Bristol Seafood Grill – Downtown KC, Mo
Everything was fantastic. The extra care that went into decorating the table since it was my wife’s birthday to the service was amazing. It was a bit pricy, but I believe that you get what you pay for.
Graduation party that had great food and service. Highly recommend!
Celebrated a friends retirement. Lovely afternoon, exceptional service with Sassy Cassie!!
Food was excellent, management superb
Our waiter paid very little attention to us and gave no service it was handed down to lower staff food was lukewarm when served
Hostess messed up and marked our reservation as seated but we were not. Only caught after inquired why people coming in after us are being seated. Service was slow yet table seated just in front of us had plates cleared before we got our food. My fish was good but wife's was way too salty and both our lobster mac and cheese was warm at best but certainly not hot. Used to be our go to for special event but after this epic fail on Mothers day I do not see us going back anytime soon.
Dinner was excellent wait minimal our waiter was fantastic explained everything
First impressions are the lasting ones! Some buffet items were cold, some tasty, some not so much..Overall my dining expectations were not met... Maybe Leawood location is bette!
Having been to the Bristol numerous times in the past I was shocked by the general condition of the restaurant. The flooring was filthy and, granted, it was very busy on Mother's Day, the amount of food on the floor without anyone attempting to pick it up was embarrassing.
The table set up between seatings barely touched the table with a rag or wiped the seats resulting our table being pretty sticky.
The quality of the food was spotty, the oysters were of the lowest quality available from seafood purveyors. You had to really scrape the shell to get a little meat on your fork. The omelet / standing Rib roast station was under manned which meant one had to stand in a long line to be served.
The service was at best mediocre because the wait staff had too many table to serve.
And the noise was deafening!
Our experience was not what we had expected from the Bristol. Although the waffles were tasty the rest of the experience was strangely reminiscent of other well known chain buffet restaurants just at a much higher price point
Mothers Day buffet was VERY disappointing. The somewhat limited offerings were continuously unavailable creating long lines of people waiting for food to be delivered to the service area. I will not return.
We have been coming to the Bristol Restaurants since the seventies. This location still maintains their quality service. From the hostess to the servers, the service was good. The food didn’t disappoint either.
Best brunch in KC, good service, great drinks, valet parking is easy
I've never had such a poor experience. Understanding mother's day is busy, but the buffet setup at Bristol's is horrible, buffet line started at our table and we were forced to eat with butts and boobs in our face as line backed up due to omelette station. Never have I seen prime rib butchered on chunks on a platter not a good presentation. Harvey house in Union station much better food and quality. From deli sliced cheese to cheap fruit bowl, I will never return.
We have been coming to bristol on Mother’s Day for the last 4 years. We drive from Des Moines to attend their brunch. This year the guy cutting the prime rib was so rude didn’t make eye contact and was cutting the smallest pieces. I was getting a plate for myself and my 5 year old son, the prime guy wouldn’t put a piece of both plates. I had to stand in the line again to get an additional piece. When you have kids you cannot leave them unattended at a table, we stood in line for another 10 minutes. Also there needs to be non pork options, everything on breakfast table had pork in it- sausage gravy, bacon, sausage. So the only other choice for a meat was the prime rib.
WOW! What can I say but EXCELLENT! The buffets were all great from the breakfast food bar to the Omelette station to the seafood and prime rib bar then the grand finally, the dessert bar. Our waiter was very attentive but not overly bothersome while we ate. Really appreciate that kind of service.
If I had anything negative to say, the peanut butter cookies didn't have enough PNB flavor. Of coarse I'm a PNBaholic...:-)
Nice restaurant, good fresh seafood. I went at 1400 on a Saturday afternoon so it wasn’t too busy, we were seated right away and food came quickly. The hostess and server were attentive and nice. We had a couple hungry kids with us and they made sure they got orders in and food quickly. Very impressed with service and food was amazing. Only issue was no street parking, needed to park about a block away in a pay lot.
Food was good but you would think how much it cost it would also come with good service. We had to ask if someone could wait on us - like wow! As well, we were helped by 3 different people, unsure who got that tip. We even had reservations...
Dinner was fabulous but the service was subpar. That’s the first time we’ve experienced that at The Bristol. There was always a very long period between her visits to our table. Was just a little frustrating. Other than that, it was excellent!
Great food great service. Food is both simple and creative at the same time. They let the main food (fish) really stand out on its own but with Wonderful and perfectly paired side dishes. Wonderful balance.
Sat on the patio on a lovely evening. Our server was excellent, as was the lobster bisque! The key lime pie was a little disappointing.
