Brigantine Point Loma
Beautifully remodeled in early 2009, the Brigantine is well-known for the signature Clam Chowder, Grilled Swordfish, and Fish Tacos. The Brigantine is a favorite among locals for consistently fresh seafood, succulent steaks and grilled meats.
Home to the America's Cup until 1995, Shelter Island is still the yachting center of San Diego. The Brigantine offers glimpses of this busy marina from the outdoor patio and semi-private banquet areas.
The Point Loma Brigantine serves dinner 7 nights a week, and lunch Saturday & Sunday. Join us for our signature $5 Happy Hour from 3-6pm.

Lobster tail was salty and mushy
Got tired of sending it back
They said it was fresh….tasted like it had been in a saline solution
We were at Brigantine for Father’s Day & a party of 9. We had great service, the dining room is bright with wonderful windows overlooking Shelter Island from the 2nd level restaurant. The food is great and the added bonus was on Sunday early afternoon we could choose from the brunch or lunch menu. The Brussels Sprouts starter was amazing!
Only complaint...access could be better. Recovering from back procedure, elevator never came. Otherwise it was all very nice.
The evening was perfect. Our server, Ashley, was tending to a table of 18 and handling us and others with calm efficiency. She was charming and great at her job. The food:
shrimp cocktail, spinach salad, swordfish and mud pie were all amazing.
You cannot touch this quality of food and service, reasonable prices, anywhere in the County.
Service was great, we were seated and served quickly. Staff was very friendly and the food was great.
food was brigantine & the service was great! love the brigantine & will definitely be going back!
Great food, great service.
Great food. Great service.
The waiters were quick and efficient, they had our drink orders and water very quickly. The food, as usual, was great and served hot. It was not very crowded in the dining area and was very relaxed. There was more energy in the bar area but that is as it should be. The parking was easy too. We had a great time for my wife's birthday! Thanks. Brigantine
Was absolutely amazing. Service was prompt. There is handicap access via a back alley elevator that’s a bit sketchy but it works. great view as well!
great drinks. risotto over cooked, felt like my dish was plated with little care. good appetizers
So I'm almost 50 and I think the average age was 70. Probably because the decor hasn't been updated since the late 50s. For a seafood place it's sub par at best. They choose comfort style sides instead of more healthy less fattening vegetables etc.
Seems to be great for the local older crowd though.
A favorite for a casual and delicious San Diego experience!
The food was fantastic and the service was wonderful. We are regulars.
First time there. Hotel recommendationation. Food advertised on internet menu was not the same menu inside of restaurant. They were out of a lot of seafood. And being our first time with reservations the hotels put us by a very loud party of 10 with undisciplined children.
My husband cannot have a lot of salt. Waitress didn't suggest anything on the menu which I thought odd. My son's hamburger was cooked to perfection. The other entrees were too salty and unediable. Sad. Won't be going back.
Food was very good and service was spot on. Appreciate the relaxed but quiet environment that enables us to meet with family and friends and talk but not stuffy.
It was very nice, we sat outside very comfortable
We loved it
We had a quiet dinner, good food and ambience. Price seemed a little high but views of marina were really romantic
Decent Seafood restaurant, something for everyone on the menu. Server was either new or needs some additional training, personality OK but seemed scattered when waiting on tables
Easy checking, amazing food great service! Was Very pleased!
I was disappointed in the service. We had to hunt down our waitress multiple times to order items. Our waitress never asked us how the food was or if we needed anything. We had to wait about 20mins to order and then at the end of eating we had to wait another 20mins for her to bring our check. On top of that we were seated next to a very loud group of people. The combination of all of the above and a almost 2 hour dinning experience makes me never want to return to this location again. Highly disappointed and I wouldn’t recommend.
Wonderful birthday(s) celebration... delicious food. We have so missed wedge salad!
Sat outside and it was lovely. There are heaters if there is a chill.
Had a fantastic dinner.
Our favorite place to go for a nice relaxing dinner!
Good food and location. Waitress started off well, then we were left unattended for over 30 minutes and the server sent a busboy to bring our check she didn’t even come out to apologize for ignoring us. It was our anniversary and she didn’t even acknowledge it.....we drove 2 hours and dissatisfied with the service
The Brussels Sprouts are not pictured but by far the best I’ve ever had the pleasure of enjoying anywhere I’ve traveled.
We love Brigantine Point Loma. Great ambiance. We sit in the bar, near the fireplace on cold nights, order our fav cocktail and various small plates.
Food is always delicious. Service is superb. Cameron did a great job.
Definitely worth taking an evening to enjoy on of Point Loma's signature restaurants on Shelter Island.
While the dinner entrees involved ambitious use of ingredients, the food lacked flavor.
4 retired gray hairs meeting for a great meal with wonderful ambiance and a great server, Edgar. We love being by the bay
And The Brigantine Shelter Island is one of our great joys. They never disappoint
Very noisy, poor service, Manhattan made with white vermouth and ugly, filthy hallway to use elevator if you have to.,.
The food is so delicious. And the server is polite and nice to costumers. They serve the food in right time. Recommend to my families and friends.
Everything was amazing! From the customer service to the food. I will definitely be returning.
They didn't show our reservation on their computer, I had to show them my email, but they seated us anyway, in the bar area. A bit loud for us. Food was delicious.
Our waiter, Dakota was very attentive and professional. Made the experience very enjoyable. Food was very tasty.
Mother’s Day! The service as well as the food is impeccable! Ine of the best dining experiences I’ve had. Special shout out to our server, Madison! A total professional with a great personality. All the staff really know how to serve!
I was not impressed with the seasonings used on the fish. Seared Ahi Tuna had a lot of spices that I would have expected to find only in street tacos.
The Pork Chops were excellent.
Service was a bit slow. They were busy, but not so much as to take a reminder to bring out a hot tea we ordered. The side of French fries was, likewise, awfully long coming out from the kitchen.
I made Mother's Day reservations only a few days before and they were wide open for lunch, which kinda worried me. But when the day arrived, the restaurant was packed. It was a gorgeous day by the San Diego Bay, we were seated promptly, the service was fast and friendly, and the food was delicious!
