Well-known for our signature Clam Chowder, Grilled Swordfish, and Crème Brûlée, the Brigantine is a favorite among locals for consistently fresh seafood, succulent steaks and grilled meats.

Perched between the spectacular Pacific Ocean and the hills of Rancho Santa Fe, the Del Mar Brigantine sits high above the action of the Del Mar racetrack.

A lushly landscaped garden offers an unparalleled setting for weddings and outdoor-themed events. Indoors, a formal dining room looks out to the garden through floor-to-ceiling french doors. For more casual dining, the glass-enclosed deck is a year-round favorite.

The Del Mar Brigantine serves dinner 7 nights a week, lunch Monday-Saturday, and brunch each Sunday.

What a wonderful experience! One of us was craving a steak and the other a pasta dish. Despite not having a pasta dish on the menu, the waiter was kind enough to offer a spin on a kids menu item. Turned out perfect. Seriously one of the best seafood pasta dishes we’ve had in months. Straightforward, but incredibly flavorful. Not too heavy, not too light. Couldn’t have asked for a better impromptu date night. Thanks!

It's just been disappointing because we eat the Brig a lot and have for over thirty years. I ordered Shrimp and Grits and they arrived in a hot plate but the grits and shrimp were luke warm to cold. Even the second serving was still luke warm but I did not tell the waiter because it seemed to me that that was the way it was going to be served that night. The waiter forgot a few requests, like salt and soy sauce for my daughter. She had to remind him three times. It was not a very busy night as we ate very early (6:30). We do like eating there but the food seems lately to be hit or miss. The atmosphere is very appealing and the location is close to where we live so we will be back but I cannot give you five stars because this time we were disappointed. Also my waiter brought my drink and then forgot to ask if I wanted another one mid meal which I did. Service was sketchy. Sorry.

We loved our waiter, Tod, he is a professional, excellent waiter and just a wonderful guy as well. We do however, on the last several visits (we are local), question the hostesses for professionalism, maturity and customer service. They have been different each time, but young, inattentive, do not seem to care much and talk between themselves. 5 star in all areas but the hostesses...

My wait person didn't go over the specials as we heard another waitperson going over specials with another table afterwards.No mention of our anniversary till the end of the meal when he brought up ice cream cake with candle .

If it hadn’t been for our outstanding server, it would have been about 5 out of 10 but we value good service just as much as the food and even though one of our dishes wasn’t very good, she gladly took it off and offered a free dessert. We did enjoy our drinks would give it another try just because of her.

Great venue with a wonderful view. I would give them 5 stars but they served me this awesome lobster and crab salad but used iceberg lettuce on it! Please use some mixed field greens.

The food the surface and the mimosas were excellent sea pork belly was a little tough and the server took it off of the bill but other than that everything was great. Thank you for Brigantine

We had a reservation at 6 pm, but, arrived at 5 pm. We were accommodated and were seated at a great table by the windows with a nice view of the race track. The staff was thrown a bit so we did not get service for a while. A server came and filled our wine glasses with iced water mentioning that he was not really our server. I noted that others received water glasses and bread baskets quickly upon being seated so we missed out on that (the bread was served after our appetizer). The food was quite good though. The Chef knows how to cook seafood! My wife had the lobster tacos that had a healthy serving of lobster and a tasty jicama/cucumber slaw . I had the dinner special of macadamia and coconut crusted white fish topped with a sauteed scallop and shrimp. It was served with al dente veggies and risotto. We tried the highly recommended mud pie for dessert which was OK. Service was better as the meal went.

We have always enjoyed the Brigantine but the deafening noise level the last two times we were there for dinner was a horrifying. The wait staff was aware because they could barely get our order even with us screaming. Next time we'll leave. It really ruined our experience.

The meal was fantastic, the best swordfish I have ever had. The service was great and our waitress exceptional. The only negative would be that it appears that the only parking is Valet since that was the only sign but no customer parking sign posted. Therefore we had to park across the street and pay the city.

We made reservation, so it was no waiting time at all. The food was good, on time and we had great time dining with the friends. We would definitely visit again next year - coming here for the meeting every October for the last four years. The only thing I'd like to see better next time - cleanliness of the table. It was sticky.

While we asked for an ocean view and about a month prior, we got a race track view, which was okay.
We were glad to the meal special value which we took advantage of. Very good food and drinks. We came away happy with value and food. Service help were excellent in all aspects.

We celebrated a birthday at Brigatine. The mud pie was delicious and the service was good. The food was decent, but nothing to brag about. We requested for a window table, but did not get the table we requested for. Overall the experience was a good. Thank You!

The whole experience was excellent. Our swordfish was cooked perfectly-moist and tender. Our meal was served nice and hot. The waiter knew his job. He was there when needed and anticipated our needs. The view was spectacular overlooking the race track and the ocean.

I took my good friend there for her birthday lunch and we had excellent service from an excellent waitress. The ambiance was perfect for a celebration and we enjoyed being so close to the water.
The food was excellent as always!

From initial greeting our waitress seemed disappointed that we weren't going to be ordering cocktails or wine right away, thereby increasing the overall bill and ultimately her tip. She spent too much time socializing with other larger parties and ignored us throughout the service.

After we arrived and were seated promptly our remaining party arrived shortly thereafter and had to wait 20 minutes before a server came back to take their drink orders.
Food not as good as we've had there before. Chowder was extremely salty, too thick and a weird flavor. We we're told brigantine has fabulous clam chowder..we meeting many good clam chowder and this was not one.

Stuffed shrimp was overcooked sent back second cooking was better.

However our waiter was fabulous his name was Todd and did his very best to accommodate us .

We enjoyed their 50 year anniversary deal of 2 meals for $50.
The place was busy even on a Wednesday and the was waiter very busy

Have been to the Brig restaurants many times, look forward to the "Brig Margarita" in a shaker, out of product although on menu, wasn't interested in substitute as it did not allow control of amount put in glass and seemed to be less than the original. Disappointing was the New York steak selected as part of the 50th anniversary special, had more sinew than meat. First time I have left a Brig let down.
