Well-known for our signature Clam Chowder, Grilled Swordfish, and Crème Brûlée, the Brigantine is a favorite among locals for consistently fresh seafood, succulent steaks and grilled meats.

I think I could eat the blackened salmon all day long. My wife was similarly impressed with the macadamia nut encrusted halibut. Your waiter, John, was especially helpful and attentive.

Great restauant. Hae never had a bad meal here. The different seafood dishes are creative and presented nicely on the plate. Tuesday's happy hour (fish and shrimp tacos) is a great time to come. Great prices and delicious tacos.

We dined with new friends. Unfortunately, they were out of several of our first choices. No scallops or rib eye at 6:00 on a Sunday nite. The food we did order was wonderful. Monica and Karly were great. We will return.

We celebrated Easter Sunday dinner at the Brig. Our sever was Brandon was phenomenal! Attentive and knowledgable about the menu. He also recognized our daughter’s 21st birthday earlier in the week!
He is an assist to the company!

We went there for Easter and it was a very pleasant experience. Our res was @ 4:30 and there was plenty of parking and the wait was short. Since we were first in line, we were seated first when they re-opened. We had a view table and the waitstaff were pleasant and attentive. We plan to go back.

Easter Sunday brunch was great. Highly recommend the Salmon Oscar Service was very friendly and efficient. Our champagne glasses were never empty. Highly recommend the Brigantine in La Mesa for lunch, dinner or brunch.

The food was prepared to perfection. The Alaskan Halibut was tender, juicy and very tasty. Our service was great and we thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience by using a gift card received at Christmas. The carrot cake though was a little dry - not the best we have had to eat.

Food was great! Both my date and I had a blast! The service was a little slow! For example we didn't get water or bread for the firest 8 or so minutes! But the waiter did pick up the pace when he learned we were old enough to drink.

Matt was an excellent server, food was A+. The swordfish was succulent and grilled to perfection, great salad, hand-shaken Margarita was balanced with sour fresh citrus and sweet orange liquor undertones. The Creme Brûlée and cherry cake desserts were a nice finish to a wonderful evening. Highly recommend this restaurant.

BrigLaMesa is one of our favorite restaurants and a regular venue. As seafood is the Brig's specialty, cuts are very rarely overcooked, which can be a problem in many non-seafood restaurants. This evening, however, was exceptionally good in other ways and therefore worth reviewing. Both my partner and I immediately noted that the bread was the freshest and most flavorful we'd ever been served. It was the same bread as usual, just much better. Maybe it was a fluke, but if the restaurant has improved its bread preparation, I hope they keep it up. The brig salad, too, was particularly fresh and artfully presented. They serve a lot of this tasty salad, and it doesn't often look as though much care has gone into its presentation. This time it did. My salmon was superb; my partner's California halibut was excellent as well (he prefers Alaskan, so was skeptical at first). Beautiful restaurant -- simple, delicious food.

We were away from our home for a 4 day getaway. We love dining at The Brigantine. This was our first time to dine at the Brigantine La Mesa as we usually go to the one at Point Loma. The food was excellent and and the service and we will definitely return when we are in La Mesa.

I celebrated a friend's birthday for lunch here yesterday. We were seated in a lovely booth timely, menu was terrific, food very good. The highlight of our meal, however, was our server Anne who took excellent care of us, made appropriate menu suggestions and was a real gem. Thanks Ann and Brigantine for making this a special day. I will be back.

This was our first time coming to The Brigantine and we LOVED it! The location was great, the dining was superb and the ambiance was amazing. When you first walk in there are parts of boats to fit the fish restaurant's theme and it's really cute. We got to sit at a booth and we had a view of the la mesa city. Beautiful day, beautiful place.

We started out with the shrimp and crab fondue with garlic bread to dip in and it was more than delicious. A big yes! Definitely recommend!

For our main meal I ordered a stuffed salmon with rice and veggies (um, delicious!) and my husband ordered the seafood gumbo and he was more than impressed (and he's a picky eater).

Our server Matt went beyond the stars to give my husband and I an amazing experience at the brigantine and he was very kind to give us a small dessert on the house. Matt was kind, punctual and always made sure everything was going great.

We are definitely planning on coming back. Thank you Brigantine for an amazing anniversary dinner!

Years ago I went here often, haven't been in about for 10 years or so.

Great seafood, great atmosphere, great service! My mother-in-law gave us a gift card to this restaurant and we made reservations not thinking much of it. When we arrived at the restaurant we totally discovered this hidden gem! We were a little disappointed that although we made reservations the hostess was going to fit us in the back of the restaurant near the restrooms but she was more than accommodating when we asked for another seat. It was a busy night so we understood she was just trying to seat us. Would definitely recommend!

Average food that is slightly over priced. They don't have a "Fresh Fish" menu and fish selection is very limited.
