The food, presentation, ambiance and service were great! It was almost a perfect experience. We decided to get a bottle of wine that was included in the menu for Restaurant Week for $75. When we looked at the price and rating we were a little disappointed, it was a $14 bottle with 3.4 stars in Vivino. They had several options to add as extra charge in the ‘set’ dinner menu for Restaurant Week. This also was a little disappointing, we felt they were nickel and diming us. If a restaurant wants to participate in Restaurant Week then do so.

Great visit! Evan is a great server who keeps drinks full, knowledgeable about the menu, and friendly. Wish the music was louder as I’d rather be listening to it than the table next to mine’s conversation, especially for a late-night weekend meal. Great value during restaurant week, but will definitely be back throughout the year.

My wife and I went for restaurant week and we were excited to try this new restaurant out. However we quickly realized that they severely cut down the portion sizes for restaurant and both of us left the restaurant not even full. The salmon entree I ordered was only 4 oz. Not really enough for a dinner entree at $59. Both desserts were excellent though. Also didn’t like the fact there was a 4% surcharge and an automatic 20% tip applied to the bill. Doubt we are going back as there are better options in Chicago.

This was BY FAR the best restaurant experience we’ve had in a long time! The atmosphere was exceptional, the service was beyond compare. We had a couple of special requests (we were there during restaurant week and wanted to try some things off of the main menu) which they accommodated happily and went above and beyond. Evan, our server was fabulous. Fabulous. Friendly, attentive, kind, thoughtful and exceptional! Michael, the owner, suggested an incredible wine and the chef was beyond compare! We can’t wait to return to Chicago just to enjoy this restaurant again!!!

Lovely, simply prepared French food with a bit of Moroccan influence. The flavors are clear and delicious. Nothing is muddled. The warm grey room is simply furnished, and the lighting is easy on the eyes. The noise level is reasonable, although it would have been a little nicer perhaps to have French music, rather than American pop as background. Cocktails were interesting (Scotch and Chartreuse!) and there was a lovely 2016 Cabernet Franc by the glass. As it got crowded, service became a bit slower, but no matter, Brindille is a culinary jewel in the heart of Chicago.

My wife and I dined at Brindille during Restaurant Week. Both of us had the Woodland Mushroom Soup and I have to say, it was excellent. Anyone can make a good mushroom soup, but this was an excellent mushroom soup. Rich, hearty and the umami flavor of the mushrooms was outstanding. For our main course, my wife had the Pork Loin Chop which was very tasty and as another reviewer mentioned, it was quite large. I had the grilled steak and it was prepared correctly but to me, the chef used a bit too much salt when grilling the steak and making the cognac sauce. Unlike our last time at Brindille, the desserts were very, very good. The Oeufs a la Niege & Profiterole were of the caliber that you would expect from Brindille. We did not order any wines. For some reason, I never feel comfortable ordering wine here, so we tried one of their featured cocktails. For a couple that doesn't drink cocktials, the Brindille French 75 was very good. Don't come here and expect a quiet dinner by candlelight. The noise level in the room increased as the night went on. The more alcohol that was consumed, the louder it got and by the time we left, my ears were beginning to ring.

Went to enjoy the restaurant week menu. The house was full, the staff was limited and the pace of food service for a restrictive, three course meal was relatively slow (well over two hours). We ordered bread (for an up charge) and it arrived after we finished our appetizers because (we learned) it was baked to order. The appetizers ( mushroom soup and a coddled egg dish) were OK, and the entrees (salmon and steak entrecôte) were also OK, neither underwhelming nor overwhelming. Pretty much the same for the desserts (a profiterole and a clafoutis, which we did not notice until the check arrived that this option was an $18 upcharge). The wine options were satisfying and we enjoyed a white and a red. The service staff is efficient and professional, and the room when full is on the noisy side, but not so loud that you must yell to converse. Overall it was a decent night out, and we like to support locally owned and operated restaurants, but we had higher expectations (based on past experiences at NAHA, a now-closed sibling restaurant) and the experience did not quite live up to that.

I visited Brindille for the first time during Chicago Restaurant Week and absolutely fell in love. I was intrigued by many of the options, but ended up having the Chilled Oysters, French Prime Sirloin "Entrecôte" Steak, and the Oafs a la Beige for dessert. I also ordered the Romequin of Duck Liver Foie Royole. My only complaint is that the duck liver dish needed more bread for the amount of spread received. Thankfully I was able to order more bread, though. I will definitely be back for a special occasion or date night in the future!

This was the abbreviated restaurant week menu. We had an early seating, no waiting, nice table. Prompt service. Very tasty wine, a 2017 Pomerol blend. Appetizer courses were fine, we added the duck liver pate special addon, and it was tasty. For main courses, we had the sirloin steak au poivre, and the pork chop "L'Apicius". The steak was cooked perfectly, served sliced. We expected the cognac sauce to be creamy, but it was more a reduced steak juices, still tasty. Not a big hunk of meat. The pork chop, by contrast, was a big hunk of meat. Thick and not particularly tender, I think needed a bit more time on a bit moister heat. Desserts were good. The check was delivered promptly. No coffee or after dinner drinks were offered. I checked the menu for L'Apicius, a Michelin star restaurant in Paris. 250 euro pp, plus wine. I don't think they would serve a pork chop prepared like Brindille did, just sub-star quality. Even at restaurant week prices, Brindille is still an expensive dinner. The pork chop was not a good value. A diner at the adjacent table enjoyed her salmon (but still asked the waiter to warm it up a bit).

