Bristol Seafood Grill – Leawood, KS Ratings and Reviews
My wife and I don't get out much now that we have a baby on the way (technically, two babies on the way). We received an email promotion to Bristol so that is why we decided on payday to go there because it's one of our favorites. We were sat by the fireplace which gave a great ambiance. They have a good draft beer selection (not great, but the local favorites were there) and we ordered two entrees and a desert. I had the Seafood Mixed Grill and my wife had the seared scallops. Both were amazing. I enjoyed the flavor of my seafood from the wood fire grill and the asparagus is the best I've had in a long time. Our server, Joe, was fantastic. My wife and I worked as servers in college and noticed he got triple sat rather quickly but that did not phase him. He was constantly observant and checking on us regularly. I always recommend Bristol to friends, family, and colleagues when they ask me for one of the best places to dine in KC. I really look forward to going back sometime soon as a party of 4.
We have gone to Bristol for Sunday Brunch several times. We have never been disappointed. Outstanding food and selection. We have had the same server a couple of times, Joe, he has been charming, friendly and helpful without being overbearing. Everything you could want in a server. Highly recommend.
We were there to celebrate a birthday. The table had some extra birthday decorative touches and a card for the birthday celebrant. Great food, extensive seafood menu. Beautiful interior and ambiance. Service was friendly, attentive and well paced. Thoroughly enjoyable evening!
The Bristol has never disappointed. A friend and I celebrate Christmas there every year, and every year just gets better and better. First of all, you just feel happy and welcomed when you enter the door. The restaurant is beautiful and the lighting is perfect. Ambiance is warm and inviting, noise level is 'just enough', never intrusive. Every one of the staff, from the hostess who greets you, to the attendant who walks you to your table, to the excellent wait staff (our waiter, Doug, in particular), make your experience a treat. The food, most important, was served so quickly that we thought it had been prepared in advance. No way. Our pecan trout was incredible. We practically licked the plate! I heartily recommend The Bristol for any occasion, from a casual lunch to a special occasion. You will have a wonderful time while enjoying a fabulous meal.
As usual, our meal at Bristol was outstanding. The service and food is rarely equaled in other restaurants and this visit was no exception. We loved the crab cakes and tried butterfish ( I believe that was the name), which was wonderful. There was a small mistake made with our order, which was quickly made right, then that item was removed from our bill. Thanks.
We had our anniversary dinner at the Bristol and it was awesome. Special card and place setting at our table as well as a champagne toast! Great service ! We were about 10 minutes early for our reservation, but they had our table waiting for us and seated us right away! Great place for a special event!
Our server was great. Gave us all the attention we needed without intruding. She knew the menu and made suggestions and could provide in depth descriptions. Food was beautifully prepared with artful presentation. The noise level was perfect, we could enjoy our conversations.
We very much enjoyed celebrating my wife’s birthday at the Bristol on Sunday. It was such a delight to hear the soft sound of live jazz coming from the bar area. We had not experienced live music while dining there before. Our server (Danny) was simply outstanding. He greeted us knowing we were celebrating a birthday and was most accommodating throughout the evening. Our dinner was absolutely delicious. Another marvelous date night at Bristol!
PS. Thank you for the complimentary dessert!!
We usually love the Bristol but this time the pacing of the meal was not very good. My entree came out and I was not yet half way finished with my salad. Plus, it was my wife's birthday, and she was the last person in a party of seven to receive her wine. Just not a lot of good communication nor coordination during the meal. The food was excellent.
Celebrated my wife’s Birthday which we do every year and we enjoy whole lobster. I called the Bristol over a week in advance to make sure they would have whole lobster and was told they would. I even made this request on my Open Table Reservatuon. However on our night there were no whole lobsters. We should have just left, so disappointed and a shame you cannot trust them to tell the truth when you ask a question
We’ve dined here numerous times and not had such a poor experience as this one. We waited for approximately 45 minutes from finishing our salad to getting our entree. Once received, two of the entrees tasted like they were thrown on an extremely hot grill so they could cook it as fast as possible. It was so Smokey you couldn’t even taste the fish. Very disappointing dinner.
