Ideal for large groups, the menu features seasonal, global-inspired tavern fare, extensive craft beer offerings and original handcrafted cocktails.
Early and late happy hours keep guests glued to their seats as they get caught up on the latest sports games airing all around the restaurant, and the daily food and drink specials keep locals and visitors alike coming back again and again.
And have you heard the talk about brunch? Those donuts though.

Two areas of concern I can make, 1) it took several minutes to be greeted by our server. Once we were greeted he was outstanding. 2) noise level. It was noise in the dining area but did quiet down as the evening progressed.
Very loud conference during our dinner. Though the food was delicious.
Portland Dining Month- Really great deal for excellent dinners.
I like the atmosphere here fun and relaxed. Get the crab cakes!
Every experience I have had at this establishment gets better and better. The service is amazing and the food is always wonderful!! Keep taking different people here to celebrate different birthdays and such
The Brix is an excellent place for a Sunday brunch. Staff was very attentive and took great care of us. I highly recommend.
Went for Portland Food Month. Based on normal menu prices, $33 for 3 courses was pretty decent. However, the quality of the food left a bit to be desired. I upgraded to the New York steak. Requested medium rare and received medium. Steak comes with a blue cheese fondue. This made me think of a creamy, rich sauce. No. It was thin and watery. Hubby ordered the halibut and prawns. Both were massively over cooked. The halibut has such a dry, hard crust on one side that it was almost impossible to cut.
Ambiance is nice. Very well decorated and the crayons at the table to draw on the butcher paper was cute. Our server was very friendly and attentive. Food came out pretty quickly. We went on a Saturday, so it was pretty noisy. Conversation was a challenge at times. They have a nice space for corporate or special events of 50 people or less. They call themselves a “tavern”, but it’s definitely more of a restaurant. Probably the only thing that qualifies it as a Tavern were the various televisions playing sports.
Overall, it was ok. I would probably not go back though.
We only got one of the three courses ordered for Portland Dining Month. We notified our server right away we were going to a play and agreed that our hour plus we had for dinner should be plenty to accommodate that schedule. I had to track down our server twice to try to get either our food or our check after waiting 20 minutes for salads and not seeing any sign of our entrees after 45 minutes. The kitchen was backed up, but there was no communication to the guests. Knowing we needed to leave, it still took 10 minutes to get the check resolved. It was very disappointing.
The food was really good and our waitress Laurie was awesome!!
Server was nice and took care of us, the 28 day dry age ribeye was not what was expected. Very tough and chewy. We are not complainers so we just took the left overs home. Figure I can cover it with gravy and stew it. Just disappointed for what I expected.
Food was excellent and service was impeccable. It was busy, yet we didn't wait long for anything and the noise level was actually fine given the number of people there. Definitely want to come back for brunch!
Brix Tavern is one of our favorites. We went to dinner at Brix to kickoff a bachelorette weekend and we had reservations well in advance. After waiting almost 30 minutes beyond reservation time we spoke to the host and the manager gave us the Loft area so we would no longer have to wait. It ended up being the perfect place for us ladies to sit. We ordered several different plates to eat family style plus drinks. The food was delicious and we had great service. Very much appreciated the response to our initial frustration. Highly recommend this place!
We did the Portland Dine Out Menu. Brix's take on this is great as they let you choose from so many different items whereas a lot of restaurants give you a small set list that you may/may not enjoy.
All courses were very good
Steak is very good. Worth our money. They have a lot of variety on the menu for the deal.
I wouldn't call it a top notch experience but I did enjoy the evening and the food. This review lost pretty serious points from me as when they changed over to more of a bar atmosphere they played the music SO VERY LOUD we were yelling at each other over the table. I am fine with loud music but this was ridiculous. It was so loud it didn't even sound good because it was distorted. Review tip, GO EARLY before the bar scene starts up if you want to enjoy a meal and conversation with friends.
What great place, never even knew it was there. We are definitely going back to try other items on the menu.
