BRIO Tuscan Grille - Richmond - Stony Point
Food was delicious!
BRIO wasn't ready for Mother's Day this year. This was very disappointing this year to see this. The ladies at the front desk were very good with the people. The food was late and had no taste to it. When there is a Holiday you need more help. I have always rated BRIO as very good - this time it was terrible. Won't go back again on a holiday. Too many people, I was seated before two other people that reservations were before mine. Very confusing day - wished I had gone some place else.
Though we had reservations, we waited for 45 minutes to be seating and we were told that was ok because others who had reservations had to wait too. No apologies for the long wait time, etc. Our waitress seemed inconvenienced by us and did not check on us during the meal nor did she refill our drinks.
My wife and I go to Brio a couple times a year as we have for several years. We love the food. While the food was ok, not outstanding, service was an issue. We ordered an appetizer, I ordered a salad with my dinner. Both appetizer and salad arrived at the same time. Well ok, we dealt with that. Two minutes after that our entree arrived. The server came by, apologized, said she would take them back and keep them warm (a hard no), then had them remade when we were ready. We ordered coffee with dessert my wife got hers, waiting on a new pot for mine. After we ate our dessert my coffee finally arrived. The server may have been new. But she was pleasant and tried to make things right. Brio seems to have lost its edge. I think we’re going to try some new places rather than go back there.
We eat frequently at Brio, and the food is generally very good. The accoustics in the restaurant can lead to higher volumes than you might want in a "nicer" restaurant, although that does depend on where you sit, time of day, day of the week, etc.
Service was a little slower than usual on this visit - but it was pretty busy. And while the wait staff is generally very friendly, sometimes they tend to "gush" a little more than necessary, and it comes off feeling forced and, frankly, a little "too much", rather than genuine.
Additionally - can you PLEASE train your wait staff to address women as "Ladies", or "Gals" at least? Too often, when I've dined with my daughter or another female friend, we are addressed as "Guys". I'm turning into my mother, I realize that - but this really is not very polite, even by today's standards, unless you're eating fast food - and I don't think Brio wants to be in the same category as McDonald's!
Salad was brown. Service was slow.
We were seated outside on a lovely Spring evening, so ambiance was delightful and minimal noise.
Rick/y, our Server, was great and attentive.
The food was good. Salmon Fresca , in particular.
With the exception of the Calamari: it looked and tasted like all same size thin rubbery strips that had been coated and fried. Did not ‘look’ like calamari? No ‘legs’, etc.
This used to be one of my favorite places for dinner and I hadn't been in probably a year prior to last Sunday. We had reservations for 6, the place was empty and yet they sat us right next to the wait station and side doors to the patio. So we heard all of the gossip of the staff and frequent people bumping our chairs going to and from the patio. The food was less than expected. Why did you change the Calamari - it now tastes frozen, over breaded with no flavoring, we get half the amount. the bartender was super slow to even acknowledge us and was clearly not having a good day. I will not be returning and am very disappointed in how this place has changed.
Waiter was not very friendly, and 4 out of 6 people got something on their meal wrong out of the kitchen. All of the steaks were over cooked and 1 person wanted something that they ended being out of. Overall terrible experience, will not be back.
I come there for lunch more often than an evening meal but whatever the food is always just fine the service is always just fine this was Easter Sunday and so to have excellent service that day was really something to b proud of
Celebrating my husbands birthday weekend
We had reservations for 10 for Easter brunch. We arrived 45 minutes early, so I checked in just in case they could seat us early (not really thinking they would- They were pretty busy). We were seated 25 minutes before our reservation time. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. The food was good. Had a great time. Thank you, Brio!
I thought everything was fine until the ride home when my Husband said that his lasagna was cold. I asked him why he didn't send it back and he pointed out that no one came by to check on the quality of the good. Overall a good (not excellent) experience.
We had a wonderful Easter luncheon with you. Our service was fantastic and the food was delicious. We sat by the back door, which was a bit chilly, but didn’t dampen our day!
