Ideal for large groups, the menu features seasonal, global-inspired tavern fare, extensive craft beer offerings and original handcrafted cocktails.
Early and late happy hours keep guests glued to their seats as they get caught up on the latest sports games airing all around the restaurant, and the daily food and drink specials keep locals and visitors alike coming back again and again.
And have you heard the talk about brunch? Those donuts though.

Our party mostly ordered off the happy hour menu and everything was tasty. Mostly basic. We had quite a few items to share and four drinks. The total bill came in at about a $100 with tip.
During this day Brix Tavern has a fixed menu for their special date with a cancellation fee if you cancel. Couldn’t even order the entree item I wanted as our server came back to me telling me it is sold out... Their normal menu and dining is pretty good but this occasion makes me not want to come back. Absolutely unacceptable.
Went for Valentine’s Day. Good food, weird set up. I was told, they were out of steak, and then 3 people were served steak, that showed up after me. Not a great feeling when trying a new place. Paying a higher price tag doesn’t always mean a higher experience. Would go back in the future though. Give it another shot.
Went for Valentine's Day. They were promoting a special, for course meal. Food was not worth the price. Table was in a row of tables near the door, every time for opened the wind blew in, vary uncomfortable! Asked to switch table, but staff seemed stuck on where they could seat people, maybe those who were there for the specials? Food was only ok, in hind sight should have ordered off regular menu it would have been cheeper.
The meal was way too expensive and everything served was mediocre. We waited 45 minutes for an entree and it was cold by the time it was at our table. Do not recommend.
Valentine’s Day probably wasn’t the best day to try this place out. Most of our meal was pretty good, but the steak was bad. Like, embarrassingly bad. And the “desert bar” wasn’t good either.
It was Valentine’s Day. The tables were a lot closer together to accommodate more guests. The fixed menu options were great. The steak was really good and cooked perfectly. The dessert bar was disappointing, but didn’t ruin the evening. Overall, we had a fantastic experience. Thank you.
Tasty food. Excellent service. Nice ambiance. Highly recommended.
Great food, service, and prices! However, even with a reservation multiple days in advance, the seating setup they chose for a group of 12 was terrible (one long straight table with a very rounded bench on one side) meaning those on the ends had the table 2 inches from them while those in the middle had to reach about 20-22 inches away to get to their plate. Those on either end could not communicate verbally due to the distance and the "energetic" environment. Would not recommend large groups without reserving the private space. Otherwise, 5 stars!
Great service! Unfortunately my food came out cold.
Such horrible service. I highly recommend skipping this waste of money and going to nearby Bluehour or ByWays Cafe in the same neighborhood, for faster service and food that will actually blow you away! :)
We had a reservation for 12pm, just 2 people. I was on a brunch date and we arrived early, at 11:50. By 12:25 we had seen multiple groups of 2, 4, 6, even 8 get seated. I politely asked why we were waiting so long and the hostess told me “some people were waiting much longer.” Well... I was watching you seat people for 30 minutes while ignoring me so I didn’t see anybody else waiting like we did. Rude hostess and unacceptable service.
We went to blue hour and had an amazing brunch, and they were more than happy to swipe my date’s card for our brunch and cocktails. :) GO THERE INSTEAD!
Food was great, mimosas were great, wonderful atmosphere. However, I had a friend who is allergic to citrus and they wouldn’t substitute another juice for her mimosas. She had to instead buy a full bottle of champagne for $35 when we all got bottomless mimosas for $9. That was very upsetting.
Unless you want to watch sports on big screens this isn’t your place. Went for brunch and eggs arrived very cold, the waffle was flavorless and service was lackluster at best.
Been to Brix many times, never had a bad experience. Food is solid, great drinks, fun atmosphere. Weekends they sometimes have live music.
Thank you Morgan for the outstanding review! We currently have live music every Friday and Saturday night here at Brix Tavern. We hope to see you back here soon. Cheers!
Great restaurant with reasonable prices. My husband especially liked the Harris Ranch Prime Rib! Lori our server was so sweet and very attentive. We are from Seattle but will be coming back!
Thank you for the 5 star review! Lori is one of our best servers, and we will be sure to let her know that you enjoyed your experience with her. We look forward to taking care of you the next time you are in town. Cheers! The Team at Brix Tavern
Fun neighborhood bar with above average bar food. We went on a whim to try something new and enjoyed the evening. Service was timely and the servers pleasant and knowledgeable. We had the Brix Chips appetizer which was to die for. I ordered the Brix Mule to drink and it was perfect. The Beyond burgers, coconut shrimp, and crab cakes were delicious but pretty standard. Multiple TVs for adequate sports viewing. A fun place for a casual evening with friends
Thank you HungryGirl62 for stopping in at Brix. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed the service here along with our world famous Brix Chips! As you noted, we are an excellent spot to hang out and watch your favorite sporting event. Our food and drinks pair with it perfectly. Please stop by and check out our brunch sometime soon, you won't be disappointed. Thank you again and we look forward to serving you again soon. The Team at Brix Tavern
Good overall! Yummy house drinks and solid upscale bar food. We'll be back :-)

Delicious food, great space and service, just really loud. Not my first visit and not my last...Brix is a place I recommend to others regularly.
Super yummy and simple brunch food. They start you out with free, homemade donuts that were the best part of the meal! Bottomless mimosas are also a great deal.
Thank you for your 5 star review! We are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your brunch experience here at Brix Tavern. We will be introducing several new brunch cocktails soon. Please be sure to stop in and let us know what you think. We look forward to seeing you soon. Cheers! The Team @ Brix Tavern
Great food; I had the shrimp & grits and my wife had the halibut sandwich. Service was amazing and the mystery bag beers were fun.
