Brigantine Del Mar
Well-known for our signature Clam Chowder, Grilled Swordfish, and Crème Brûlée, the Brigantine is a favorite among locals for consistently fresh seafood, succulent steaks and grilled meats.
Perched between the spectacular Pacific Ocean and the hills of Rancho Santa Fe, the Del Mar Brigantine sits high above the action of the Del Mar racetrack.
A lushly landscaped garden offers an unparalleled setting for weddings and outdoor-themed events. Indoors, a formal dining room looks out to the garden through floor-to-ceiling french doors. For more casual dining, the glass-enclosed deck is a year-round favorite.
The Del Mar Brigantine serves dinner 7 nights a week, lunch Monday-Saturday, and brunch each Sunday.

So appreciate the table on patio deck as requested. Service was excellent, good care of seniors!
We have been to Brigantine Del Mar many times. The cuisine is excellent, and this visit was especially nice because of how lovely, attentive, efficient and "just right" service provided.
Wasn’t point eligible, but they were happy to take my open table reservation.
It was ok...reasonable prices.
While I prefer to avoid restaurants where valet parking is required, Brigantine is an exception. The views are terrific, food is good and the service was really excellent. Nice variety for the weekend brunch menu and the portions are more than adequate.
Beautiful spot walking distance to the beach. Love it here.
Lobster was great, drinks were great! lighting was way to bright over booths, otherwise nice evening.
My husband and I went to the Brigantine for my birthday. We did like our dinner and the service was excellent but the noise level was so loud we couldn't even hear each other talk. It probably was the table behind us which had about 8 very intoxicated people enjoying themselves but it was just very difficult to even have a conversation.
We love this place. The food is always good and there is a great view. We had a business associate/friend who loves seafoods for us a vegetarian and we knew would appreciate the location especially.
Our waiter was very nice but we had a few issues. The serious one was that when he described the fish special - in great detail down to the pureed cauliflower- he failed to mention the chorizo. We do not eat pork (our friend fortunately ordered something else) and we only realized the meat part way through. It was unsettling for us to have had that. It is a fish place and I imagine there are lots of people who don’t eat meat who go there. He was nice about it and brought us new plates but it left us with a very bad feeling. We saw he comped a dessert from our bill.
We also had to ask for water to be refilled several times. We were all taking from each other until we could grab a waiter. Maybe they were just having a busy time.
I’m sure we will be back there as we do like it. We will be sure to ask if there is meat in whatever dish just to make sure.
Although we live about 30 minutes away and have many restaurants much closer, the drive is always worth the effort as Brigantine Del Mar never disappoints.
The Brigantine food never disappoints. All four of us had different items and everything was cooked to perfection. Very noisy in patio area at dinner hour, which made it difficult to hear conversation. Our waiter was not great. He was gone for long periods of time without checking back to see if anyone needed anything (ex: no salt and pepper on tables). I think this is unusual for this restaurant, as I have eaten here many times so it will not deter me from eating here again.
First time here and really enjoyed it. Took my elderly parents and they loved it, too. We were initially seated at a table but the din was quite loud. A nearby booth opened up and they let us move there. Our server, Lisa, was very attentive and patient with my parents. She was terrific. A nice time was had by all. Mussels were very good, and my burger was excellent. Creme brulee was nice treat for dessert. Thanks again! We'll be back!
Our meal was carefully prepared (down to the delicately seasoned veggies and incredibly fresh seafood). It was our first visit to San Diego from Pennsylvania, so service was just as important as the quality of the food. Our server (Todd) was knowledgeable, personable, and attentive. The ambiance was perfect! The sound level allowed for conversation. There was a nice mix of casually dressed patrons as well as those more formally dressed- making it easy to never be over- or under-dressed. We highly recommend!
Best shrimp Louie salad ever at a great price. Great ambiance. Nice place to bring out-of-town guests.
We were seated in a very dark corner of the restaurant. It was hard to see our food.
