A San Diego tradition since 1969, the Brigantine has received numerous accolades during our 40+ year history: "BEST SEAFOOD", "BEST CASUAL SEAFOOD", "BEST HAPPY HOUR", and even "BEST SWORDFISH IN THE WORLD", according to USA Today - just to name a few.

Well-known for our signature Clam Chowder, Grilled Swordfish & Crème Brûlée, the Brigantine is a favorite among locals for consistently fresh seafood, succulent steaks & grilled meats.

A favorite destination for locals & tourists alike, the Coronado Brigantine is located in the heart of the village, immediately adjacent to the historic Hotel Del Coronado.

Completely remodeled in 2016, the "new" Coronado Brigantine is an elegant adaptation of its former self. The addition of an intimate private dining room, a surround-seating bar and street-side outdoor patio have been equally well-received.

The Coronado Brigantine serves dinner 7 nights a week, as well as lunch Monday-Saturday.

I was greeted well by the hostess and was directed to my reserved table (via open table) which was near to a door, which led to the men’s toilet and further down to the ladies toilet. Away from all the tables, which were occupied by the white (Caucasian) crowd. Yes, I am Indian born Canadian citizen, on a vacation in San Diego. Amazing, isn’t it? What do you make of this? Does racism still prevail?🤔🧐

The oysters were fresh (delicious) and so was the catch of the day (Halibut with asparagus, capers and seafood puff pastry). I know my fish and when it is fresh.😋

Been awhile since last visit and upon arriving seen it has had a total makeover. Do miss the old atmosphere but like everything upgrade is always due. Had a reservation and was seated promptly. Very nice waitress came over explained some new things and took drink order. We had a few drinks and ordered shrimp and crap fondue. Took awhile for the normally delicious bread and butter to arrive but once it came it was stale so we were disappointed did not say anything since we had the appetizer coming. Waitress then took our orders. Mom had a bowl of clam chowder and dinner salad with the special of night scallops I ordered filet medium plus daughter had soup and salad. When fondue came it was just ok very cheesy and a little went a long way. Then comes out the soup and salads. I then told the waitress we were in no hurry so please don’t put in food order since we wanted to enjoy our soup and salad without main course being brought out. Well that didn’t happen here came the meal. First off clam chowder tasted like it was straight from a can. Salad was very good. Scallops raw sent back my steak butterflied and was not asked for it that way was cold along with mashed potatoes and carrots. Sent back. Out comes a new order and scallops still raw grey inside. And now my steak is charred. A manager comes by sees that we’re not happy and asks if she can bring a free dessert. No we are not looking for a free dessert we wanted a delicious dinner but they did not deliver. The food was taken off bill but still not a good experience so we would not be back. A sad night at the brigantine also heard others complaining as well so maybe the chiefs were a bit off. I would not recommend there are plenty other great places to enjoy a high end dinner on the island.

I had been told by a colleague that this restaurant would be a great option for an evening out with friends or even a date. Sadly, my colleague was terribly mistaken. The server read us the entire menu, I kid you not, the ENTIRE menu! After that he brought the food tremendously late AND cold... He kept repeating “remember good service means big tips” to us as though by saying that we would recognize that his service was “good” and leave a big tip. This server just like my colleague was: terribly mistaken. We did not leave a big tip for his bad quality service, however, we did leave with a bad experience of the place and service. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone nor am I inclined to return to this location.

Ambiemce was great had not been in resturant in years, nice surprise. Christina our server was attentive and gracious. Food was delicious we had the ribeye and fish tacos. We will come back especially for lunch. Great value.

Our initial table was in a crowded area along the path to the kitchen. Awful! The hostess took great care to (re)seat us to a better table where we enjoyed a wonderful dinner. Their customer focus was evident.

We wanted seafood in a Coronado location and this is what they specialize in. We arrived early and were seated immediately, a very nice gesture, but after we were seated the couple at the next table became very loud, even obnoxious. I asked the hostess if we could be re-accommodated at another table and she did so very discretely.
My wife ordered fish and chips and I ordered the 3 course dinner of the day which happened to be blackened cod. Unfortunately it proved very spicy, and even scraping off the blackening didn't help. Our server noticed my distress and asked, and I explained my problem. She offered to bring me something else, and mentioned that they could bring another serving of fish and chips quite quickly. It was very tasty and, topped off with dessert, we left very well satisfied.
I advised the manager how appreciative we were our server's resolution and he was glad to hear it.

We were a group of 11 who requested separate checks. The waiter was amazing! She took great care and we all got our food at about the same time. The oysters and haddock were outstanding. After dinner we walked over to the Coronado del Gadolinium hotel! Fabulous dinner and evening. We will definitely return.

food was very average , nothing special !they brought starter and mean at the same time . they mentioned they are bringing bread and butter and it didnt came . There was no fish taco in their menu !

The Brigantine is one of our must does when we visit Coronado. On this occasion we had Jessica as a server. She was beyond outstanding. On a scale of 1 to 10 Jessica is easily a 100!! If the restaurant has a full staff of Jessica's there would never be an available table and reservations would be tough to come by.

Of course the food was fantastic which is why we go there.

We go to the Brigantine quite often. The sand dabs are outstanding. The spinach salad is very good. The tacos are good, although I wish they would find another supplier for the tortillas-- they are not the best-tasting. The beef in my taco was good, but cold. The fish in the tacos is fresh, but the taco as a whole is a bit tasteless. The poke is delicious, although the serving is way too small for the price. The white sauce and the artichoke fritters are not nearly as good as they were in the old Brigantine. The cocktails are expensive, even at happy hour. The place is cheerful and noisy, and the service is good and sometimes a lot of fun. Very busy in the bar on Taco Tuesdays.

Food was delicious! We dined early at 5 pm and the service was spotty at best. Never had our water glasses refilled or asked if we wanted an additional cocktail. Waited for a long time after dinner for my husband's dessert to arrive but the bill sure was delivered fast!!!
