Bristol Seafood Grill – Leawood, KS Ratings and Reviews
Food and ambiance was wonderful as usual and our server was okay. But upon entering the restaurant there were 5 staff members waiting in a line at the desk and after I said hello not one expressed any response... Not a hello, not a smile, not a greeting of any sort!
Took my wife for Valentine's day. As always the Bristol delivers on that special occasion. The service is top notch and the food is on point. As someone who doesn't like seafood it is awesome that I can go there for one of the best steaks around. My wife also got to enjoy her seafood treat as well. Would HIGHLY recommend
Food was delicious, as usual. Is the only restaurant I've never had a bad experience. Our waiter on Valentines day was Ed and he is the most delightful waiter we've ever had. I highly recommend the Bristol for any occasion or no occasion at all. My favorite place to eat in Kansas City.
I took my wife for her birthday. It was a very busy night but we were seated within 6 minutes of our reservation time. Service and food were great, as always. Although it was busy, it was not overly noisy. We were able to talk at a normal level. We love the Bristol, especially for special occasions. We have never been disappointed in 18 years. We will be back, soon!
This is usually one of our favorite spots which is why we booked for Valentine's Day. We arrived 15 minutes before our reservation and were seated 15 minutes after our reservation in the bar area which was very noisy -- not exactly a romantic Valentine's dinner. The food was well prepared and hot and service was great. Just disappointed we were seated in the bar...
As usual, the food and service (Johnny Bristol) was outstanding! We sat in the room where parties are hosted. Nice and quiet there. If it's activity you like, ask to be seated in the bar area. This is, by far, has always been our favorite restaurant! Try out the Sunday Brunch. You will love it!
Booked over open table for 7:30 as special occasion. Arrived early, went into bar to have a drink. We were texted that our table was ready and they proceeded to take us back into the bar in the two seat booth by the bar. Not what I had intended for a special occasion.
People walking by constantly, noisy, and service was just okay.
Took the fun out of the special occasion.
Should have demanded to sit in dining room, but it was already 7:30 and did not want to eat any later than we already were.
Why would you check special occasion on the reservation if there is no purpose to do so?
The elegant ambiance and reasonable table spacing make this a great higher end ootuon for entertaining clients in a setting where can still interact and conduct business. The food was excellent and very flavorful, I especially enjoyed the fresh from the oven buscuits and whipped butter. They also had a special vegetarian menu (you have to ask for it) that please the vegitarian in our group.
I have gone to the Bristol for years, and overall been very happy with it, but most recently (the occasion of this review) I went for brunch on Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018. The service was wonderful and could not have been better. That said, the food left much to be desired. Primarily this was because the brunch offerings had not been refreshed. Most of the pans were almost empty; the food that remained in them looked congealed, the prime rib was way over-cooked, grainy and only small pieces were left (never refreshed with a new cut during the 2 plus hours we were there - at least that I noticed when passing by). On a second pass thru, some (but not most) of the hot items set up in the middle of the restaurant had been replaced with full plans and what I tasted from those pans was very good. Desserts had been picked over and options appeared not to have been replaced; I had to cut the top of the bread pudding with a knife meant for meat. So, while I can recommend the Bristol for lunch or dinner, I cannot recommend it for brunch, particularly when much, much less expensive (and better) brunches can be had all over town.
Excellent as usual, we enjoyed. the grits and the lobster risotto as sides with our grilled trout this time.
Cory was our waiter, whose positive energy was great, as well as his awareness of the need to not hover or be intrusive.
All good experience! Definitely recommend
