Wonderful salad, patio was pleasant, service was very good.
The Brigantine has two lovely patios, one off the dining room and the other off the bar. Service is polite, approachable, and efficient. The food is very well prepared and very tasty.
We love Brigantine and frequent there often. However, I would have given them all 5 starts if we could have sat outside. When we made our reservation through Open Table we requested outside ... when we got there we were told that it was full outside. Since we love eating here we sat inside and have an enjoyable time but would have preferred outside. Quite noisy inside.
Great service; good food & a full, happy place
We had reservations for outdoor but when we arrived they gave us an excuse that OpenTable doesn’t notify them and that the outdoor tables were already reserved. The hostess walked us to an indoor table and as we looked outside, it was mostly empty. We decided to politely leave. As we left the entrance door, we overheard another hostess mention to incoming guests that there were outdoor tables available if they wanted them. We didn’t feel accommodated for the error and didn’t feel welcomed.
Our waitress was super nice. All of the staff was very friendly and attentive to our groups needs.
This was first time at Brigantine and it was a wonderful experience. The food was delicious and the staff and atmosphere was a pleasure to be in. We will most certainly recommend it and be back ourselves.
The Brig is our go to restaurant for over forty years. Thank you for making our 56 anniversary special.
Service was excellent. Food was good, the only reason I marked a 4/5 was because my fish had bones in it. Nice place. Wish the location was a bit nicer, not so close to the gas station.
Nice patio experience. We all had different seafood entrees and were very happy with our choices. Service was great and we weren't rushed but at the same time it was attentive. Made for a pleasant evening with friends.
I enjoy The Brigantine, however I don't think I would have breakfast there again. Stick to what they are known for - seafood.
Always a good meal at the Brig. Try the calamari sticks for an appetizer....the best in town!
Service left a lot to be desired! Drinks delivered without napkin underneath so moisture became an issue. The napkins were brought one at a time?!?!?
Drink (vodka tonic) delivered minus the vodka....server apologized as she ‘forgot’ to write order correctly!?!?
When separate bills presented for 3 ladies, drinks and meal orders all mixed up....had to redo all the bills.
My hope is the waitress was new and will improve....otherwise hope I never get this absent minded waitress again!
Still an outstanding place for a really good dinner.
The Mahi Mahi was very good as was the risotto that came with it.. The service was excellent and the noise level was low. My only complaint was that the vegetables weren't cooked. They were so tough that I couldn't cut them even with a knife. I know that the current trend is to cook al dente, but this wasn't even close to that. My husband had the halibut and his asparagus was fine. Overall the food was very good, except for the mixed vegetables.
Enjoyed our meal.
Always enjoy the food at Brigantine. All servers were super focused on creating a great dining experience. Highly recommend.
Fish tacos were awesome as always but they took them off happy hour menu now :(
Always a great experience! Oyster Rockefeller were great!
Mother’s Day lunch
Brig is always a strong go to. I sense the worker shortage from Government subsidies in wait staff, but we are grateful to be out and enjoying FREEDOM.
The food was good the wait was long to get our food and to get our check took 30 minutes
Trying to support our local restaurants who are attempting to be creative and resilient in these hard times. Indoor dining is now closed down again . . . patio dining is fine but when the temps are 93 to 100 degrees it makes for some uncomfortable seating. Not the restaurant's fault. Menu was limited to the bar menu, not a lot of privacy on the patio seating areas. But food was good. Service was excellent and I will continue to support this spot all I can to help them stay open
The reservation was for the patio but it was missed. Was seated in the bar patio which worked out great. We were not in a hurry and the patio at no time was full. The waitress served us well not being in a hurry she did not rush us either. Food as always was delicious. There was just a bit of noise from the street on occasion again not an issue.
Whenever we stay in Escondido (we have a time share) we always make time to have dinner at The Brigantine. We've been coming here for years and always have a great meal. This year we celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary and were given a slice of their delicious Mud Pie!
Thank you Brigantine for always feeding us right!
Nice restaurant primarily for fish entrees. Well prepared. Very good service.
Asst waiter had mask below his nose standing 18" away from me, I am an older person, first time to a restaurant since March. I now checked with San Diego county which requires servers to cover mouth and nose. I will not consider returning for a bit. Food was average, mine small portions.
Manager was a bit rude. Server was great although she had too many people to attend to to stay on top of our table with our needs.
Not the same as before in prior visits. Food was ok. Not thrilled with the lobster. Will stick with Red Lobster for that. Steak was ok. Calamari like usual was great, as well as the clam chowder.
Outstanding seafood... wonderful relaxing atmosphere.
A very good meal and service was great. Good social distancing and care.
Lobster was great, just a little under-cooked.
Calamari was great.
Burgers were great.
I know you are a seafood restaurant, but your steaks are to die for. The ribeye was excellent.
First dinning out experience since covid restrictions lifted . Appreciated the many safety practices implemented, enforced and followed . Felt they really cared about ensuring we had a comfortable and SAFE experience. Will return .
always a good dinner here!! So glad you are back open!
I had the Sand Dabs and they were great as usual. Of course, it was not crowded and the waiter was great too.
As always, the food was very good at the Brig. They did not have any specials, but hopefully that will come soon, they always have great specials. We had a great experience, my only negative, which is no fault of the restaurant, is having to wear a mask before being seated.
My fiancé and I went for our anniversary dinner a couple days ago and sat out on the patio which was so beautiful! Our waitress Charline (I believe her name was) was amazing!! She was joking around with us and having a good time given the circumstance in the world right now. First time and won’t be our last! ❤️
Had their wagyu burger, it was really good! French fries were okay. Hubby ordered the fish tacos, those were awesome!
Alexander was a very nice server and the food was delicious
