Brigantine Point Loma
Beautifully remodeled in early 2009, the Brigantine is well-known for the signature Clam Chowder, Grilled Swordfish, and Crème Brûlée. The Brigantine is a favorite among locals for consistently fresh seafood, succulent steaks and grilled meats.
Home to the America's Cup until 1995, Shelter Island is still the yachting center of San Diego. The Brigantine offers glimpses of this busy marina from the outdoor patio and semi-private banquet areas.
The Point Loma Brigantine serves dinner 7 nights a week, and lunch Monday-Saturday. Join us for our signature Happy Hour.
Fantastic dinning experience. Food was too shelf, Rita was very attentive, but never hovering.
Great food and service
Brigantine has never let me down. All the food and drinks are excellent and service is good. It is a bit pricey, so we only go there for special occasions for dinner.
Just the sweetest place ever for a special birthday celebration with my hubby! Always special at the Brig even when no special occasion!!
Good evening. Food is dependable and service adequate. The hostesses were particularly helpful and welcoming. Table service improved as the evening progressed. All in all a good evening.
Enjoyable meal, food and service was excellent.
Was a nice place to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday. Food was really good. Dessert they gave him for his birthday was definitely big enough for 2 to share and really good. Noise level was low so we could carry a normal conversation which was really nice. Overall good experience.
We had their 50th Anniversary special, and it was delicious. Excellent service and very good glass of wine for $7.00.
Waiter was very caring and attentive. The sand dabs and hand-shaken margarita were excellent despite some bones in the fish and a sharp chipped margarita glass, which I requested be retired. Salad was overpriced and did not compare to the salads at Brig La Mesa( loaded with slabs of carrots, no olives, too little dressing, few croutons). Baked potato was under- baked. Our meal cost almost $20.00 more than the same meal in La Mesa. We were a bit disappointed as we go to the La Mesa location frequently and have a better experience there.
As always, great food and service.
It took like 45 mins for our food to be served. Luckily we arrived early because we had a concert to attend down the street, but we were thinking about just walking out because it was taking so long. Not sure if that's the norm there.
Had to ask to be seated outside where it was quiet. Inside dining was very noisy. Food was just so. Service was great.
The meal I had was very underwhelming. I orders the Filet Mignon and though it was cooked perfectly thru, I felt that the taste of the meat was not the driving force of the dish. I also the crab cake and asked my very professional and attentive server if it was mushy or flaky. She said it was flaky and it arrived and it was totally mushy. The happy hour times changed from what the 3rd party sites like this one and google states. I received a complimentary appetizer gift from my choice hotel stay and when I presented it i was told that it was for a specific appetizer that they arranged for customers. I felt I was given just the least ordered options in order for them to honor the customer coupons and to not give away food that was expensive which I completely understand, but come on, fried zucchini, and fried Brussel sprouts (the ceviche was tasty). Overall I think this restaurant is a staple and was good for its time but it exist in an era of dinning that hasn’t kept up with their contemporaries.
I always enjoy the swordfish. It’s the best I’ve ever had.
Pleasantly surprised. Great price point super food, decent service.
Food was good but took at least 25 minutes from when our soup/salad service was cleared until main course was served. Expected better
Wife, friends and I had a great lunch meals. Service great.
Wonderful service and delicious, beautiful food, what more could you want.
Always great food and great service
Not at all crowded, but the service was poor. The manager gave us a gift card to make up for it.
The lobster crab Cobb was so full of blue cheese, I piled it on the plate to see how much. Usually the Brigantine is a sure thing, so maybe it was an off day.
Wonderful swordfish dinner.
The service was superb and the atmosphere was perfect for visiting.
One of my favorite places!
51st anniversary celebration with another couple. We received a greeting card and dessert. Charlotte was wonderful, very professional.
We go to The Brigantine a lot, especially for Happy Hour. This was a birthday special and we really enjoyed it. My husband had the New York Steak and I had the Bacon Wrapped Prawns. Both dishes were very good. Our server was excellent!
We came to celebrate my dad’s birthday and were not disappointed. Great food and service, especially the epic Mud Pie birthday dessert!
Nice place to eat. We sat outside and it was nice and quiet. Service was great. Food was good.
What a wonderful experience! Just as amazing as Coronado location and staff was wonderful!
Food made my date and I extremely sick, I was not able to sleep that night.
outstanding food and menu choices. The wine menu was also very nice. Our waitress gave us plenty of time to visit and catch up with friends and we never felt rushed. Overall an excellent experience.
Very, very good food and at the perfect price point! Wasn't expensive but it also wasn't fast food cheap. Very cozy restaurant and perfect for dates
Not much the restaurant can do about it, but the parking meters are an annoyance. Otherwise, the Brig in Point Loma is a very nice place to take visitors from out of town.
we usually stop in once a year on our vacation and every time we go through the pleasure to be there the food is always great along the service
Family dinner celebration
Save your money and go somewhere else. Service was horrible and slow.
With so many better options in San Diego we're not going back.
We must have caught them on an "off" night. Although we made a (birthday) reservation and when we arrived the restaurant was nearly empty, we were taken to a table in the corner, next to a brick wall that blocked most of the view that another table could've offered. When we commented about the poor location, the hostess said, "sorry, we have a lot of reservations tonight." We waited a really long time wondering if anyone was going to wait on us as we watched other waiters taking care of other tables. Finally, a man who looked like a manager of sorts, came out of the kitchen and asked if we had been helped (we had not). He brought us bread and water, we asked for straws. He took our order without offering any information about specials that a normal waiter would have. Still waiting for straws, my husband ended up getting up and going to the bar and getting us straws. Food arrived, we ate, water glass empty. When finished, a woman who was wearing a waitress came and asked if there would be anything else. I reminded her we were there for a birthday and asked for more water. She brought a dessert and refilled the water. We have always chosen the Point Loma location because of the past experiences we've had being great and the view, abiance is better than most Brigantines. This expeience however, was the worst we've experienced from this location, or any Brigantine for that matter. I appeared there was no wait staff assigned to our corner table and when we left there were still many tables sitting empty with a better view than we had in our awful corner.
Sadly, our food was not good. Calamari appetizer was rubbery and oil must have been old. There were so few pieces, it was not enough to share with only 3 of us, which is fine considering it was not good. The oysters were TINY. So disappointing. French fries (which filled most of our plate) were made in same, old oil and were brown and rubbery. The crab stuffed prawns wrapped in bacon were crispy crunchy pellets. Luckily there were only THREE for almost $30!! Will not ever return.
They had our spot ready with a anniversary note. Class act and excellent service. Way to go Brig!
The restaurant was attractive, the server excellent, and the good was delicious. The price was competitive with comparable restaurants.
Still the best oysters in town!
The wait staff could use a lot of training; but, years of happy eating will let me let them slide this time. However, in this very competitive world, this is something easily fixed and only adds to the experience.
Our stay was very good. We took seafood and that was really good. Service was friendly and the price reasonable. The house wine red or white was excellent.
Our visit to Brigantine to celebrate a friend's birthday was a great experience! In addition our server treated my mother in law like a Queen. We will definitely be back!