Brought my wife there for her Birthday. Miranda and the younge brunette buser helping her, were both very friendly and efficient. Our meal and drinks where very good, and we’ll definitely come back the next time we’re in Portland.
Great variety of food for groups. Great happy hour selection.
It was absolutely great! I love this place, always my go-to brunch!
Always great to have brunch at Brix. We made a reservation so got seated quickly. Service was great. Love that everyone gets donuts to start, they are so yummy. Love the food and drink options. Our food was hot and fresh. Love the tables with paper and crayons.
Place is really cool. Food is OK. Nothing special for Portland. My omelette was cold and mushrooms had some decent grit/dirt as if they hadn’t been washed.
Will give it another shot as the other reviews were pretty positive. I’m thinking we might have visited on an off day.
Good pub food and enjoyable environment. With Bridgeport closing, this might be our new "go to" place
We were there with friends to celebrate my birthday and Portland Dining Month and was pleasantly surprised by the variety of items on the menu.
the music was a little load at our table but overall a Great place to have dinner
We made a reservation and were seated right after we arrived, food was good and not too pricey. Definitely worth it if you do mimosas with the boozy brunch on Saturday, and they have lots of other cool deals throughout the week!
It was a lovely get together with friends. Food came out in a timely manner, maybe slow at times but it was fine with us. Food was delicious and service was fantastic. It was hard to hear each other at first but as the night went on and more patrons left, it was easier to hear and talk. Loved our time and would love to come back again.
We eat at Brix regularly, and this last experience was equally as wonderful as all the others! Or server was very attentive and helpful. We were in the whiskey room because it had a large party, and they accommodated us very well!
Portland dining month special three course meal. The food was great.
If you like loud packed places with loud music, mediocre food, slow service, and high prices, Brix Tavern is the place. We let our server know we were in a bit of a rush, and were assured we would be well taken care of. Instead, we were pretty much ignored the entire night, and they knew we had a birthday boy. We won't be back, and we won't be recommending anyone else come either.
We had the most amazing Beef Trio meal, and beet salad. Our waitress/server was AMAZING!
Great atmosphere and service. We had Portland dining month specials. Caesar salad wasn’t fresh. Prime Rib was almost 50% fat. Our 2nd visit and food is only fair.
Food was good, service was slow and our waitress didn’t come by to check in often enough.
Tried Brix Tavern for the first time as part of Dine-out month but will definitely be back. Every dish ordered was beautifully presented and delicious! Server was very attentive and communicative.
Food was bad and overpriced. Upcharged on the portland dining month for seafood and steaks, wouldnt have gone here at all if i knew that. Bathroom was nasty. Terrible beer list, with few optuons and only good ones were out. We loved our server though.
This was a great place for a birthday dinner. Loved my grilled salmon, so moist and flavorful.
We just went last Sunday night 03/03/19 - It was horrible. I ordered the prime rib medium rare and it came cooked through with an awful dark brown gravy type dressing. Couldn't eat it. The women's bathroom was dirty with paper towels tumbling over and over each receptacle. Will not be going back.
Went with a group of 7 for PDM and was surprised to hear that there was up charge on certain items. When we spoke with the Manager he explained that the menu on TravelPortland was inaccurate but that he would honor the menu as presented on TP as that was what brought us in. Excellent service was very gracious about it all.
Best brunch I’ve ever had hands down. My girlfriend and I haven’t stopped talking about the Skillets and the bottomless mimosas. Amazing for the price. I’d recommend it to anyone.
The food was good, but the service was lacking. We had a 7:00 reservation, but were not able to be seated until 7:30. Once we were seated, we waited about 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged we were there, and several more minutes before our actual server showed up. This was pretty much the theme of the evening, with the server coming by infrequently to check on us. Noise level was very high, and the Portland Dining Month deal was their regular menu with a slight discount. The food was good, but I won’t be running back there any time soon.
Sooooo disappointing, not as advertised for Portland dinning month.
