Wanted to go out for a last minute dinner and Open Table was great.
Our server was wonderful ! ! !
Hector was great Loves the way they split the entree
If you have a chance to visit the Brigatine in Point Loma, ask for Dakota. He is one of THE best waiting staff I have ever experienced...and the food & drinks were simply amazing. I haven't been there in approx 15 years, but the service, food & ambiance hasn't changed much - it's still a fantastic place to go to to dine & relax.
Good food for a reasonable price. Staff service was very good especially for a busy Saturday night.
Honestly all of our food was okay but needed a bit of salt.
Staff was amazingly friendly. Made a reservation on the outside patio and was very pleasant. Ordered drinks to start & had our drinks in less than 5 minutes. Our server was exceptionally friendly and professional. Have never had a bad experience at the Brig! Thanks so much to the entire staff. The food was amazing!
Sand Dabs were fantastic. Servers were well trained and professional
Delicious food and the service was excellent. Thanks to our server Charlotte!
Perfect night for a birthday celebration. Great food, great service, staff was awesome. Thanks Michael, Crystal, and Rita for making it a great night!
7/10 reservation. I can only rate the service at check in as we left before ordering. This is a favorite venue that we go to almost every time we visit San Diego. I made my reservation a week ahead for 2, outside. We were seated promptly but at a table that wasn't even set up, up against the wall , with two poles blocking our view. There was another table behind us, set up, for four. I asked if we could have that and was told that it was reserved for four. About two minutes later, the same hostess sat two people there, removing the extra set-ups. Our server had already taken our drink order and was very nice, but the fact that we were stuck at this table didn't make we want to stay. We left, telling the hostess of our ordeal. The hostess who seated us didn't seem to care at all. (I don't have her name but she was short, light brown long hair.) I should have spoken to the manager but just didn't feel like staying there.
7/13/21-I received a call from the manager who listened to my issues, was apologetic and assured me that my next experience at Brigantine would be what it should be! I appreciate the care and concern Mike showed in responding to my review and contact with the restaurant.
Really happy Bríg could accomodate is on short notice. Party of 8 on a Saturday night. Evening was perfect. Thank you Brig!
Outstanding service, very good food.
Outstanding experience. We have dined at the Brigantine a few times for Special occasions. This visit San Diego put on a spectacular sunset, our Server Sheena was Fantastic and the food was exceptional.
We will continue to dine at the Brigantine on our visits to America's Finest City
Omg what an amazing evening! Chose this restaurant based on its reviews, amazing menu, gluten free options and affordability for seafood near the waterfront. I was celebrating my one-year anniversary so I spent hours trying to find exactly what I want, and Brigantine didn’t disappoint. Hitting on what I said, they had so many gluten-free options as well as substitutions and options for other food sensitivities. I have a stomach disease that makes me allergic to everything and my server was exceptionally accommodating and the sweetest person ever! Madison, if you are reading this, you made my anniversary so special because of your kind demeanor, food/drink recommendations, ease at working with my allergies and honestly being the best server I’ve ever had! Thank you girl!!! You made my anniversary beyond perfect and it wouldn’t have been as amazing without you! Going back to affordability, I looked at MANY restaurants aiming for the $$ mark, and no other restaurant came close to the quality of food & size of menu as Brigantine. And PLEASE make sure to check out their Happy Hour menu! $5 for so many things from alcohol, sliders, salad, potato skins, calamari, and the biggest save, the OYSTERS! Our meal had 15 oysters from the happy hour & 1 happy hour well cocktail, 1 speciality cocktail, 2 entree’s and one appetizer, and it was $128! I’m still in shock and telling everyone! Madison also brought us a gluten free complimentary dessert for our anniversary! Have I said how phenomenal she is enough yet?! To make a long story short, Brigantine did not disappoint in almost every aspect. I say almost, because if I’m being nit-picky, my one super minor annoyance, was that there was a certain area you had to sit for happy hour, and the normal outdoor seating I had originally requested was a little bit more quiet and private. Again, totally not important in the end. You actually have a better ocean view from HH outdoor. In summary, THANK YOU BRIGANTINE, can’t wait to come back!
service was very lacking even to have to ASK TWICE JUST FOR EATING UTENSILS. THE WAITRESS DID HER BEST DISAPPEARING ACT ONCE SHE SOLD A BOTTLE OF WINE TO US. FOOD WAS GOOD BUT NOT REMARKABLE
Service wasn’t acceptable but the food was very good.
