Brix Restaurant and Wine Bar Ratings and Reviews
One of my all-time favorite restaurants in Flagstaff - the food, service, wine, and atmosphere is top-notch. My boyfriend wants to go there every time he is in town! Our favorites: the meat and cheese boards with all the yummy flavors and whatever special is happening in the kitchen has been just spectacular!
My girlfriend and I had a really great time here. Awesome food and wine, and I really appreciated the timing of the food service; it was broken into courses due to ordering appetizers with our main entree. Perfect for a date when intending for a nice, long evening dinner. Although quite expensive, I'd say it's overall worth it. My only critique is our seating arrangement was a little close to the table next to us, almost feeling like we were eating with our neighboring table.
Get one of the boards!
MY wife and I have eaten at Brix several times through the years, but must say our recent dinning experience at Brix was not the usual quality affair that we've come to expect. Service was average at best, food was tardy and cold when served, and drink prices have gone beyond acceptable. Looks like Brix is going the route of a lot of other Flagstaff restaurants and that's the way of Sedona, average food service and cocktails with 5-star prices. After all, they're just tourists and won't have to worry about them coming back. SHAME
A lovely little spot. We had a quiet table in the back the service was great. We enjoyed every dish we had which were the risotto, pork belly, filet and duck.
The server who brought our water told every table that it was triple filtered, which to us is a tad pretentious and completely unnecessary. The restaurant is so intimate and welcoming and the food and service is great that they don't need to have any airs and graces. That being said, we will definitely retun
Daniel was such an amazing server!
I was celebrating my wife’s birthday and it was such an rememberal dinner. The food was unique and well presented. I couldn’t have ask for a better place to spend the evening with my love. Thank you Brix and Daniel for such a great night.
My wife and I went to Brix for the first time for our 22nd anniversary. Food choices were interesting, although most items were off our normal dining list. There were enough choices however for both of us to find a pleasant dinner. Service by Daniel was as good as it gets. He's knowledgeable, very personable and very helpful without being pushy. An all around pleasant evening.
We've eaten twice at Brix and have had exceptionally good meals each time. Although the building's exterior does not have an impressive look, once inside, the finishes and overall appearance are appealing. The service was terrific both times. On our last visit, my wife had the Duck Confit (by the facial expressions I could tell her taste buds were remembering a favorite meal in Gascony) and raved about the meal for quite some time. I had the Short Rib Crepes, braised and ricotta filled in a bordelaise sauce. INCREDIBLE! I'm not usually a fan of French wines but given my meal was presented in a bordelaise sauce, it only made sense to stick with the Bordeaux region of France for my wine selection. The Pinot Noir was surprisingly good with nice aromas of spice, black cherry and hints of plum and anise. Very robust and flavorful.
The food was delicious and very creative, the dining room has so much ambience and character. What made the evening even more special was our great waiter, Daniel. He recommended the perfect choices for both food & wine. He was engaging and attentive. We can't wait to return!
While traveling through Flagstaff, we found Brix on OpenTable. We went with no expectations and LOVED it so much, we drove through Flagstaff the following week just so we could dine here!!! Wish I didn’t live 1,200 miles away!!
I was really looking forward to returning to Brix. My daughter goes to school at NAU and I was here visiting her and her boyfriend. We had been here before the last time I was in town and it was fabulous!
However, we did not have near the same experience. Service was fair. Don't ask any questions about the menu as the waiter can't explain, nor does he want to.
Food portions were very small, and just ok.
I won't be back!
This was a second visit and we enjoyed. Highlights were the short ribs crepes , shisto peppers and duck confit croquettes. The cheese board we had to end meal was just okay...nice selection but cheese was served way to cold and at that price we should see perfection. Wine list is good but not many budget selections. We will go back but skip the cheese board.
We had the best experience at Brix! We were visiting from Scottsdale and I couldn't have asked for a better spot to land that evening for my boyfriend's birthday dinner. Our server Daniel was laid back, but also detail oriented. He sold us on the best cheese board in town, described the drink list to a T and the scallops were the BOMB. We will definitely be back for our next date night!
Brix is awesome. My son and I had a terrific dinner. We both started with the Field Greens Salad, he had the Bolognese, I had the Coffee Rubbed Duck Breast and we both finished with the Autumn Spice Crème Brulee. This is as good a restaurant as you can find anywhere, and the best Duck I have ever had. On top of that the service was excellent.
Since this restaurant opened we have made it a point to stop for dinner when we drive through flagstaff as we did a couple of days ago. This time our food was mediocre and my NY steak was tough and overlooked. I returned it and replacement was still tough. Salad was also mediocre.
The food was quite good. The waiter recommended a bottle of wine which was being discontinued and was therefore less expensive (not cheap though) and was very good. The appetizers were good as well as the entrée. They did not have the lamb which is what my wife wanted as they did not receive their delivery. The pace was a bit quick as we were done in just over an hour and I would have expected a bit more deliberate presentation. The dessert was nothing special. We did not eat dessert and walked back to our hotel and found a gelateria nearby. Go for that. Overall very well done and we would go again for sure if we make it to Flagstaff again.
Going into Brix is one of the things I look forward to far too often for my college budget. The staff just keeps getting better, and so does the food. The cheese plate is so well balanced, it is the best I've ever had. And I have a lot of cheese plates. The Purple Haze pasta is always what I go for and its done excellently. I will go to this restaurant for as long as I live in Flagstaff.
Great dinner, celebrating with family. Chelsea was our server and treated us as if we were her personal guests.
The small plate of Blue Crab & Speck was a culinary delight! The flavors, texture and presentation lit up all of our senses.
The gluten free and vegan options were plentiful and delicious. Chelsea was very knowledgeable with the menu and preparation for allergen issues.
Steak and Frites are always a favorite. The Roasted Red Onion and Purple Haze Chevre Ravioli had us practically licking our plate clean. The portions were generous and the ambience, service, and quality of food made our celebration a huge success. Always a pleasure at Brix!
Brix is a great place if you like adventurous food. Nothing ordinary here. Flavors are big and bold. Lots of spice....and I don't mean hot. Unique flavor combinations ... unusual flavor combinations .... but combinations that work. You will think, "This is weird" . Then you will think, "Wow! Thus is is awsome."
Service is person and excellent. Daniel was our waiter. He explained, answered questions, even made well informed wine choices.
Wine list is varied and approachable. Again, not the usual choices. But choices you can recognize and are comfortable with.
All in all, a memorable and stimulating dining experience.
Cheese board and breads were outstanding. Handcrafted cocktail was one of the best I have ever had. We were a group of 4 and we were all disappointed in our soup/salads. All were bland. 2 of us had the bolonese and agreed it was amazing. However, the other 2 main dishes (the duck and short rib crepes) were only average. The big problem was timing of service. We arrived early for our 6:45 reservation on a Thursday night and it was after 9 when we finished because there was so much lag between ordering our food and being served each course. I would recommend the restaurant but only if you are not in a hurry!
