Bristol Seafood Grill – Downtown KC, Mo Ratings and Reviews
The restaurant was standing room only due to Lady Gaga concert later that night. We had a 7:00 p.m. reservation and didn't get seated until 7:30. Food was good, however they were out of some side dishes which we were looking forward to having. Our over sight for not knowing about concert, so be sure to check Sprint Center calendar if you're looking to enjoy special evening at the Bristol.
We were having a mother-daughters outing and attending the Lady Gaga concert at Sprint Center. We chose Bristol Seafood Grill and made dinner reservations! Wow! What a great choice. We had drinks and appetizers and our choices for dinner were scallops, lobster bisque, butterfish, and lobster tail for our entrees. Martin was our server and he was attentive while also recognizing that we wanted time to visit. The manager checked on our satisfaction. The service, food and atomosphere were excellent. We will come back the next time we in KC. Thanks for helping us make some fun family memories.
This was my first time visiting Bristol Seafood (Kansas City) and it was great. The ambiance, the service and the food were all "top notch."
I was celebrating my birthday and the table was decorated with a few sprinkles and a handwritten card which was a very special touch. I also received a celebratory, glass of champagne to commemorate the occasion. What a thoughtful gesture.
My server, Martin was very knowledgeable of the menu, the specials and the wine selections. He was extremely polite and attentive!
The crab cakes were all crab; not sure how they were able to hold together. Super delicious!!! Also had a lobster tail, which was also succulent and juicy. I would definitely recommend both of these selections.
Last, the manager visited each table to greet the guests and assure that the food and service were good.
I cannot say enough good things about Bristol Seafood. I love great service and letting others know where it can be experienced. Visit Bristol Seafood if you are in Kansas City.
Amazing experience! We loved the atmosphere! They printed special menus out with printings of congratulations for our twins (we had notified them on opentable that we were celebrating twins). Private rooms are beautiful, and good is great. Lobster bisque is a MUST!
Only downside to the night was the service was slow for such a large party, and they were not extremely busy but we were still often looking for our server.
Other than than, amazing experience.
Fish and patatoes were aver cooked. We ordered brussels sprouts and were served cauliflower, I ask the waitress about it and she said they were out of brussels sprouts but they never ask what I wanted instead. I’ve eaten at Bristol’s at town center, extremely good.
Have been going to the Bristol for more than 17 years for our anniversary as well as other occasions. This was the first time at the down town location. We really wanted steak and Bristol was touted to not only be great for seafood, but also for steaks. Both my husband and I ordered the Steak and scallops. While the scallops were excellent, both of our steaks were two degrees over cooked at best. Very disappointing. Service was really slow as well. Water was not refilled time and it was a Sunday night so not overly crowded.
We dine at the Bristol several times a year. Anytime we have a special occasion. Last Sunday we took friends for their first time. The buffet was disappointing. We are used to high quality and the buffet did not live up to our expectations. We will not be returning for the brunch buffet.
Been there during the week and love their food but the Sunday brunch food was not worth the time. The omelette was perfect but all the food prepared ahead of time for the buffet was either under cooked or over cooked. The bacon was cooked 12 hours too earlier.
Brunch at Bristol never disappoints! The fish and seafood items are always fresh & delicious, and the other items are yummy too. IMHO, when it comes to the desserts, do yourself a favor and stick with the creme brulee, key lime pie, or carrot cake. The cookies & mini doughnuts are ok, but they just don't hold a candle to the others.
I'm a big fan of The Bristol. However, the Pretzel Crusted Trout is a meal NOT to be ordered. I incorrectly assumed that the pretzel crust would be finely ground like bread crumbs. It was not; the crust was large chunks of pretzel. The trout was over cooked and the pretzel crust was burned black. My least favorite meal.
My date and I arrived a little late for our reservation. The host was courteous and helpful. The host honored our request to sit in front of the fireplace.
The service was friendly, efficient, and timely. Despite arriving late, we left in plenty of time for a casual stroll to the KC Repertory Theatre at Copaken Stage to see their amazing production of “Fences”
Our grouper and salmon entrées were excellent. My date was especially pleased with her salmon being prepared slightly less well than normal.
We arrived early for our reservation - were seated promptly - ordered immediately- then waited an hour and five minutes for our food. While the food was good, the service and ambiance were terrible - the downtown location is no comparison to the outstanding experience in Leawood - we will never go back
