Enjoy a fine dining experience at Brio, which serves quality Italian cuisine made with fresh, in-season ingredients. The head chef crafts each plate to be tasty and aesthetically pleasing. Outdoor seating is available, making Brio the ideal spot to take in the surroundings and people watch during dinner. The blend of contemporary and rustic décor inside provides the right spot for a relaxing meal. With a full bar stocked with wine and cocktails, Brio always has the right accompaniment to any menu item.
Select from some of Brio's popular dishes, like the tagliatelle alla bolognese or the seafood special. Another guest favorite is the black linguine and shrimp in tomato sauce.
Will miss it, too bad things went south. Rumors are swirling as to what, but none-the-less it will be missed.
Fabulous fresh salmon tartare. Risotto excellent. Very nice menu all around. I look forward to returning. Also beautiful tuna carpaccio. Everything was fresh and delicious.
Have been here a number of times and enjoyed each occasion. While it sounds cliché, it is something of a hidden gem as it doesn't stand out much from the outside.
It could best be described as a neighbourhood joint given its friendly atmosphere and what seemingly looks like locals coming and going. Good wine also
Can recommend Pizza, pasta or their mussels. Will def. be returning
Quite a pleasant surprise! Quaint, intimate and not sure if it's because we were hungry, but the food was heavenly.. We are definitely coming back!!
I first enjoyed how quiet and not terribly busy this location was, until I realized why. My party didn't feel welcome at all. He questioned a couple of our orders and tried to push other items on us. Felt awkward. Too many restaurants in NYC to go back to this one again.
I enjoyed lunch here the other day with my friend. We shared a salad with chicken, corn and tomatoes which was nice. The really unbelievable thing was the pumpkin (or butternut squash..can't remember) ravioli in a parmigiano/butter sauce. Really incredible!
Enjoyed dining outside, salmon was delicious and prepared perfectly.
A safe choice in the neighbourhood, where there are so many exaggerated addresses.
Great neighborhood spot for a glass of wine, pizza, pasta or even the burger. One of my go-tos. Only gripe is the back room feels like an 80s mobile home to me- could use a make over.
I had a young friend who I did a favor for and he wanted to take me out to dinner and knowing the budget was low for my friend I made sure I looked at the menu's and their prices before I booked. I was furious when we got to the restaurant and their menu had gone up drastically. If it was only ten percent but it was over 25% increase so be aware they have increased their prices but have not bothered to change it on their web site. For that alone I would not go back. Could not believe as an appetizer salad was $19.50 I have not paid for a salad at that price at the best restaurants in town let alone a small bistro!!.
Have been many times. This time pizza was not hot and the waiter in back room is wacky. Been there a while but heard complaints and he has strange personality. Normally love Brio b
Never a bad meal... Always great friendly service... perfectly made pastas and soups... What more can be said except a great local joint that delivers a great meal every time!
I've come to brio in the past but just for Tea/Coffee and it has been on my list to try for lunch. I did so last weekend and it was ok.
I arrived before my lunch date and barely received any attention from the wait staff. I had to flag someone down to take my food order. I ordered the Pollo Rustico and it tasted "meh". Maybe I should've tried something else.
I plan to give this place another shot in the future.
Went there on Saturday for dinner with some NYCer's who really knew NY (5 of us). Brio hit on all cylinders -- some of the best pasta, pizza, seafood dishes you will find in NYC. Hip/cool vibe in restaurant, all servers were spot on. They really didn't miss a beat -- I'd stack them against any four-star restaurant I've ever been to (and that's a lot). Don't hesitate! Not sure who the Chef is, but they're amazing!
Our meals were very good to blah. Inconsistent. .bread was stale...service good
Used to be a great neighborhood standby. Two of three pasta entrees came swimming in oil. The third was a special that was bland. Disappointing meal.
We enjoyed our entrees, mine an amazing ribbon pasta with mushrooms, cherry tomatoes and crumbled sausages.
My good friend has a vegetable dish, with pasta, which she said was great.
We split a green salad, also good.
