Brimstone Woodfire Grill Ratings and Reviews
Host was not helpful. Reservation was done for outdoor sitting, and she just said that it will take about 2 hours for outdoor sitting stating that someone called me to advise which it was not true. So no outside sitting was given to us. However, the waitress was awesome.
I was very impressed with the reservation system. I was expecting to show up and wait, because of over booking. I was proven wrong, which was great. Service was great also. The server had great suggestions for starter and was knowledgeable about the main courses.
I was very upset by the fact that I made a reservation for outside dining and as I sat down, I was moved to another location outside because I was informed, I did not specify in the reservation that I wanted to sit up front near the band. In making a reservation, there was no clause stating that a specified location had to be noted and of course, booking online, I stayed, "Why didn't anyone call me back to verify the dining location outside"?. It took awhile to be placed in another location outside due to the volume of people, the waiter who came to take the order before the relocation, never returned to say anything. The manager was rude, however, there was no compensation. Although, The occasion celebrated was a Bridal shower and my friends enjoyed themselves, the overall situation could have been handled differently.
Service was slow and unattentive at best. The atmosphere was quiet and quite eerie. We made a special request in our reservations for our son's Birthday that was completely ignored and not even mentioned once. Server was nice although disappeared for long periods of time and never refilled drinks. Not even once! Not sure what the issue was as it was a Monday night and the restaurant was clearly not filled to capacity.
Food was underwhelming for the price. Flat bread appeared to be microwaved on the very dish it was served, salads where boring with salad dressings that were frozen. The Sea Bass was tasty although small in portion. Same with the Pork chops. The NY Strip was highly disappointing. Looked like the special from Sizzler and overpriced at $50. Absolutely not worth it.
Happy to pay for high quality food and service. Neither were present here.
Totally disappointed and will not return.
I came here for brunch to celebrate my sister's birthday, which was noted in my reservation. I also noted a preference for outdoor seating, which seemed to be a bit of an issue when I arrived because they told me the only seating they had was in the sun or the high tops that anyone can sit at. It seems as if my note was not taken into consideration because they asked me "outdoor or indoor?" when I arrived.
In regards to the service, unfortunately, the waiter was very apathetic, making the experience off putting and uncomfortable to even mention we were celebrating a birthday. I'm disappointed in the service I received to say the least. I typically have a great experience when I come to Brimstone, making this an odd experience. The food was still fresh and delicious as it normally is, but there wasn't much attention given to our table. It took a good 10 minutes before we saw any kind of service at our table. When he did arrive, as I mentioned, our waiter simply didn't care. I've had really special waiters at Brimstone before, going the extra mile in service, which keeps me coming back. This experience was completely lacking. The money spent did not feel worth it. Again, a very disappointing outting with my family. Hit or miss, but I won't be coming back.
Hands down the best Porterhouse I've ever had & that includes me dining at Don Shulas at the Alexander Hotel in Miami Beach. The house sangria was divine usually in other places it's either to strong or just a fruity Sprite but not here it was perfect served in a tall wine glass & super cold delicious. Great atmosphere & wonderful customer/table service. Call ahead seating was great walked right in compared to a lot of other restaurants where even with call ahead seating you still have to wait 15-20 minutes but not at Brimestone. Will definitely be back keep up the great work.
I used to love brimstone. I returned for my sons 28th birthday and I was very shocked at the quality of the food. My steak was over cooked and my potatoes were cold. Extremely disappointed, don’t know if I will return. Seems happy hour is huge there and not the food.
Steak was great. Bake potatoe side was awful, broccolini was mostly stems. Fruit in sangria still had produce sticker on it. Also loud music from outside DJ was annoying when trying to have a conversation, should invest in sound proof windows and doors if your an upscale restaurant.
As you can see in my reservations, I frequent Brimstone. I made a reservation for last Friday for Happy Hour which before used to take places in the tables at the patio. This time, I was advised by the hostess that only the bar (inside and outside) were eligible for happy hour; the tables at the patio were not part of the happy hr anymore. Both bars were packed while tables in the patio were empty .. does it make sense? To me it does not. We ended up craving a regular table sin we wanted to sit down and have backpack with our laptops with us ... hard to handle in a crowed bar. I paid almost $100.00 in regular price; for what I usually pay $60.00 in happy hour prices.
Besides that, I ordered the passion fruit margarita which came super low .... only 70% of my glass was full. I mentioned to Brandon and then to Natalie (our waiters) and Brandon did not say much; just handed the table to Natalie. Natalie agreed with my drink being super low and said she did not want to go to the bar and "start a fight with the bartender" ... I mean; I am the customer, I have a valid reason to complain, and nobody does anything about it? So I paid full price for half a drink?
It was a very disappointed visit to one of what used to be my favorite places. I guess I need to look for a new Happy Hour place.
Outstanding service and food was great. Not good for large groups unless you want outside dining. Inside mostly booths. If they had tables instead of booths inside they could solve this issue. They have one room that can be used for large groups but it is through catering manager who is not in on weekends. Highly recommend for small group inside dining.
Had a reservation thru Open Table. Arrived, place was crowded, lots of people waiting in lobby. But we were seated promptly. Thank you for honoring reservation! Great food, service. Can be noisy, depending on time of day. Overall, always a great place to be.
After having been to Brimstone numerous times for brunch in the past, after this last visit it's unlikely that we will return any time soon. My wife's French toast was wet and soggy, and my ham/bacon omelette had barely a trace of either. Also, on a few recent visits, our server offered "biscuits for the table." Such wording suggests this is complementary with the meal as is the case in many restaurants, but, as it turns out, there is a charge that wasn't mentioned. After leaving the restaurant this time, I noticed the charge on my receipt. Their servers need to word their offer of "bread/biscuits for the table" differently, perhaps saying "would you like to ORDER bread/biscuits." Also, I was charged $4 for the biscuits when the menu states $3. So, obviously, it's definitely not a matter of price here, but, rather, a matter of principle.
Food was OK - not on par with a Morton's or Capital Grill even though the prices are almost at that level and they market themselves in that group. Ordered a NY Strip medium rare and it arrived medium to almost medium-well. She-Crab Bisque was the best part of the whole meal. Roasted Asparagus was borderline burned. All-in-All I'd give it a 6 out of 10. Would consider a 7 out of 10 except the price to value does not warrant it.
We sat outside. Although there was an overcast, the atmosphere was great. The only issue was the loud group sitting next to my party. Apparently, we arrive shortly after the mimosa happy hour which the group was freely enjoying. The behavior of the small children in the group was better than the adults.
We will stick to the inside on the next visit. Service was good, food and drinks were outstanding.
