Bristol Seafood Grill - Creve Coeur Ratings and Reviews
We had a wonderful evening at Bristol .
The fresh seafood selections were excellent and the preparation was superb. The Brussel sprout and parmesan roasted potatoes sides were fabulous. Our server was friendly and attentive. The wine list was also notable and we enjoyed a nice Oregon Pinot Noir with dinner. Bristol is always a must for dinner when we are in the St. Louis area.
Our server Andrew was fantastic! I can not say enough good things about him from the prompt service to the great small talk and just the right amount of knowing when to stay away! Andrew recommended a couple of items we never tried before and everything was perfect! We will definitely going back and asking for Andrew. My wife got the crab cake entree while I got the seared ahi tuna special and it was quite possibly the best tuna steak I have eaten.
Please stop what your are doing and ask for Andrew to be your server you will not be disappointed
We were very disappointed. Hadn't been to Bristol in several years as had moved out of town. I was looking forward to returning as it had been a favorite. My mussel appetizer was terrible. No flavor except the taste of strong old mussels. The waitress was very accommodating and removed them from our bill replacing the mussels with lobster bisque. While not the best I've ever tasted the bisque did have a lot of lobster in it. We both ordered the grilled seafood platter for $38.00 dollars, if memory serves. It contained a piece of coho salmon, 4 shrimp, 2 scallops all of which were overcooked and dry . My friend had a 9oz. and one 6oz. glass of Reisling and I had a cocktail and a 9 oz. glass of Sauvinon Blanc . no dessert or coffee and our bill was $140.00.
Oh well, another old favorite off the list!
Been coming here for many years. The food is always consistent with good oysters, salads, fish etc. Something prevents it from being truly great. It is very good. Maybe the size and the noise. The presentation is not always as it should be. A little sloppy looking perhaps but that does not impact the quality of the food at all. The service is always excellent and the bread you get before dinner is like eating cake. BTW the desserts will make you fat but they are worth every bite.
I made the reservation on line and requested special seating and noted that it was for a birthday. We were greeted with a thank you for joining us for your birthday, you table is reserved just like you requested. My friend said the Planko Shrimp was delicious. We received special attention; and complimentary dessert. The chocolate lava cake (served with a candle in the raspberry) was the best I've ever had. The box of cookies to go made for a nice afternoon snack; quite yummy. I'm making my friend take me there for my birthday next year. Too bad I have to wait until September.
My son requested your location to celebrate his 40th birthday dinner with his mother and son. I was very disappointed in the prices and the food was not what I expected for such an extravagant place for dining. It was nice that a card was on the table for a free dessert for my son for his birthday. My 8 year old grandson did not eat his grilled cheese but did eat his grandpa's French fries. They were very good. Tasted just like Steak N Shake. $150 for 4 with a few drinks was extremely expensive. I personally drank water, ordered just shrimp scampi off the appetizer and a cup of clam chowder that did have a pretty good flavor. My son did love the Carrot Cake.
Our server Kim was great. We appreciated the cozy alcove. We were there for our anniversary celebration with friends and were well taken care of. Treated to a free dessert was so nice. It was our second year to go there for our anniversary and it will be a tradition in the years to come. The food was amazing.
Good gluten free options. Given quiet booth as requested. Our waiter, Tony, did a great job of getting out food to us. Given free meal from restaurant via email for birthday and free dessert from Tony.
Food was excellent as was dessert.
Enjoyed a relaxing lunch with my husband.
We enjoy Bristol's because they have a good selection of fresh fish. Generally, they offer two or three types of fresh oysters also. The fish is skillfully prepared and not overcooked and dry. The restaurant lighting is subdued and gives a warm and cozy feel. Service is usually excellent and the wait staff is knowledgeable. The servers are efficient, but never hovering.
Service was gracious, ambiance old world and comforting, but a restaurant like this should have tablecloths to complete the experience. I would have ranked higher but the food was served tepid on a very hot plate. We started with delicious cauliflower and crabcakes tender with lots of crabmeat both well seasoned. Steak and tuna cooked to our order but not served hot. The roasted brussell sprouts were undercooked although well seasoned and delicious looking, it was raw and hard on the inside. It was bitter because the sweetness that comes from roasting did not develop. I hope this will help them to tweak things in the kitchen for a better experience.
