Brimmer & Heeltap Ratings and Reviews
Once again we had an incredible experience. The food was spectacular as always and the wine list covers whatever you are after. The service was impeccable. The servers knowledge of the wine and food was very thorough. As a picky picky restaurant goer-- this place is a home run!
I had been meaning to try this place since it opened, and I was so glad I did! The service was wonderful - even down to the server unsolicitedly bringing me wine tastes because she could tell the one I was contemplating didn't seem to fit my flavor profile! Everything was fresh and interesting and as a pescetarian I had plenty to choose from. The small plates were great and enjoyable to share.
My wife and I were on vacation visiting Seattle to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Based on the reviews of this restaurant that I found online I made a reservation here.
The food was great! We ordered several small dishes so we could try the majority of items on the menu. All of them were excellent.
The staff was very nice and attentive. On my open table reservation I had noted that we were celebrating our anniversary and the staff created a Happy Anniversary card and each staff signed it. Both my wife and I really appreciated it. The next time we are in Seattle we will make sure to eat there again. My wife and I are from Southern California and wish there was a restaurant similar to this!
My wife and I celebrated our 15th anniversary at B&H! We had the calamari fried rice, oyster shooters, and (can't believe I loved it so much) the celery salad!! We really liked the portions, as we shared each course. The salmon special was perfectly cooked and the steak was delicious. We finished with the gorgonzola cheesecake. Well made cocktails and divine wine list made this a night to remember! Can't recommend it highly enough.
The food was incredible. Each dish was uniquely special and like nothing we had before. The service was impeccable. The ambience was very special and unique even among Seattle's great restaurant scene. We were there for my son's 21st birthday. Jen Doke, the owner, made our evening absolutely special.
I took my brother here when in town and we both really enjoyed eating here. The place seemed to be better for sharing dishes, such as the delicious bread and grilled zucchini we got. Really good bread, and really good zucchini. The entrees were good too, but that bread was amazing.
I chose this as the post engagement celebration for my fiancé and I and three friends. They brought us champagne right away and then we enjoyed a 6 course meal that we all split. I would kill for the pork shoulder again. My friend would kill for the squid fried rice. The whole meal was absolutely delicious. I would choose again in a heart beat.
We went in with high expectations and the food did not deliver. The meat was tough, the sides were over salted, you can tell that they tried and really worked at an inventive menu but the execution was lacking. We hope it gets better but they need to really put more attention to what they are delivering to the table. The beverage selections were great and we appreciate all the hard work they put into everything. We're rooting for you Brimmer and Heeltap!!!
We are out of towners and wanted to try a more local-feel restaurant. The place is pretty tiny, which gave it an intimate feel, but also meant that we had to wait 30~ minutes for our "reserved" table to be ready. The food was really unique, which is a good thing if you're up for trying out-of-the-box dishes. Our dinner consisted of cucumber lime oyster shooters, crusted albacore, braised pork shoulder, and gargonzola cheesecake (which was the highlight of the evening). The major downfall of the experience was the table service, which at points felt like it was non-exitant.
If I was a local, I would most likely return for seconds.
It seems each time we come here, unfortunately not often enough, the experience and food is even better than the last. That's so rare! We made a last minute Monday evening reservation, bringing two long-time friends here for their first time. The menu changes seasonally, so most of the dishes we tried were new to us as well - every single one fantastic. Love the balance between east and west, light handed and completely respectful of the ingredients themselves, whether scallops, lamb shoulder, or simply ricotta salata over heirloom tomato. The staff both front and back of house are terrific; knowledgeable, attentive, genuine. Be sure to check out the back patio as well. Highly recommended!
Went out on a Friday night. Our server was great—very knowledgeable, friendly and attentive without being overly attentive. The food was exciting. Everything was tasty, and none of it was exactly like a dish I'd had before. We had steak, lamb, fish, a tomato dish, shepard's pie, and a delicious peanut butter-chocolate desert. The drinks were also outstanding.
I love the small and larger size choices for the entrees. The combinations of flavors and the overall simplicity of the menu coupled with the absolutely beautiful setting makes this restaurant unmatched in my opinion. I can't wait to see if it feels as cozy in the fall and winter as it has airy and fresh in the summer. Kudos for taking a classic location and making it even better.
Atmosphere was welcoming and food was great.
Shrimp Cocktail for an appetizer had a slightly spicy scallion sauce.
Two People had the Salmon and it was very moist and flavorful, one had the off the bone beef short ribs and and the glaze was very good and the beef was tender.
and of course always order the baked to order bread with salt and pepper.
The restaurant is beautifully and eclectically decorated. Very minimalist but still warm and inviting. The wait staff is accommodating, good French wines, great bar drinks ( mine was served with one giant ice cube) and friendly bar service. Food was very good. Not a lot of choices but enough in each category. Pork is their specialty and delicious. Steak tartare very lean and flavorful. Easy parking. Very cheerful and upbeat place!
