Brittlebush Bar & Grill at The Westin Kierland Resort Ratings and Reviews
Nicole, our friendly server was very upbeat and treated us very well. We enjoyed the Burger & Ale Sunday special and the Crispy Fish tacos along with a side of onion rings. All the food was delicious , including the special toffee pudding dessert! The setting was beautiful overlooking the golf course. We also enjoyed the Sunday football games broadcast on the many screens.
I have written quite a few reviews in past j der "Sandy" and it can be said consistently....great neighborhood gem. Tasty food, good value served with a smile. They serve lunch and happy hour only but it a friendly golf course restaurant, great views, and innovative menu.
At a recent visit just before Christmas, Brittlebush had redecorated their furniture! Well they raised their prices, especially wine now from $11 to $16 in a not so generous glass so you are paying for the new furniture. Prices on menu have increased too!!!!!!! Sadly, the new prices are not worth the investment in what was once a great neighborhood gem. They have pushed this diner out the door. What was once good food at a good value, not so much!
When I made reservations, I was not sure what to expect. But once I found the location of the restaurant, I was pleasantly surprised. It is the grill or restaurant ideally suited for the golf course however, the food was good but the service was exceptional.
The waitress and the bar tender went out of their way to make the two of us happy. Give those two a big fat raise. LOL!
Always like to take new friends to this quiet oasis In the middle of suburbs surrounding this quiet spot. Like the food, but can't quite understand why a glass of ice tea is $4.00 each. Seemed excessive and padded the bill since I was hosting. The view, service, hospitality is always pleasant and helpful but this time the dining room was filled with very noisy and animated golfers, even after 1. My guest loved her steak tacos.
Sat on the patio in the shade, watched the golfers, and enjoyed the beautiful mountain, water, and golf-course views. They give you a very tasty popcorn appetizer. The drinks were delish - I had the Prickly Pear Margarita and it was very refreshing. I ordered the bruchetta board which was small for the money but very tasty. I didn't leave hungry though because our wonderful waitress came out with a delicious bread pudding dessert, compliments of the restaurant. I left feeling happy and pleased to spend a nice quiet lunch with friends in a beautiful local.
This is a restaurant most people would not be familiar with. It is casual and laid back. Sat on the patio overlooking the greens. I really enjoyed it and the fish and chips were perfect! This is a hidden little gem that would be perfect for a casual breakfast, lunch, or dinner!
Brittlebush Bar & Grill is right on par with Westin Kierland Golf Club on which is sits (pun intended). Both have a North Scottsdale ambiance for those who want a little elegance in their life. The menu does not have the variety of choices you might find in the mainstream restaurant, but it more than makes up for it in quality of choices, service and environs. You will actually enjoy your dining experience without the typical things that detract from it (noise, overtaxed servers and the such). We were there on Mother's Day. The reason: My mother so enjoys the Brittlebush, this was the third Mother's Day we have spent there (by her request and without objection from anyone). If you are looking for complete dining enjoyment, I believe you will find it here.
Overall, the experience was a good one, however, upon arrival, despite having a reservation for 11:15 am on Mother's Day, we were made to wait "while they prepped our table". The staff seemed totally disorganized and the host(s) and hostess were entirely unprepared as they all mulled around for 15 minutes prepping nothing while we stood around. If you have a sheet of reservations, why are NO tables set up in anticipation of your guests? Why was I asked FOUR times "how many in my party?" AFTER checking in at the hostess stand and then made to stand around for about 15 minutes waiting for our table to be set up? It made for an unnecessarily tense start to our Mother's Day celebration. Otherwise, the service was good and food good (and fast). One complaint there, however: what restaurant doesn't have ranch dressing for it's guests???? I'd rectify that one, especially when you serve wings
This is a lovely setting ar Kierland Golf Course with a clubby atmosphere, yummy food, cheerful wait staff and grand vistas off to the mountains and stretching along the green golf course. It is a little gem tucked away at the end of Golfgate Rd. North off of Greenway, just west of Scottsdale Rd. Sunday was perfect for sitting outside. Took friends who oohed about their choice of fish tacos. Steak grinders....happy time, good food, a real treat.
Just had lunch here today. Great service (thanks Caitlyn). Lovely golf course views and good lunch menu.
The fish and chips were very good. Nice light crispy batter and home cut fries. Would definitely order again. Caesar salad with salmon also good and nicely resented with whole romaine leaves and a Parmesan crisp. Turkey sandwich also nice and served on cranberry bread.
If you want a nice lunch with a low noise level, friendly service and good food check out the Brittlebush Bar and Grill!
Love taking new people here because they would never find this private area but public dining lunch and happy hour place on their own. There is only one road in at Golf Club Rd at the light just west of Kierland Hotel on Greenway. Service, food, ambiance is superb always. This is a great destination spot in the Kierland area. No traffic, noise, crowds. It is a true dining treat for lunch and happy hour.