I love the Bristol and I think they have fantastic food. However, this is the third time that I have been there before a concert at Sprint Center this year and the restaurant never seems to be adequately prepared or staffed for these events. All of these employees were no doubt working hard, but with waiters, bussers, and managers frantically running around the restaurant, it somewhat spoils the experience.
I’m also surprised the wine list has not been updated. The price of Kim Crawford has dropped significantly in the last few years, yet the Bristol is still charging $12 for a 6 oz glass. A bottle of Kim Crawford retails for $12-13. The only other Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is offered only by the bottle and is also significantly overpriced. Please consider offering another Sauvignon Blanc (not from California) that is reasonably priced.
Great service and excellent menu choices. Excellent location
The restaurant was not busy so I was surprised service was very slow. Our waitress paid very little, if any, attention to us. Didn't refill our drinks, didn't ask if we liked the food, didn't ask about desert - nothing. We had to flag her down for the check. When she dropped off the check - still didn't inquire if we needed anything else. Missed opportunity. I have enjoyed the Bristol in the past however our dinner experience last night was a disappointing.
It wasn’t busy, so they didn’t keep the food as fresh as they usually do. We had a 1pm sitting, and the bacon was gone and the gravy was cold and pasty. If that was my first visit rather than my 50th+++, it would have been my last.
It was brunch. Our fault, we expected the usual menu. The food was indifferent.
Great birthday dinner
Great experience! We did happy hour - bartender was fantastic, food was wonderful; and happy hour prices were awesome!
First, the timing was messed up & they serves our salads the same time as our entrees. Wtf! That was annoying - & it came w no apologies. The sides & salads were good but the fish was way overcooked. And this is supposed to be a restaurant specializing in fish! Adding insult to injury we requested a slow service and we were rushed from beginning to end.
I loved the noise level. Not too loud. Hooray for you. I think for most part, everyone enjoyed their food, it’s just someone got salt happy with my grilled chicken, asparagus, and broccolini. If I had not been meeting someone for a special occasion, I actually would have asked to have it recooked, it was that salty. However, the other two I was with said their soup, tacos and salmon was delightful. Waitress was wonderfully attentive. We were seated immediately as well and when we wanted to linger over coffee, wasn’t rushed out as some might do. Overall, it’s a great place. I think it was whoever the chef cooking mine was who just salted too heavily. If not salted that heavily, I would have given a 5 star rating.
Although the service and atmosphere are fine, the lobster macaroni and cheese was a huge disappointment, and it certainly wasn't worth $20.
Quality food - awesome service- Crystal was amazing! The entire party had a wonderful time.
Thank you for taking the time to give us 5 stars! Please come back and see us again! ~Zahra Almoamin, Service Manager
I had the Chef’s Special, which was a maple plank salmon. The salmon tasted “fishy” which was disappointing especially at a $33 price. The rest of the meal was fine but the Bristol is a seafood restaurant and the salmon should have been outstanding. Unfortunately, it wasn’t.
It was great! One of my favorite restaurants!!
The food here is fantastic! You have to try the firecracker cauliflower!
We found that the indoor restaurant was too noisy, we decided to sit outside since it was a rather war spring evening, that was fine and we where well talen care of. His was our anniversary dinner (30th) so that was special, and we were happy to received a nice note and a candle surrounded by hearts, and complementary sparkling wine. Our waiter was very friendly. A minus was no gluten free options/bread.
Excellent food and ambience! We dined on the sidewalk, so the noise level was higher.
As always, we enjoyed our visit. Great seafood and service.
The food was excellent! The service was excellent! The atmosphere was excellent! My family had a great time a d we look forward to our next experience there.
We always enjoy eating at The Bristol, but today the food left more to be desired. While items such as the tuna tartare were great, the hot buffet was tepid at best and the dining room was kept at a cold temperature, allowing the food to get cold as well. We will still return to the Bristol, but not when they offer the Easter buffet.
Food was excellent. Hit food was just room temperature when the pans were low.
Went for Easter brunch. We’ve been to Easter brunch several times over the last 5 years. Last year was the first we missed. So we don’t know if the changes we witnessed were plebe
Ted last year or tho year. Judging by the lack of people we thought the changes took place last year and people
Opted not to return. Three of us had Bloody Mary’s that were very watered down. They moved the carving station to the end of the cold seafood and salad area which made the area very congested and a long line. The mussels had many with empty shells and needed to be replenished and the cocktail sauce wasn’t replenished for the shrimp. The oysters were small. The prime rib was over cooked and lacked flavor. The Mac and cheese was good. The omelet station was also by the carving station so you had to stand in the long line to get an order placed. They need to go back to spreading out the stations between the 2 main dining rooms. It was less crowded that way and had a much better flow. We most likely will not return for Easter brunch. It’s not a good value.
