Beautifully remodeled in early 2009, the Brigantine is well-known for the signature Clam Chowder, Grilled Swordfish, and Fish Tacos. The Brigantine is a favorite among locals for consistently fresh seafood, succulent steaks and grilled meats.



Home to the America's Cup until 1995, Shelter Island is still the yachting center of San Diego. The Brigantine offers glimpses of this busy marina from the outdoor patio and semi-private banquet areas.



The Point Loma Brigantine serves dinner 7 nights a week, and lunch Saturday & Sunday. Join us for our signature $5 Happy Hour from 3-6pm.

The food is always amazing. Oysters on a half shell to start, followed by the mussels and then a larger plate to share. The special was rib eye with bacon wrapped scallops. The service was on point and never an empty glass!

One of my best meals this year!! The place was not busy at all due to COVID concerns and we enjoyed our meals as a family of four. The service was very good and just had to ask for a few items like bread, etc.
Great place to bring the family for decent price and a great menu selection! Will return before end of year for sure.

We had a great time at Brigantine. The service was swift and friendly. The food was really good and the food temperature was hot! (What a great surprise when so many restaurants serve food warm...) Portions are generous. Lovely place for a date night.

This was our third time dining here. It gets better every time! I was dying for some oysters and our waiter Tristan picked out some fabulous Fanny Bay’s for me! The Sand dabs with the risotto was wonderful also. It was mine Wednesday so we grabbed a bottle also and finished it off. I love come in here when I am in town. Keep up the good work!

This was our second visit to The Brigantine Point Loma. We travel all the way from Temecula if that tells you anything. We decided to make reservations because it was 4th of July weekend and didn't know what to expect. Upon arrival on Saturday night we were pleasantly surprised to see everything running smoothly. The hostess took us directly to our booth and our server was right behind her to greet us and take our drink order.
The caesar salad, lobster tails and mahi mahi were absolutely delicious. Since this visit was during the Covid-19 outbreak all personnel were wearing face masks. The Brigantine is going to become our out of town getaway. :-)

As usual, The Brig does not disappoint. Good food, good service, nice surroundings, reasonable prices for good-sized servings. Oddly, Lovely Bride's steak was overdone, but my Sand Dabs, again, as usual, were excellent...perfecto!

The chowder? The best in SD (IMHO). Cocktails? Always good (mine a Stormy Mule, friends wife, a margarita).

my ratings this go 'round were a bit lower ONLY because of the COVID restrictions imposed on these poor restaurateurs...they must be getting KILLED by Supreme Leaders declarations.

The Brig's food is all top notch. We enjoyed Calamari, Onion Rings, Fish Tacos, Buffalo Wings, Pulled Pork Sliders, Spinach Salad and a great Ahi wok. Service was on point. And in this current CV19 Environment the spacing of tables was great without an uptight vibe. Highly recommend the Brig!

Excellent customer service, hostess was confusing, waitress the best. One of the orders was put in more than once and something happened in the back, but we all shared our meals and ordered more food than we could eat. At one point, since the entree wasnt made - Sand Dabs, she put in for an order of garlic fries, those did not get prepared either. Daniella our server was marvelous and we completely understand being restaurant owners in past that the chefs are just back at it, and we are long time Brig fans. Normaly we frequent Del Mar location and decided to try the Brig by our boat in Pt Loma.

The Brigantine Point Loma has been a favorite of ours for over 20 years. It's our go-to place for special occasions or when we want seafood. We are verrrrrry finicky about our seafood and make the trek from Temecula to Shelter Island just to go to the Brig!

Nothing really special about this experience besides the cumcumber/jalapeño and the pomegranate margaritas. Food was ok, I had the blackened halibut and my friend had the seafood omelette, both tasted good but not memorable. We also had the calamari sticks and they were very tender, perhaps the highlight of the meal... Service was really good and they were able to accept a reservation quite fast, what it was really convenient

We were there closer to closing and new COVID restrictions, so hoping that contributed to our poor service experience. We ordered appetizers and the our main course and there was not sufficient time between serving the two courses. Water glasses never refilled and server overall inattentive. We generally love the Brigantine and have done at other of their locations but disappointed this time.

Very simple; steak was cooked properly but had a frozen taste, barely any vegetables as my side, dinner plate and knife we very dirt with hand prints on them. Waitress was excellent, drinks were strong, food was still fairly decent.

We were thrilled that the Brig opened just in time for our anniversary; this is where we always go to celebrate. The service was great; we especially appreciated the HUGE piece of mud pie that our waiter brought for us to share. This was one of our first dining experiences since the start of "pandemic" mode -- and it was fabulous.

Made a reservation for Friday June 12 our first restaurant visit since COVID-19 ! We choose the Brigintine Point Loma since we have visited many times and a walk after dinner would be a great alternative to dancing at Humphreys Backstage. When we arrived the 2 hostesses at the front didn't even acknowledge us, which was very strange since we we were the only people at the front. The restaurant was pretty much empty only a couple of tables occupied the hostess seated us at the worst table in the restaurant where the wait staff comes in and out of the kitchen, what are they thinking? We ask for another table away from busy traffic of the staff and public and they said they had no tables available all of the other empty tables were for reservations we said we have a reservation. Their reply Sorry . We left and won't b back. :-(
