Nice restaurant. We've been to Briscola many times. Usually pretty quiet and above average food, but don't expect spectacular.
Return visit-food excellent, as usual. Great service. Highly recommended.
Terrible Italian, they don't know the difference between bolognaise sauce and vodka sauce, gnocchi were lumps of dough, shrimp scampi, oily, too much garlic. Not a good dining experience!
Just a poor experience!!! We were ther for a birthday celebration and it turned out to have cold food and poor service. Regardless of them being busy there are no excuses for cold food that should be served hot... Waitress seemed to give us the impression that we were not her primary focus.
We were seated in the outer room - the bar area. The space is nice, but less formal and intimate than the back room. Our table for four was a little awkwardly places at right angle to another table.
Our waiter, while friendly, was inexperienced and generally unfamiliar with wines and menu items.
I had the Veal Picatta. It was ok, but not outstanding. Two of the veal slices were tender, but the third was a bit tough and overcooked. I felt the sauce was a bit heavy on the cream and light on the lemon and capers. Sides are a la carte.
The garlic bread was not warm and was a bit dry.
Overall, the meal was not terrible, but nothing special. This was pretty standard generic Italian food. Since we are locals, I would probably not eat here again as there are other choices in town for more innovative Italian food.
Great food. Large selection. The chicken Parmesan was delicious. Atmosphere quiet and relaxing. Service was professional and attentive.
Enjoyed the food and service, only drawback, we heard our waiter reading specials to other patrons after we ordered. Disappointed we were not given that opportunity to enjoy the specials for the evening.
The restaurant and menu are very outdated. Food was ok but nothing exciting. Wine by the glass is a small amount. Can not believe this is a Charlie Palmer offering. I will not return.
Husband's chicken piccatta was fine. My chicken marshals was so dry I couldn't swallow it. Sent it back and DoD not get another. My choice. Corkage was $25.
Always an AWESOME experience! I visit Briscola at least once anytime I'm in the Reno / Tahoe area.
Great cocktails.. great food.. great service.. great meal.. prior to a Great concert!.. Meghan our server was very attentive!..
We were in Reno, NV, for a convention and did not know what to expect from this Italian restaurant at the hotel. We actually liked it so much that we returned the following night to dine ! This was some of the best homemade pasta and sauce that I have ever had.
I had Spaghetti Marinara and my husband had Vodka Penne. The garlic bread was to die for as was the gelato for dessert. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful.
The service was adequate at best. The food was over-priced and poorly prepared. It was barely edible.
Ate at Briscola prior to seeing the Donny & Marie show at Grand Sierra - food was good & the waitress did a great job.
Service was great, friendly, and prompt
Served clams that smelled rancid
Worst veal picatta ever
Fire the cooks
Food was great and we were happy that we were away from the casino! Had a great time!
The food was just ok, or fair. Neither my husband nor I were impressed with our meals (braised short rib raviolis - under cooked and chewy ravioli and filling was good, but not special) (Chicken parmesean - chewy). For appetizer we had the meatball trio. Its just 3 meatballs, not different kinds of meat which would have been nice. These were tasty, but boring. Trio of bruschetta - decent, flavorful, bread was still crisp. The best part of the meal may have been the garlic bread they serve to every table.
The menu looked ok, pizza would be what I would choose if I were to go back.
The service was great and the restaurant had nice decor and ambiance.
Very disapointed. I had the shrimp scampi linguine. Super bland. I think they firgot to use the wine or something. Shrimp seemed iffy cooked wise. Pasta had no flavor.
Dinner special (scallops) was superb!! Scott was a fantastic server.
Private message sent to Briscola with respect to quality of food. Excellent service.
The service was very good, we did not have to ask for anything during the meal. The food was not very good, the ravioli pasta was tough but the filling was good. The polenta was awful, it tasted like grits with some kind of seasoning that made it bitter. I know what good polenta taste like and this was not it. The side of asparagus was not good. The asparagus was put on the grill with no seasoning or oil, not even salt. It was bland and half cooked. The ceaser salad was bland, I have had better ceaser salad dressing in a jar. Overall for the price ($100+) I do not feel we got the meal worth the price. I would not recommend this restaurant to friends.
I took my boyfriend here for his birthday dinner. They sat us in a section that was more secluded and it set a more romantic mood. The decor was very beautiful and set the tone for the meal. Our server was very nice and attentive even though it was a secluded area, they never forgot about us. They served a warm garlic bread with marinara sauce that was so addicting the called it quits after the second round so we could enjoy our meal. We ordered a filet mignon and a pasta dish with clams. Every thing was perfect. The filet mignon was so tender and juicy. The pasta had a generous amount of clams and to make it even better they even topped it off with chopped clams. The wine that our server recommended was a perfect pairing as well. We also ordered a tiramisu that completed the whole meal. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone who would loves outstanding service and delicious food.
This was our first time dining at this restaurant and it did not disappoint. The food was great and the atmosphere wasn't as noisy as I was expecting since we sat near the entrance and the gaming area was close by. The staff was super attentive and welcoming. We definitely will be dining here again in the future.
Restaurant was almost empty/ Took 25 minutes to get drinks
Salami plate appetizer was pitiful. Charlie Palmer would never do this in Healdsburg
All entrees were poorly prepared
Service unprofessional
Atmosphere was terrible, back dining room was dark and were seated next to a dirty steel emergency exit door.
AWFUL
Had some great food. Service was excellent. All the employees from the front desk to the way out after the meal. Very friendly, really took care of every little thing. Did not have to wait for long periods of time before the server would check in on us.
In general I don't write reviews unless my experience was either very good or very bad. This restaurant was the latter. For a place that was trying to be perceived as a fine dining establishment, it lacked greatly on service , ambience and most importantly the quality of the food. The food was horrible and I hated myself for paying the outrageous bill. All four meals were slightly more than noodles that have been run under hot water and plated up.
Great restaurant for causal or dressy occasions. The food was exceptional.
Food was bland. Started with the salami platter that came with 5 very thinly sliced salami and 3 chunks of cheese. Short rib ravioli and Fettuccine alfredo had no flavor. Wouldn't recommend going unless you feel like spending a lot of money for blah food.
Great food and great place!
Yummy from start to finish! We also had a great young waiter!
Terrible food. Crappy, laminated oversized menus. Disorganized staff. Coffee undrinkable.
Food and service were amazing! Thank you for a spectacular dinner :)
Disappointed this time. Will try again in a few months.
Excellent menu but smoked trout was too salty, loved the shells, almost perfect.
This was my second time dining at Briscola and I absolutely loved it both times! Everything we tried on the menu was delicious, and they have a great wine selection! We celebrated our Anniversary here this past Wednesday and I'm SO glad we did. They brought us a delectable dessert with a candle and the service was beyond excellent. I vow to dine at Briscola every time I visit Reno!
Great food and great service. Nice quiet old school experience.
This was the second time coming to Briscola-Reno and both times have been great! The food is delicious and our servers were very personable, polite and professional! We look forward to coming again! I only wish they had just a couple more items to select from, but even if they didn't, that would not keep us from returning.
Great food!
The salad was old and wilty. The manager did not apologize for the lack of freshness. The clams had sand in them still as you can feel the grittiness when chewing. With the pricing of the food, you expect a higher quality of food and service.
We started going to Briscola thecday after it opened. We like the back dining room where the noise from the casinonis muted. We always get one of the two booths at the right which provide comfort and charm.
The food server and buser were great. (Have watched a turnover of servers.). Hold onto the good ones.
It is cost effective to pay more to get more.
Thankful for our 39 year anniversary at Briscola !
