilla).
The restaurant is a bit loud, so, wouldn't be a great place for a first date or for those that want a quiet, romantic dinner.
We enjoyed our dinner and the fantastic service. We will be back at least one more time this year (their prices are a bit high, but that is how most restaurants in Portland are).
Again we thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at Brix.
We love Brix!! They have a great happy hour menu with tons of options and reasonable pricing. It’s a really fun, casual atmosphere and the service is great! I recommend this spot to anyone who hasn’t tried it yet!
We dined here for PDX dining month and will definitely be back for date night! Their selection is wonderful and their food is incredible!
Great place, Lori waited on us and did an outstanding job, she is energetic and organized.
Loved the food and service. Oddly, the music was super loud, which meant everyone in the place had to speak louder to be heard. Unfortunately, we couldn't hear each other talk (four of us). Been here several times. Love this place, but not sure why the volume was so uncomfortably high this time.
Usually I am a fan of this place but I have to say this is the second visit where I was disappointed. I tried to always give good reviews after 1 off visit but after the second I think it’s necessary. I went here back in November for 2 birthday brunches for myself, I put in the notes both times on my reservation that it was my birthday, the server or manager did not say happy birthday or offer dessert which I thought was odd but I did not pick the battle. But this last Saturday 3-17 was the last straw. It was my wife and I’s anniversary which i once again put in the notes on the open table reservation. Not once was it mentioned or anything by the hostess, waitress or manager. My wife ordered the gluten free pizza as she has a gluten allergy, after waiting 30 minutes after ordering the manager comes over and tells us they are out of gluten free crust and instructs my wife to order something else. She had maybe 2-4 other options that were even meals, she had to order two side dishes and THE MANAGER never offered to comp the meal, free dessert or at the very least just comp her meal. When they brought my meal out i ordered the ribeye and it was so fatty and greasy i couldn’t even eat it. The server came over and asked if i wanted a box and i told her my steak was too fatty. She said she was sorry but didn’t offer to get me anything else or comp the $40 steak i couldn’t eat. Every time we are here we spend at least $100-200 on brunch or dinner. We do not NEED free food or anything we can afford nice dinners but after so many times of mishaps on their part and not offering to fix it I am incredible disappointed and offended. We have now given 2 other opportunities for these guys to redeem themselves and they have let us down all three times. We will not be coming back unfortunately.
Brix once again served us a great Friday night meal. Whether you want brunch, special occasion or just a night without cooking, Brix Tavern fills the bill. Great for two or large party celebrations. Open Table makes it simple to be assured of seating that you request.
We tried Brix as part of PDX Dining Month before a concert. What a great place! We had 2 great meals, and the service was timely, even during happy hour. We'll definitely be going back again!
Went here for my birthday dinner and PDX Dining Month. Great choices on the menu (more then other restaurants participating)! The food was delicious, as well as the specialty cocktails. My friends and I will definitely be back! Highly recommend coming here, looks like they also have nightly specials and brunch listed on their chalkboard.
Came here for my birthday brunch on a Sunday. Good space for my group of 12. Food was delicious as always and bottomless mimosas. Will definitely be back.
It was great
Let me start by saying the food and restaurant were wonderful!! We were there for a large party and everyone was so happy with the restaurant. Our issue was with the service. We had a reservation for 11 and our table was not ready when we arrived. We sat waiting to order our drinks for over 20 minutes. We had to go find someone to take our order. Our waitress never introduced herself, and we didn't feel like we were taken care of at all. There was a special deal going on for the month and it was horribly explained to us. I don't believe or bill reflected the discounted prices either. I was truly shocked at hour bad our service was, I would never book a large event here again due to this experience.
We had reservations for 6:00 pm and was able to eat off of the happy hour menu. Very fun that way because you can try a variety of dishes while keeping the cost down. Good drinks and nice wait service.
My friends and I have been here on three other occasions. We enjoy the diverse menu. But I wouldn’t say the food is outstanding.
I asked for a special dessert for the birthday girl and they brought her ice cream with chocolate sauce. NOT special. I certainly would have paid for something much better had I known that was what was being brought out. I’ll know better if there is a next ‘birthday’ at Brix.
Putting dining tables close to a pool table is just bad for all involved. We were interrupted 3 times by people who darn near hit 2 people in our 8 person group in order to get the perfect shot (they missed every time, btw). You can't count on your pool playing guests to show proper etiquette when playing in a dining room. Maybe limit the pool playing hours to the happy hour time frame...or remove the dining tables in close proximity??
The food was just okay; the service quite slow; the serve;r's attitude unwarranted.
And the final bill was a disaster---their 18% mandatory gratuity ranged from 18% to 23% when the server broke out each individual tab (which was appreciated, but not expected).
The server only offered "that is how the system does it" as an explanation.
This was a Portland Dining Month fail for sure.
I think I will stick to Happy Hours--if I return at all.
We celebrated a Birthday at Brix. Since it was Portland Dining Month, we decided to have the three course special. We each had a different salad or soup. All were tasty. Several of us chose the prime rib. It was quite delicious. The succotash veggies with squash and corn was delightful. Lastly, the desserts were incredible. We had a toffee brownie that the "birthday boy" declared was the best brownie, ever, the blackberry pie, rootbeer float and the pumpkin bread pudding. You could not go wrong! The service was excellent. We'll be back.
I visited Brix Tavern for my Birthday and it was amazing. I ordered Shrimp & Grits, my friend ordered a shrimp and crab omelette, as well as mimosa’s. It was pretty lively in there once we arrived and I was glad I mad reservations using this app! We were seated quickly and didn’t have to wait long for our meal. Our waitress was extremely sweet. Great experience!
The food was mediocre, hot tea and coffee were lukewarm, and even with a reservation, we had to wait for 15 minutes for our seat.
I love Brix. We come here often for many types occasions and always leave happy. Sometimes we bring large groups for a celebration, other times we go as a family with our two toddlers and have been for date nights and everything in between. I love this place, the food, the staff and ambiance is fabulous.
Good clean restaurant
Went for brunch on Saturday and it was great! The mimosas for the table were delish & my glass was never empty. This was my first time at Brix, but I will definitely be going again soon! I highly recommend. Service was good & prompt.