I was pleasantly surprised by Brix Tavern. I wasn't sure when I booked this for our book club, but it was GREAT! It wasn't too loud, the food was good, the service was awesome. Our server worked with our large party and was super nice. We will be back!
Thank you Tricia for your 5 star review! We are delighted to hear that you and your book club enjoyed your experience here at Brix Tavern. We are an excellent choice for parties small and large and we will always go out of our way to give you outstanding service. We hope to see you back here soon. Cheers! The Team at Brix Tavern
Food and service was excellent again, as it has been everytime we have been to Brix.
Thank you Jeff for the 5 star review! We are happy to hear that you enjoyed our world class hospitality here at Brix. We look forward to serving you again soon. Sincerely, The Team at Brix Tavern
I had to wait even with a reservation. And the food took a long time to come out. Was given free doughnuts for the wait, so class act on the part of the server.
Loved the place right away. Our server Chris took good care of us made great food and drink recommendations and handled our loud party of 8 effortlessly. Would recommend this restaurant and return next time in Portland.
Thank you for the 5 star review. Chris is one of our best servers, and we are delighted to hear that he made you and your group feel right at home here at Brix Tavern. We look forward to seeing you again when you return. Sincerely, The Management Team @ Brix Tavern
I rarely give poor reviews..With many available tables in this large restaurant, we were seated directly next to a family with a small (loudly) crying child. I like children and I emphasize with the parents; Just seat us a bit away. It would have been very awkward for us to move when the child started screaming.
The cocktails were good. The beet salad was good. The portions were way too big. Not a bonus for people going out on the town afterwords. I noticed many plates returning to the kitchen half eaten. Very wasteful.
I ordered the salmon with the lemon risotto and "fresh" vegetables. The salmon was overcooked and the lemon risotto was cheesy goop. The vegetables were: 2 soggy strips of bell pepper. 2 soggy very thin slices of yellow squash and 4 untrimmed, undercooked asparagus. Only half of each of the asparagus were edible, the rest being woody. For $28 I was quite underwhelmed. I will not go back. There are so many other restaurants in the area that offer a better experience.
We had a group of 12 celebrating a coworker retirement and the staff at Brix let us have their private room. It was perfect! The food and service were excellent. We will definitely be back.
Abbykake, Thank you for choose Brix to celebrate your coworker's retirement. We were happy we were able to go the extra mile and elevate your service. We look forward to seeing you back here soon! Sincerely, The Team at Brix Tavern
Great ambience. We were a group, and mostly ate burgers. Nothing special, and the bread wasn’t fresh. Two of us had a fondue and they were disappointed. I had been there before and I had enjoyed the food, but not really this time. Would be nice to have more vegetarian options.
Hello SDPdx, Thank you for your feedback, we appreciate it. While we do not have a "vegetarian menu" per say, most of our items can be made vegetarian by removing the protein and adding a substitution item. We also have our veggie patty and now the Beyond Burger for our burger options. Our bread is fresh, but we do toast it before it goes out. Please let us know if there is anything we can do at your next visit to enhance your experience. Sincerely, The Management Team at Brix Tavern
Always as expected— 5 stars— food, service, ambiance
Thank you Ducky for the 5 star review! We are delighted to serve you!
Brunch with my girls
Great food, great service, bubbles with every bite was perfect and the servers were attentive for our large party! Would definitely go back!
Good vibe. Make reservations for a Friday. Burger was good, and Bacon Mac Cheese was great. Bloody Mary with bacon also was good.
Simply fantastic. So glad we chose to go there. Food was excellent, service even better. Wine selection was okay...not fantastic, but paired well with the food. Overall a very enjoyable experience. Would go there again in a heartbeat.
Thank you Gregory for the shout out and the 5 star review! We can't wait to see you again!
Food is always really good. Great atmosphere.
Thank you for the review!
I feel bad about writing this review because the restaurant is really fun inside and the food is delicious. However, we had a very bad service experience. First we were seated by a table right by the front door that had no curtain to protect us from the cold air. It took a long time to get seated at another table, longer time for our order to be taken, and a very long time for the food to come. Also, one of the glasses of wine served was from a bottle that had obviously been open for awhile and had gone bad.
There were several large parties that night and it was clear the restaurant hadn’t staffed the waiters and cooks sufficiently for the crowd.
I hope Brix management will take this to heart and implement the easy fixes to improve the service and the exposure to the front door weather.
It really is a fun place and the food was delicious when it finally arrived.
All of the aspects of service were very slow. Waited over 15 minutes to be acknowledged by a Greeter/Host. Once seated we waited 20 minutes to be greeted by a server. Once we were greeted they took a drink and food order and we never saw them again. Honestly, we should have left before we saw the server. The food was "ok" The chicken pot pie was completely under seasoned and the Truffle mac was over seasoned. Drinks were ok, would have been great to have been checked in on by a server or waitstaff person of some kind. I have been here before and had amazing drinks, food and service. I'm not sure I will come back. It was very disappointing. If you have lots of time to waste and no desire to get food and a reasonable time then this place is great. I understand when there are big parties and you may be short staffed, but couldn't even get eye contact from Expo or the person that could have been a manager, and frankly the staff looked like they really didn't care what was going on.....
Fantastic food and service as always.
Great service and delicious food!
The food was excellent. It was however, extremely loud. It was like being in a club or small bar at happy hour where you had to shout at people across the table to hear each other.
Went here for a NYE four course meal. Food was outstanding and cocktails were second to none. It is pretty noisy in the restaurant and bar but hey it was NYE so that is to be expected. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. Will definitely be back when I visit Portland next!
Service was great! Chris I believe took care of us and he was terrific! We all had SO MUCH FUN!
