The Brighton Ballroom has been many things and as a member of the Proud Group it will continue to live up to its legacy of a popular live music and retro venue during the summer. The venue features a swanky cocktail bar with a well-placed balcony, offering guests a bird’s eye view of all the club’s goings-on.
Proud Group reopened the iconic venue with the promise of a gradual yet extensive restoration project. The transformation began with the launch of the Ballroom’s new restaurant offering a bespoke dining experience under the direction of Michelin-trained chef Finlay Logan. The launch has established the Ballroom as the retro supper club of the south at the same time bringing a touch of old-world glamour back to this historic venue.

The Supper Club will take place in the archaic allure of the venue's stunning main ballroom, complete with glass-domed ceiling and mezzanine gentleman's club. Perfectly off-setting the splendour and sophistication of the menu, diners can relax in the vintage luxury of the ballrooms glamour. To add to the theatre dining experience, a packed-bill of entertainment will run throughout to compliment the menu. With everything from MGM's Hollywood cocktail party complete with dry martinis and diamond dames, to the kinky 1920's speakeasy performers of Brighton Rouge'd, the venue will provide it all.

We had the most amazing night the cabaret was first class so that's what it's all about not the food which is mediocre but the rest makes up for it never laughed so much! Well done all that works there!

Disappointing. Having been before, we felt that the whole place has gone very downhill - the food was average, we were promised a balcony table and were given seats which meant we had our back to the stage and were very cramped in, the entertaining was not up to previous standard, to loos were disgusting. It all seems very much about packing the most people in, for the most revenue, and never mind if the customer's experience is seriously lacking.

We booked a table to watch a cabaret show for 7pm. It was my husbands birthday. When we arrived we were surprised to see a private wedding party was taking place. We asked what was happening because we'd booked a table to which a member of staff had no idea, he then went off to find the manager and then never came back. The staff were unhelpful and not interested in our situation. The wedding must have been booked way in advance so for them to still be taking bookings is bad management. It ruined our night and left us really disappointed. They basically just turned us away without any regard or recommend any other option. Definitely avoid

So after hearing mixed reviews about this place, we decided to try it out for ourselves. Admittedly, the food wasn't 5* but it was still yummy, especially the banoffee pie, and overall the night was amazing for value. The £35 we paid each included our 3 course meal, the lovely ladies that performed throughout dinner and free entry to the club night afterwards. Also, I was surprised at how many people joined after the restaurant closed, and we were pleasantly surprised by it! It was lots of fun and I will 100% be returning!

After spotting an advert for this in Source Magazine, I decided to drag my boyfriend along! What a venue! It's definitely one of Brighton's better kept secrets, and the building alone is enough to wow you. The beautiful painted dome ceiling inside firstly one over, but I'm happy to say that our entire experience was fantastic. Our waitress, a pretty and polite little thing, was very helpful, and although drinks were a little slow at times, the attentive staff were more than apologetic. The show was great also, and being prepared for the 1940s Blitz Party, we were impressed to say the least! The decor and performances were perfect, and you could really tell that a lot of effort had gone into this! Highly recommended!

WE THOUGHT WE'D BE THE OLDEST THERE, BUT NOT SO.
SERVICE WAS VERY SLOW,BUT IT WAS VERY BUSY, THE ATMOSPHERE WAS ENERGETIC WITH SEVERAL HEN PARTIES PARTYING HARD.
ENTERTAINMENT WAS GOOD, NICE TO FIND SOMEWHERE LOCAL WITH SOMETHING DIFFERENT.
WHEN BOOKING MAKE SURE YOU DON'T BOOK ENTERTAINMENT AND MEAL SEPARATELY AS YOU WILL BE CHARGED TWICE. WEBSITE NOT VERY CLEAR RE PRICES.

Was a lovely night out. The service was amazing and they were all dressed in theme.

I bought groupon vouchers and got the 3 courses for £18. The food was lovely but i would not pay the standard £35. This is very pricey for what we got.

The singer was brilliant and everyone made a effort to dress up. Something different and very Brighton:)

The evening was great. Although the staff were a little slow and the bar stock a little low the entertainment was fab. It was a shame there was no burlesque as it had been advertised as being on that evening and had been a major draw to the place but the singer and three piece band were brilliant and we danced our little socks off!

I would recommend the place to anyone but don't get over excited about the food. Although the menu sounds great the presentation and quality didn't live up to expectations.

We're looking forward to going back and seeing what else the Brighton Ballrooms has to offer

The Brighton Ballrooms is a great nostalgic trip. A guess at what it would have been like dining during the highs of the 50's but with some serious tongue in cheek.A good choice of cocktails to start the evening off. A good amount of table visiting by stunning Veronica and her amazing vocal chords, with the odd cheeky banter. Supper menu gave more promise than actually delivered for the price, a really tender but not thinly sliced carpaccio was good but lacked flavour,mussels fresh but no great flavours coming through sadly! Service very good and attentive enough.However the experience as a whole was definitely worth the special occasion or two!Really great fun.

We were a group of 4 visiting Brighton for the 8th January but this was our first exprerinece of BB. The entertainment was excellent and made up for the 'so so' food. Loved the 'Stick it on Disco'. It was a unique experience and would certainly recommend. Hope to return next year. Can't wait to see what's on.

We booked at this venue for a special birthday choosing this restaurant for it's entertainment. There was a planned cabaret singer and burlesque dancer for the evening and when we arrived we were shown to the only table in the establishment with absolutely NO view of the stage as we were behind a brick wall, positioned at a fireplace, through which a January gale was blowing. When we complained that we could not see the entertainment and that we were unable to remove our coats due to the wind, we were told there were no other tables. We were not offered any other compensation (how can a menu that you pay extra for to watch a show be similarly priced for those who are unable to see it?) and in fact waited 15mins to be able to complain-awful

The Supper Club at the Brighton Ballroom is a great night out with a group of friends. Gorgeous small venue - check out the ceiling fresco. The menu changes regularly. The food we ate was tasty and well presented although the layout and design of the place makes truly excellent service difficult - tables very close together and cabaret while dining. Ask for a booth to have a seat for the night. The 10.30/11pm switch over to nightclub is frustrating especially if the service doesn't keep pace so expect to be turfed off your table and to pay up in a hurry. The 12.5% service charge is a bit excessive.

Lovely venue. Food was ok for mass-catering but disappointing for the advertised 'supper club'. The cabaret entertainment was varied - a good singer/guitarist and a less than good burlesque dancer (who only performed 2 very short acts so not so bad!). Found out the hard way that tables in centre are cleared later in evening, so we were left with nowhere to put drinks, bags etc. - a couple of sofas are provided but these were already taken.

It was a special evening but because there were not that many diners that evening it seemed slghtly empty. We tried to get a reservation for 7.30 but we were told that it was only 7.15, with the actual number of people present that seemed slighly ridiculous. However the singer was excellent even if te DJ was not to our taste.
