Bristol Seafood Grill – Leawood, KS Ratings and Reviews
The food was great. The service was subpar. Our waitperson was dismissive, almost like we were bothering her. That was strange because we usually have excellent service at Bristol. We had a coupon for a free entree for my birthday and the waitperson pointed out to us 3 TIMES NO LESS the FULL price of the meal before the discount, no doubt making sure the gratuity was calculated correctly. First, we aren't idiots. We always tip according to the FULL price of the meal before the discount. Second, it was pretty ironic to have this pointed out to us 3 times when the service was so below Bristol's standards.
Nice place. Good atmosphere and very nice service. I had never been here before, decided to check it out for KC Restaurant Week. I don't know... Maybe they don't work too hard on the restaurant week meals. It was okay but would have been disappointing if I was paying full price. Desserts had great descriptions and mediocre execution. Clam chowder was indistinguishable from canned. Bisque was outstanding. Pretzel trout was good but not 35 a plate good. Overall fine but will pass on the future due lack of value.
We went out for dinner and a movie. Excellent menu. Nina was our server and she was great. We each ordered a cocktail and they were both innovative and delicious (blackberry martini and apple cider vodka concoction). We ordered off restaurant week menu and it was yummy (Pretzel crusted trout and salmon with lobster risotto). My salmon was not fully cooked but we had a movie to catch and I did not have the time or the patience to wait for it to be re-done. I ate what I could (and with those lovely biscuits I was plenty full). Nina packed our dessert to go and we had the most excellent movie snack!
Received a birthday offer and we enjoy eating here so we decided it would make a good weekday lunch. We were seated in a cozy booth in the center dining area, quickly offered beverages and fresh biscuits. Our waiter, Eduardo I believe, was very knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. I had the fresh grilled ahi tuna (w/asparagus and Yukon potatoes) my wife the almond encrusted tilapia. Both dishes were excellent, cooked to perfection, nicely presented and very tasty. We shared the key lime pie which was accompanied by a lemon sherbet, cherries and watermelon pieces ... also excellent. Great place for seafood!