Ignored at the table for a long time, finally asked a passing by server for service, luckily he was assigned to our table instead of the hiding or busy server; from this moment everything was fine.
We met with friends from out of town. The meal, service and ambiance could not have been better. We had great service form James and the staff that assisted him. The crab cakes and shrimp were great as starters and the salmon wad perfect. The ginger ale was thirst quenching. We look forward to our next visit. Thank you for a great meal and a pleasant place to meet with friends.
Always great fish! The macadamia nut crusted mahi mahi and Sandra dabs were delicious!
Exceptional seafood restaurant with loads of ambiance, great food and an extensive wine list. I had their Macadamian Nut crusted Mahi Mahi that was about the best I have had. Prices were reasonable as well. Highly recommended!
Excellent seafood restaurant with outstanding menu and superb and extensive wine list. Well prepared seafood and nice ambiance overlooking the Delmar race track.
Great food! Will return.
Nice view, good menu selections and fish entrees well prepared.
great server that knew the menu and specials backwards and forwards. I will always take visitors to this place. Impressive views over the track.
Noise level on the patio is extreme. All windows need to be opened to allow some of the loud conversations to exit the patio. Or issue duct tape.
Service was good but a little slow. We sat in a room which we had never been seated before and the noise level was really load.
beautiful views. Great service. Delicious food
The food pairings did not make sense and not cooked very well. Green beans French fries and tacos just should not go together.
Good food, great service, and a great view. Nice place for a sunset dinner
It was a pleasant evening. The heaters on the patio work really well...service was pleasant. We spilt a salad and the New York steak and it was just the right amount. The steak was delicious.
Very slow service when restaurant was not very crowded.
Our server, Todd seemed insincere. When asking me if everything was OK he didn't wait for a response, just checking the box. Asking a question and not waiting for a response is not good serve. I felt embarrassed in front my my son's girlfriend and her parents when I lifted my head in mid response to the question and saw that Todd was halfway across the restaurant.
Very good food! Enjoyed it very much with great views.
Great place for lunch with a friend. Deck is fabuous and warm.
Felt rushed food came out so quickly we were not even done with appetizers and main course was out.
First, the food a Brigantine Del Mar is fantastic! There were 6 in our party and EVERYONE had a memorable dish. The salmon, the octopus, even their prime rib were all amazing! We were intially seated in the 'back' area - (more windows, lots of heaters) where it was WAY too loud and, seriously, the heaters were set to 'broil' - we couldn't even sit there! Once our group was moved into the 'main' restaurant area, the sound level was tolerable and the temps were perfect and we enjoyed a fantastic evening.
After we gave our order, it took 50 minutes until our meals arrived. I asked for the sauce on the side, and my meal arrived with sauce all over the meal. I didn't mention this to our server, as we couldn't add more time to our meal.
The forced valet parking is ridiculous since your parking lot is huge! Not a good experience overall...will not go back! Totally NOT worth the drive down the 5 from OC.
The food at Brigantine was good, and we liked the menu. The restaurant was particularly noisy, with what appeared to be numerous people getting together for happy hour versus dinner. Not sure if the restaurant would have been less noisy later in the evening, but it was packed and loud enough it was difficult to hear each other across a relatively small table for 2. I anticipate we will give it another chance in the future, as the food was good.
When I arrived, the place was packed. My table was ready, and our party of 6 was seated right away. The meal was great, and our server met our needs. The Brigantine has a great vibe.
My friends and I almost always go to the Brigantine to celebrates our birthdays or whatever.
The food is terrific and views are sensational. The parking could use some help, but the attendants
are courteous and the Brigantine staff are excellent. Will be coming here for a long time.
Wife had the crab cakes and a glass of the Brigantine's Chardonnay Saturday night at the Del Mar location. She woke up at 3 am so sick I contemplated taking her to the hospital but she said no. Destroyed her and killed Sunday planned gig. Emailed Brigantine and told them this and had a Brigantine representative call me to basically state that "well, nobody else got sick." Real nice. Wife says never-ever again there.