Our server Jeremy was excellent. We enjoyed the restaurant week menu, and we were happy with the additional course we ordered which was duck pate. It was rich and served with delicious accompaniments, and was large enough to share. We've been to Brindille a half a dozen times and will continue to return.

The skill in the kitchen is undeniable. The coddled egg appetizer is scrumptious. Oyster mignonette very well done. Salmon was cooked as ordered. Entrecôte was a little small, but perfectly rendered. Pork chop portion was large and very tasty. This restaurant really knows how to handle varied veggies. List too long to specify. The cookies and the profiterole dessert were outstanding. Wonderful Restaurant Week dinner.

Our experience was outstanding. The food was excellent. The best oysters I have ever had and the quail was very very good. A nice cocktail and a great bottle of wine. I will definitely be back and I highly recommend. Amendment: I went back for a second time during Chicago Restaurant Week. The experience was completely different. I had the oysters again and they were just as good. However, I followed that with the pork chop and it was dreadful. It was served nearly raw. The worst thing in the world is undercooked pork and this was bad! I sent it back and requested another. In about 10 minutes, a second pork chop was delivered to the table. This time it was beyond over-cooked. It was well done with a charred taste. I couldn’t help but think this was done purposefully. As in, the cooks in the back were like, “ we will show him”. It was pretty much inedible. They did comp my cocktail but, unlike after my first visit, I won’t be returning anytime soon.

We wanted to go to this restaurant for a long time and chose News Years eve. It’s pricey so special occasion and also award winning. Our expectations were very high. I was happy to see Dover sole on the menu. My husband chose a pork chop. We had a $40 mushroom appetizer. (Nothing special) Randy, had a nice red wine. Me, my traditional old fashioned with xtra cherries in a sticky glass was brought to the table. I sipped a few sips, hands got all sticky/. I asked the bus boy when I could not see my waiter to please clean the glass. He brought it back with a little less drink. It seems they could have simply remade it. The waiter came over to make a point to say “ it was probably all the xtra cherries you wanted.” An odd an unnecessary comment to make. Randy took a bite of his pork chop. It was so salty. (I tasted it—it was way too salty ). We sent it back to do over. They arbitrarily added Fois gras to the dish as compensation for the mishap. Not something my hubby eats. Ever. It was brought back -meanwhile my $100 Dover sole was cold. I really wanted this to be exceptional. We were asked by Randy’s mom on our weekly call today how it was. We hadn’t talked about it since we were out at an event till 3 am. Unfortunately we had to say the experience was less than acceptable. I hope they improve. There are too many amazing restaurants in our hometown to support restaurants that simply fail to delver on simple things.

This was a 2.5 hour dinner. Took 45 minutes to get one very disappointing frisée salad. Soggy and tasteless. One hour and 40 minutes later we were served our dinner. Husbands duck was very good, my European sole was not warm and again tasteless. Interestingly enough, the table of 8 who obviously knew the owner and were seated an hour after we were, were served their meal immediately after ours Our waiter, Evan, was pleasant and comped our dessert. Overall, skip it and save the $$$$$$$

The ambience upon arriving was warm and inviting, including the welcome of the host. We were seated immediately for our reservation. Our server, Evan, was helpful in selecting wines and meals that suited our tastes. Our Hors D’oeuvre, the Tarte Tatin, was full of flavor and served hot. We ordered the Pan Au Lait rolls, which were fresh baked and brought with our entree’s. We used them as the meal progressed to enjoy the incredible sauces. My wife had the Dover Sole, and I had the Roast. Brace of Quail. Both were superb. The Quail was so juicy and tender with incredible flavors, and not gamey, as one other reviewer had suggested. For dessert the Warm Baked Clafoutis was the perfect finish for a cold night. Our highest recommendations for this lovely French Bistro!

I was disappointed in the quality of the food, which was served with tea and optional alcoholic beverages. In addition, the room was crowded and extremely noisy, and when I mentioned the noise to one of the proprietors, she attributed it to "a lot of women who were drinking," while it was in large part due to the very poor acoustics of the room. I've had excellent food at the restaurant, when I ate at an early hour either outside, or inside the restaurant before it was crowded.

Wonderful hospitality, lead my weight staff, who made us feel as though we were in the home of a gracious relative. Food was amazing, beautifully presented was very interesting flavor profiles. Only slight constructive comment relates to the timing of the main courses. Two arrived, and we had to wait several minutes for the other two dishes to be on the table. Would have been nice to have all four arrive at the same time. Other than that a beautiful evening.