I never write reviews, but for Easter Brunch, this was super disappointing. The food was awful. The French toast was so soggy you needed a spoon. My poached eggs were as hard as rocks and the ham on the biscuit was like leather. Even the hot tea was barely passed warm. Overall no one really cared about us or the food or the fact that are plates were still full after being finished.
We have always enjoyed the brunch at Brio, however today the experience was less than pleasing. The service was slow and the food was cold. Very disappointing since we had all been looking forward to their special French toast and omelettes.
Food was perfect. We arrived at 10 AM expecting brunch, but were given lunch menus. We paid for hot tea but were served cups of cold water. We had to ask for sugar for the tea and ketchup for the fries. One chair was broken so we traded with another table. Over all a good meal, but not up to Brios’ usual high standard.
The food is delicious and the outdoor patio is great when the weather is nice.
Food was not as good as usual
Mashed potatoes were dry and stay out all the service was in effective and efficient
Very nice atmosphere. Food was mediocre at best. Calamari was cold and felt like it came from a Box.
This group meets at Brio every month or so. This time our group numbered 10 (whereas we usually are 5 or 6). Our server was not efficient in serving our food and orders came out at very different times. Those several of us who ordered soup & salad received soup first and then a very long wait for salads. Always in the past, those ordering soup & salad received them TOGETHER. The wait for checks was unusually long. We got the feeling that either our server was new or the restaurant was understaffed.
Met our son for lunch and always really enjoy Brio.
Wonderful restaurant with good food and good deserts!
Sever was pleasant, accommodating and attentive. But we were disappointed she didn t initiate or react to our
Concern/disappointment re food.... our plates we full and pushed to the side, we asked questions and complained.
Food was not good...
Chicken pesto flat read was served cold.....
Shrimp Capri (or what it used to be called) wa cold, tasteless, tomatoes skins tough, shrimp chewy...
Put shrimp back on angel hair and increase the garlic... like before.
Value was NOT THERE ... 2 of 3 entrees were hardly touched...
if we go back, I guess you have to complain louder !
The atmosphere, service, and food were excellent as always.
Delicious meal and the perfect place to stop for a shopping break!
Enjoyed as always!
The hostess insists on seating older customers at the back of the restaurant almost in the kitchen in spite of many empty tables and booths.. I usually refuse because of the noise level from the kitchen. but my guest was already seated so I agreed. Our server from the bar area did the best she could but had too many customers to handle. We had to ask other servers several times for help, water, check, etc. Service is usually good but not this time. Food was fine as always.
35th Anniversary of guests
Great food and great experience. Never a disappointment.
Food was good and service was great. It was chilly where we were and several people in our group of 12 had to keep their coats on the entire time.
I would recommend to a friend with reservation. Brio used to be my "go to" restaurant. But the past two times that I have been there, the service has not been great (yet neither time was crowded). This time, I asked for a salad with grilled salmon. The salad came with grilled chicken instead. When I pointed out to the server that I had ordered it with salmon, she apologized, but did not offer to take it back and correct it. When it was clear she really didn't care, I said that I guess I could eat it with grilled chicken and, instead of insisting that she fix the order, she said nothing. In addition, she disappeared and we waited a very long time from the time she brought our checks to the time she picked up our payment. The time before, the music was extremely loud. It was lunchtime and there were many elderly patrons. We complained about how loud the music was and we were told the amplifier was broken and the volume couldn't be turned down.
I ordered the Scallops special and they were given to me BURNT. Very disappointed that you would serve that to anyone.
The service was terrible when we could find our server. The food was not good. Very disappointed. Last attempt to give them a chance to get it together.
My mother ordered a
Chicken dish and it was too seasoned she couldn’t eat it. The pasta bolognese was ok. Wine my husband orders was no good, dads so so and at the cost per glass a disappointment. The one things we did like at the table was a shrimp app. Wouldn’t go back.
Steaks were not cooked to order. One was overcooked and was way undercooked. Prices have gone up considerably for their steaks. Menu choices have been back. Service was fair at best.
Great food and service! The chocolate lava cake is one of the best desserts I have ever had!
Courtesy and professionalism are main positive characters of staff specially Kelsey the manager