Although menu has been pared down for summer, each dish has a selective and unique taste. My friend had yummy fish tacos and I had the Turkey Wedge. It is no ordinary turkey sandwich. Wonderful layered favors of bacon, generous turkey. Maybe cranberry but something sweet, and a complementary sauce on a grilled bread. Andrew the fabulous waiter makes your stay enjoyable with just the right amount of attentiveness. Views, intimate club feeling makes this a true gem of a oasis at Kierland Golf Course.
This is my third time bringing friends to enjoy this gem in the desert. Food is delicious, setting is like a private club with a sweeping vista of the McDowells across the golf course. But one of the best gems is the friendly service of Andrew. He never hovers but has an eye on your table and knows when to come by. He makes it special and an enjoyable dining experience for lunch or an early happy hour.
This diamond in the rough is found at the Kierlamd Golf Course. Great setting, comfortable and relaxing environment, exceptionally delicious food, and the service of Andrew was exemplary.
This is a great find for good food. My friends had the fish tacos and said they were the best they had ever had. Both being great cooks, the two were trying to detect the subtle ingredients.
Andrew knew we were catching up on old friendships, never hovered, watched to see when we were ready to order and made the whole luncheon fun and real. Have introduced two more friends to this well kept secret. They serve lunch and happy hour. Take the time to find this wonderful experience . Follow GolfGate Drive north of Greenway at the next traffic light just west of the hotel entrance. You will be delightfully surprised.
This spot is not just for the golfers - we enjoyed the bruschetta for an app - we then ordered the chicken wings, fish/chips and the panini and had nothing left. Chicken wings are nicely spiced and moderately saucy - fish was lightly battered and not greasy - panini was very flavorful, although I thought there the bread was a little too large and too toasty making it difficult to eat.
This friendly golf course restaurant is tucked away on the Kierland Westin property and is a local "find" with good food. Casual. Extremely friendly wait staff, and interesting food. At another season it would be fun to sit outside and take in the vast panoramic view. My friend had fish and chips and loved it. I had a juicy, tasty version of a turkey sandwich with some bacon. Prices are very fair. Again kudos to our adorable friendly waitress. Would definitely go again.
We have enjoyed many lunches in recent years at the Brittlebush Bar & Grill because it has much to offer. Good food, pleasant ambiance, and great service. Plus, the view stretches from the golf course next to the outside dining area to the McDowell Mountains in the distance. My lunch date enjoyed his Turkey Sand Wedge, which was a generous serving of sliced turkey breast on cranberry walnut bread. My choice was the Devil's Ale Fish & Chips, but it was disappointing. The meager amount of fish was lost in its deep fried batter. We usually choose a late lunch so we can avoids crowds. This time, the restaurant was busier than expected, maybe because of the fabulous weather, and the group gathering in the adjoining banquet room.
The food choices we made were wonderful. The prices are a bit on the high side. For example, it was around $45 for 2 entrees, 1 salad to split and 2 soft drinks. But the food was great. Service was friendly as well. Would go back. If you enjoy overlooking golf courses, this has nice scenery.
I found this place two years ago and always find it to be such an enjoyable place to dine. The scenery is awesome, looking out at the golf course. The ambiance inside is welcoming and cozy. The staff always attentive and friendly. The food always yummy and consistent. The lobster mac and cheese is a must but you will want to share it as a side dish. Warm, creamy and rich! I love the salads and the burgers are the best!
I had a delicious brunch at Brittlebush on Saturday morning! First, the coffee was excellent, from a local N Scottsdale specialty coffeehouse/roaster. We tried the scrambled eggs & smoked trout over fresh soda bread - delicious eggs with warm melted bites of goat cheese mixed in and lightly smoked trout. Also ordered the corn bread french toast, yum! Not too heavy or sweet, just really fresh tasting with a nice fruit compote on the side, plus agave syrup for the the real sweet tooth. I was also lucky enough to try my friend's vegetable strata, like a sliced gourmet style omelet with layers of Italian veggies, cheese, egg, and bread. I'll definitely be back to try more of the weekend brunch menu!
Everything about this experience was outstanding, from the moment we were greeted at the entrance with a sincere and warm hello until we were leaving the restaurant with cups of iced tea to-go provided by the thoughtful staff on a hot day.
The food was great. I had the slider burgers... three different types of meat (the lamb burger was amazing) made for a very nice variation on a classic. The polenta poppers (a separate side dish) were unique and very tasty. My friend had the chicken salad; I had a small taste and it had an excellent balance of flavor and texture. The chicken was in nice large chunks, and it was high quality meat.
If every future experience is as good as this one, looks like I may have found a new favorite dining ve