Our drinks were delivered quickly and our waitress was very helpful with the selections.
I used a restaurant.com coupon, which they accepted with no problem (and we tipped on the original total, of course).
For dessert, we had tiramisu and a gelato with espresso poured on it. (The gelato was a mistake because the espresso melted the gelato, making it more of a shake than a solid serving.)
Overall, we had a wonderful experience, and I will recommend it to others!
Attentive staff, enjoyable lunch. good spot in a highly competitive area.
I love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home...the kale salad was good but would have tasted better w/ some dried cranberries or pinenuts...overall it was ok
After a long hard day this place delivers a cozy welcoming experience serving very well prepared and delicious food… It is one of the best casual Italian's in the area… There's a reason others have come and gone and these guys have been here ever since I can remember!
The Octopus appetizer and quatro artichoke pizza are good.
I was out searching for a good place to have my first date, and I must say I fell in love with Brio restaurant at first site. I like the modern setting, my date does too, and I'd definitely recommend Brio to any guy hoping to have a successful date :)
We had a lovely dinner, good service, and I will certainly go back to Brio. There is outdoor dining, and it would have been a perfect evening to sit outside, but the tables are on the sidewalk at a busy corner with lots of traffic. We chose to sit indoors with comfortable a/c and no horns honking.
Casual and comfortable spot for good food and well made drinks. The atmosphere accommodates a mix of customers including couples, families and adult groups with ease. The lighting, table spacing and sound make it comfortable for all.
Inattentive service, food was very average and over-priced for the quality. 80s music playing too loudly. Had to ask for our cheque three times. Great location, but that's about it.
We come for lunch. We come for dinner. Consistantly excellent. Service is friendly. Hands on owners who are lovely and accommodating.
Good place to go before going to the theater. Food and service are fine. Informal setting.
Great for quick bite and not having to make a reservation. Sometimes it's nice to go somewhere easy.
Go here a lot and always enjoy the meal and service.
Some standout dishes (soft-shell crab and lobster salad), but mostly very nice, but unmemorable Italian staples. Atmosphere is casually elegant; service could have been more attentive.
Keep going back - will go again.
they added more tables and its very busy but the service doesn't keep up....they dont clear tables before the next course..wine takes forever to arrive (recently moved the bar)...we saw a couple of bad spills by waiters of food all over the diners....the prices are not low so one expects a certain amt of service and until recently it was fine....hope it doesn't stay like this b/c we love this restaurant.
We go here often and always receive good food and good service. Decent price and delicious bread to start. Caesar salad is big enough for two people.
Food is consistently good and fit for foodies. A go-to in midtown east especially in a pinch or when shopping. Service is subpar in the bar area simply because its too busy - I dont recommend ordering entrees at the bar. Waitstaff is semi-attentive and definitely not the friendliest.
One waiter rolled his eyes because I placed my purse on an empty chair in an empty restaurant...give me a break.
Great pizza and excellent service!! Love the modern atmosphere. The service was excellent, our server was very friendly, kind and attentive! Lively atmosphere fun place!!
Food is good. Had Sunday brunch here twice. The salmon entree with sauted spinach was very good. The four cheese pizza looked better than it was, although it was fine with a mixed salad. I wouldn't go for a special occasion, but it is a fine choice for a good, reasonable meal, especially for lunch or brunch on the weekend. The service was spotty, and some of the rattan chairs are extremely uncomfortable. They happily switched the chairs for us to a more cushioned style. I would definitely recommend as stated above. Would probably even try for an informal neighborhood dinner.
Great food, relaxed atmosphere, knowledgeable and friendly staff. Who could ask for more v
Brio has a large enough menu to enable selecting an appealing meal. The seafood tagliatelle was quite good, as was my friend's chicken. Moderate pricing is welcome.
The food was great and the waiter was sooooo accommodating in organizing the food so my friend and I could split dishes. The waiter also was great at letting us experiment with different cocktails based on us having only a small idea of what we wanted. Really fun.
Pasta was delicious ! Real Italian home cooking. Staff was friendly, efficient without being intrusive. Definitely would go back.
