Foie Gras best in Chicago. Excellent service. Inventive cocktail menu & they offered an Armenian wine since chef/owner is Armenian that was superb. Fine dining at its best
This was our third time dining at Brindille and it never disappoints. New additions to the menu for fall were a wonderful surprise, especially the sweet corn chowder! The service is exceptional and we were thrilled with suggested wine pairings for our food selections. Save room for dessert.
The noise level was horrible. Like concert loud. Hard surfaces and voices competing to be heard. The food and service were outstanding but the noise level for the type of food and the physical ambiance are completely incongruous. What a little acoustical foam on the ceiling would do to absorb bouncing noise, if only they’d spend a little money.
Outstanding food and service. It was everything we could hope for on our anniversary. Would definitely recommend and if you can , get one of the multi course options. So good !
Very good food prepared and served with loving care. Wonderful wine list.
Fabulous! The decor and menu created an ambiance rarely seen.
Great food...Excellent service....the noise level was s bit of a challenge, but I’m old. There were 6 of us and everyone was delighted with their experience. We will all be back.....
Very bad service. More than an hour wait for the main course.
This was one of the best meals I’ve ever eaten. All of the staff was friendly and helpful and welcoming. Nothing was rushed. The restaurant decor is tasteful. And every bite of food was excellent. My entree, the early autumn farm plate, was possibly the best plate of food I’ve ever had. I don’t think this restaurant can be topped, at any price.
We enjoyed our dinner very much. The service was great, the food delicious, and atmosphere wonderful.
Happy to find a Chef run restaurant with high quality food selections and preparations.
Very clean, modern interior. Many locals were frequent guests which speaks to consistency.
Very generous portions and interesting cocktails and wine list.
Loved our dinner here! Came for my boyfriend's birthday and everyone at the restaurant, especially our waitress Careen, made us feel so special and well taken-care of. Food was spectacular. Careen suggested pairings for everything and even let us get half glasses so that we could get more tastes! Restaurant is beautiful and romantic. Would definitely come back.
Serviceperson was somewhat loud and "too much." We had 5 courses between the two of us; 2 were very good
Although the restaurant called itself a French restaurant it did not seem that way at all. They required a credit card to hold the Tuesday night reservation but only one third of the place was booked. Seemed a bit pretentious. With so many wonderful restaurants in Chicago we will not be returning.
The food was beautiful and delicious. Artistically and lovingly prepared. Quite a remarkable experience. Bravo Chef Carrie!
Unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience. We arrived at 6:30 and was seated promptly. After considering the pre fixe options, we decided to order ala carte. A starter potato dish arrived and it was good, then our drinks maybe 15 minutes later. Maybe around 7 our appetizers arrived, and they were okay. Then, our entrees didn’t arrive until approximately 8:20. The waiter apologized several times, acknowledging the delays, but seriously, it was too long. When the food finally did arrive, it wasn’t hot (the steak was luke warm at best) and it frankly wasn’t very good. It was apparent from the tables around us that the folks who ordered the pre fixe menu were given priority. We didn’t order desert, and the waiter removed the drinks from our bill. Having loved NAHA, and after seeing the reviews, we had high expectations, but this was a total miss. A bummer, but we won’t be back, and we strongly suggest diners look elsewhere.
My meal was outstanding but what really stood out was the service. Every single person, from the person who showed me to my table, to my waiter (I think his name was Evan) were fabulous and enthusiastic about the food and the place they work. I was fortunate to meet the Executive chef as well and she was just charming and so friendly. It's nice to see that the woman behind such remarkably good food is also a truly nice person. My favorite dish was the halibut. It was done to perfection.
Wine list is excellent but price structure is on the outrageous side
Good food! The service is good too! But I think that the restaurant is expensive.
My favorite restaurant in Chicago. Inventive, seasonal, delicious food in an atmosphere that is elegant without being stuffy.
As always, the food was phenomenal. But what made this visit incredibly special was the outstanding service. Everyone we encountered seemed to truly enjoy their work, and went above and beyond to make our dinner extra special. This is a one-of-a-kind experience!
We love eating here - the food and the staff are so great. We had some wonderful food and great wine - what could be better?
Wedding anniversary and friend visiting us from Florida.
We dined at Brindille for the first time on our anniversary last Saturday night and it was an excellent experience. Our server Careen was a delight and very attentive to our needs, even though the restaurant was full. Her wine by the glass recommendations were very good, and she gave us the opportunity to sample them before selecting. Though the by the glass prices were a bit high, the pours were generous. While they have a fixed price option, the menu offers many possibilities. The menu changes slightly weekly in the summer to take advantage of fresh items that become available. Our appetizers of the recommended corn soup and the soft shell crab were great. We had the quail and the duck breast, both of which were outstanding. Despite a full house on a Saturday night, the noise level was fine for talking. The bill was quite reasonable, compared to many other fine dining restaurants. We will be back.
