Trying to support our local restaurants who are attempting to be creative and resilient in these hard times. Indoor dining is now closed down again . . . patio dining is fine but when the temps are 93 to 100 degrees it makes for some uncomfortable seating. Not the restaurant's fault. Menu was limited to the bar menu, not a lot of privacy on the patio seating areas. But food was good. Service was excellent and I will continue to support this spot all I can to help them stay open
The reservation was for the patio but it was missed. Was seated in the bar patio which worked out great. We were not in a hurry and the patio at no time was full. The waitress served us well not being in a hurry she did not rush us either. Food as always was delicious. There was just a bit of noise from the street on occasion again not an issue.
Whenever we stay in Escondido (we have a time share) we always make time to have dinner at The Brigantine. We've been coming here for years and always have a great meal. This year we celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary and were given a slice of their delicious Mud Pie!
Thank you Brigantine for always feeding us right!
Nice restaurant primarily for fish entrees. Well prepared. Very good service.
Asst waiter had mask below his nose standing 18" away from me, I am an older person, first time to a restaurant since March. I now checked with San Diego county which requires servers to cover mouth and nose. I will not consider returning for a bit. Food was average, mine small portions.
Manager was a bit rude. Server was great although she had too many people to attend to to stay on top of our table with our needs.
Not the same as before in prior visits. Food was ok. Not thrilled with the lobster. Will stick with Red Lobster for that. Steak was ok. Calamari like usual was great, as well as the clam chowder.
Outstanding seafood... wonderful relaxing atmosphere.
A very good meal and service was great. Good social distancing and care.
Lobster was great, just a little under-cooked.
Calamari was great.
Burgers were great.
I know you are a seafood restaurant, but your steaks are to die for. The ribeye was excellent.
First dinning out experience since covid restrictions lifted . Appreciated the many safety practices implemented, enforced and followed . Felt they really cared about ensuring we had a comfortable and SAFE experience. Will return .
always a good dinner here!! So glad you are back open!
I had the Sand Dabs and they were great as usual. Of course, it was not crowded and the waiter was great too.
As always, the food was very good at the Brig. They did not have any specials, but hopefully that will come soon, they always have great specials. We had a great experience, my only negative, which is no fault of the restaurant, is having to wear a mask before being seated.
My fiancé and I went for our anniversary dinner a couple days ago and sat out on the patio which was so beautiful! Our waitress Charline (I believe her name was) was amazing!! She was joking around with us and having a good time given the circumstance in the world right now. First time and won’t be our last! ❤️
Had their wagyu burger, it was really good! French fries were okay. Hubby ordered the fish tacos, those were awesome!
Alexander was a very nice server and the food was delicious
Too expensive for what you get. Very loud and I didn't see anyone sanitizing the tables after people left. We won't be back.
Was nice and service was great
We had been eating at the Brig at least once a week pre-Covid because the food is exceptional. Not so this time. The batter on the fish and chips was thick and greasy. Normally one of our favorites. Maybe not the same chef, or just having an off day! We will be back.
We had a lovely time. The service was excellent.
Excellent service and so nice to go out again. The menu was a little limited which was a little disappointing but food was great!
They have done a great job of social distancing and I felt very safe. The food was as good as ever. So happy to get my Fish Taco “fix”.
Service was prompt and courteous. Menu is interesting, not run-of-the-mill. Food was very good too delicious.
shut kitchen 2 minutes before arrival (8 pm) after we called to confirm the restaurant was open until 9:30
I went with my 3 friends to celebrate my birthday. everything was amazing! Food incredible, our server was the best! 10 out of 10.
We enjoyed our visit to Brigantine Escondido. The food and service were both very good. The dining room was comfortable.
The ambiance is very nice and our service was great. However, my husband's prime rib was tasteless and his vegetables were raw. I, however had the salmon plated over a mixture of diced sweet potatoes, spinach, cherry tomatoes, and cippilina onions. It was quite delicious and a generous portion. For dessert, we shared the cheesecake which was ok.
Awesome Fish & Chips.
Brunch was delicious! Also our server treated us to some special treats as well to celebrate a birthday.
Made a reservation for the day after V-day. It was a busy time. But they worked us in. Food was very good but the Maine lobster tails were the size of California lobsters. The staff was very friendly.
Had a reservation for Valentine’s Day. Confirmed at their request. Day if they called and asked if patio
Seating was OK. It was not our preference but turned out to be OK. Meal was great. They have very tasty Oysters Rockefeller.
Really enjoyed the food and the service. We stayed a long time and didn't fell rushed. I highly recommend
The server did not know how to properly serve lobster tails. He did not remove the lobster from the tails nor remove the tails. Nor did he provided the proper fork. The tails were moist and tasty.
Also server failed to tell us of that night’s specials. We overheard him telling other patrons but we had already had our meals. This server needs more training.
We go to the Brig often. This is our first unsatisfactory meal.
Yes we will return and overall recommend this restaurant. We assume this is a one-off.
Loved our waiter. The entire staff did flawlessly. I really enjoyed my time. I’m very picky and demanding so my high ratings should tell you that I was very happy with everything. Will be back and thank you.
Extremely attentive staff with focus on ensuring a good quality meal. Ahi appetizer superb. Salads a little heavy on dressings. Coconut shrimp had good flavor but was unfortunately overcooked. Mud pie a delicious way to end a very good, satisfying meal.
Scillies and prime rib were excellent.
Service was good and friendly
Outstanding steak and soft shell crab. Extremely tender and flavorful beef. The crab was crispy with a wonderful sauce. The entire party was also delighted with the quality of the food.
Service could have been a little better at the beginning but it was a busy Friday evening and the place was full.
The food was excellent and the service was wonderful. Good for dinner before a play or concert.
Great food and friendly service