We reserved for the Brig before schlepping down to the waterfront for July 4 fireworks. We had a roomy and comfy booth, much appreciated. We ordered the mussels and the octopus, both without meat (why do they insist on adding pork belly, bacon or chorizo to so many seafood dishes?) plus two Vodka oyster shooters and a creme brulee. It was a lovely pre-fireworks meal!
Simply a great and reliable restaurant in Point Loma!
The food tasted great and the waitress had outstanding customer service. The drinks from the bar were well made as well.
Highly recommend the blackened ahi sashimi.
Even though the Brigantine is in many places it is a hidden gem in Point Loma. Food was 5 star quality as was the service. I would recommend this restaurant
We sat down to a dirty knife and bottom of a plate -- it happens -- dishwashers break. Still, for the prices, it wasn't a great start.
The shrimp appetizer was fine except accompanied by a strangely paired soy-sauce tasting ponzu.
Out of our party of four, both swordfish plates were pretty mediocre in flavor and dry overall. The filet was pretty on point, same with the bacon-wrapped prawns.
Service was fine, but nothing spectacular, as we had to stack our own bread plates and help clean the table.
An old legacy of a restaurant in Point Loma. But you are likely much better served at the new downtown/marina location. Or buy swordfish at Point Loma Seafoods and grill your own.
Food was not hot. It wasn't cold but not hot. Waitress was pretty attentive and kind. Atmosphere was nice. We dined outside in the cool of early evening. Enjoyable overall.
Ordered calamari for two of the diners and a salad. The calamari arrived. The salad never arrived. When the waitress checked on us I asked about my salad. She forgot. I told her to cancel the salad. She brought one on the house, which was the right thing to do. The salad was excellent. Two ordered salmon which was fine. I ordered the crab stuffed bacon wrapped prawns. They were awful, very dry. Overall bad experience. Won’t go back.
Always good food at a reasonable price. The only reason that this isn't rated higher is that two of the plates for bread were not clean and new plates had to be brought out. Hoping that this was perhaps an anomaly.
Otherwise, everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. The mid pie for dessert was huge, easily split between 2 or 3 people.
Great service and food
Service was very slow. Seated and waited over twenty minutes just to give. Our drink order. Waiter was very nice. Pina colada was not great. Separated like it sat for a while. Oysters were great and the highlight of the meal. Sand dabs were soggy and flavorless. Ive been to brigantine on Coronado and it is excellent so i was disappointed.
First time there service was excellent and the food was even better
We really enjoyed everything about our experience at Brigantine
We will go back next time we visit San Diego
Lobster tail was salty and mushy
Got tired of sending it back
They said it was fresh….tasted like it had been in a saline solution
We were at Brigantine for Father’s Day & a party of 9. We had great service, the dining room is bright with wonderful windows overlooking Shelter Island from the 2nd level restaurant. The food is great and the added bonus was on Sunday early afternoon we could choose from the brunch or lunch menu. The Brussels Sprouts starter was amazing!
Only complaint...access could be better. Recovering from back procedure, elevator never came. Otherwise it was all very nice.
The evening was perfect. Our server, Ashley, was tending to a table of 18 and handling us and others with calm efficiency. She was charming and great at her job. The food:
shrimp cocktail, spinach salad, swordfish and mud pie were all amazing.
You cannot touch this quality of food and service, reasonable prices, anywhere in the County.
Service was great, we were seated and served quickly. Staff was very friendly and the food was great.
food was brigantine & the service was great! love the brigantine & will definitely be going back!
Great food, great service.
Great food. Great service.
The waiters were quick and efficient, they had our drink orders and water very quickly. The food, as usual, was great and served hot. It was not very crowded in the dining area and was very relaxed. There was more energy in the bar area but that is as it should be. The parking was easy too. We had a great time for my wife's birthday! Thanks. Brigantine
Was absolutely amazing. Service was prompt. There is handicap access via a back alley elevator that’s a bit sketchy but it works. great view as well!
great drinks. risotto over cooked, felt like my dish was plated with little care. good appetizers