I had the best Dover sole I've ever had at this restaurant. It was an updated dish but true to the things I love about Dover sole. I can't recommend this Brindille highly enough! Great service but relaxed and casual. I will be a regular here.
I've been wow'd before and brought my best friend and daughter. They BOTH said it was the best food they've ever eaten. So, yeah, you should go. Get the Foie. And the Duck. And the Lobster. And dessert. And let them choose your wines.
Brindille was the bday guests choice. She enjoyed everything and the entree's were complemented with an excellent wine pairing. We recommend and plan to return.
This is one of the very best restaurants in the country! Superb Chef. Great ambiance and Service. Deserves at least two Michelin stars IMO.
Brindille is awesome. Don’t miss this place. It is a must go. Food and presentation is outstanding. Always a great experience. Staff is great. Atmosphere is great. Highly recommend this place.
I live in St. Louis but dine in Chicago a lot. Brindille might be among the best two or three fine-dining experiences I have had there. Everything over-the-top. And the presence of Careen (sp?) as hostess, sommelier, jack-of-all-jobs, was particularly memorable. Five-Star. We will be back
Food and service were excellent. Our server was so personable and knowledgeable about not only the food, but also wine pairings. It was our 31st wedding anniversary and they made it very special. We will definitely be back.
This is the best restaurant in Chicago, period. Fois gras is amazing, the oysters were crazy and of the three entrees at our table, I couldn't pick a favorite. They were all amazing.
Wonderful experience, as always. Careen was our server and she was phenomenal. Hands down beats other French restaurants in town for ambiance, service, food and wine!
Food was outstanding, truly exceptional. And the tasting menu and wine pairings were fabulous.
The echos of Michelin starred NAHA ring through Brindille. Superb food, service and wine. It was a delight.
Arrival and greeting: Great. Ordered wine for aperitive and wine for dinner great and fast. Placed order: no problem. Quality and innovation of dishes: Great. Service: great and enthusiastically. Wait time to get dishes: dismal; 20 to 30+ minutes wait time. I don't want the dishes to come one after the other but that wait time was excessive. Somewhere, something needs to be fixed.
It’s a fine dining restaurant. Comfortable seatings were equipped with exquisite tablewear and shiny utensils. The food is very good. The dish I had was the duck breast. It’s better than the duck breast from the NOMI Kitchen at Park Hyatt. It’s also better than the duck breast from Margeaux Brasserie at Waldorf Astoria. Most of the duck dishes involved fruity sauce. People add fruit to the sauce, and put some puree (usually potato) and a few green leaves to the dish and that was it. Here at Brindle, in addition to the fruity sauce, they used the fruit (peaches) to make a tarte tatin to go with the dish rather than plain old veggie puree. It is this kind of extra work that elevates the whole dish and make it better than everybody else’. I also like the idea of using leek to go with duck meat. Every element in this dish is delicious. I wasn’t gonna order this dish. But Careen recommended it so I went along with it. And I’m so glad that I did. She makes some very good recommendations. The services were impeccable. It was a busy Saturday night. My reservation was for one person, yet the host was kind enough to give me a table instead of sending me straight to the bar. I really appreciated that. It was a very nice dining experience in every aspect (food, desert, service, the venue, etc.)
Brindille is a lovely restaurant will a subtle, minimalist but comfortable decor, and lots of grey tones. The menu has many appealing options, all fairly expensive. They brought a delicious amuse bouche of potato gourgettes that were delicious, and after a long wait, wonderful rolls (one for each of us.) I ordered the Dover sole meuniere, top recommended by the server (who perhaps didn't appreciate our not ordering appetizers and only one alcoholic drink and although pleasant was not attentive.) My husband had the steak frites. When I went to eat the sole I couldn't cut it with a fork, which was bizarre, and when I took a bite it was rubbery. I sent it back and the server returned quite abashed confirming that the chef agreed that something was wrong with my fish, and they remade it. This meant that my husband ate his steak while I watched, and I ate my fish when he was done. Not ideal, especially at those prices. When the fish was remade my first bite was so salty I considered sending it back again. As it turned out, it was just that one end that must have been over salted and the rest was ok, but since this was the most expensive item on the menu, it deserved special care especially being remade, so I was not overly impressed with the experience. My husband's steak was very good but not fabulous, and the "frites" were a bit too crispy and not exceptional. They did give us a free dessert as compensation, and it was a pleasant strawberry dessert that everyone was ordering. Nice but nothing to drool over. All in all I would probably give them a second chance, but they struck out on our first visit. We had eaten at NAHA in the past, and were looking forward to celebrating our anniversary at this restaurant. My husband was sorry we didn't go back to Les Nomades.
One of the best restaurants in Chicago I’ve been to in years!
Overall - an excellent dining experience.
Refined and tasty food, great wines, attentive service and a nice ambience.
We had a great evening.
