Well-known for our signature Clam Chowder, Grilled Swordfish & Crème Brûlée, the Brigantine is a favorite among locals for consistently fresh seafood, succulent steaks & grilled meats.
A favorite destination for locals & tourists alike, the Coronado Brigantine is located in the heart of the village, immediately adjacent to the historic Hotel Del Coronado.
Completely remodeled in 2016, the "new" Coronado Brigantine is an elegant adaptation of its former self. The addition of an intimate private dining room, a surround-seating bar and street-side outdoor patio have been equally well-received.
The Coronado Brigantine serves dinner 7 nights a week, as well as lunch Monday-Saturday.
Delicious food. Great service. Fabulous location!
Nothing to write home about. I won't visit this restaurant again. Ordered the "grilled" octopus and it didn't touch a grill.
The food was great. The prices were good and the service was awesome!!!
We had heard that the tuna was "to die for," but we came away from our mean at Brigantine thinking the same thing about the salmon. The service was excellent; we loved the appetizers and sides. The "bar" side of this restaurant has a fair amount of noise, but the level of noise really goes down on the restaurant side. This restaurant gets high recommendations from us.
After a very expensive and mediocre meal at the Hotel del Coronado, finding the Brig was most welcome! The oysters were fabulous, the salad was delicious, and the mains (we had halibut and sand dabs) were sizeable and delicious. Price was very reasonable, service was excellent and wine choices were good by the glass. Would go back anytime!
Superb food was great. Ambiance was nice. Parking typically difficult on Coronado.
Amazing dining experience!!! Everything was delicious: Appetizers, salads, main courses...exceeded my expectations!!!
We had made a reservation well in advance. We arrived on time and were told our table was not ready and we would have to wait at least 15 mins. Also they told us they would take care of desert and they never ask what we would like....they brought creme burlee we would preferred chocolate....thought it was a comp...nope they charged us. Not a great experience. In credibly loud !
Service wasn't very good. Hostess seated us, someone brought water, but waiter only took drink then food order and only returned to leave the bill. Also, fish was good but sides made the dish heavier than it should be for a fish-based meal.
We ate here before a play and were very happy with the food and the service. My husband had the sand dabs which are a favorite of his and I had the fish and chips. The fish is very fresh and well prepared. The lemon sauce on the sand dabs was just right and the fresh Alaskan cod was crispy and mild. Our server was always there when we needed him and was happy to add anchovies to our Ceasar salad on request. Would definitely go back again.
The restaurant is too loud for conversation. The clam chowder was chalky in taste. The food overall was disappointing. However, our server was excelIent. I would not return or recommend it to others.
What a beautiful restaurant. We ate in their outside seating that was very sheltered but right in the middle of the activity on the street which was fun. The bar had beautiful, comfortable bar stools and had seating in 3 sides. It would be a perfect place to eat if you were just one or two. The wine was very nice and the cocktails also. I had the roast chicken with rosemary potatoes and a chard caper jus. I would certainly recommend this dish and order it again. Excellent and presented beautifully. My husband had fish and chips. His fish was flavorful and nice and crisp. We would visit again if we had more time.
The food was wonderful and there was a good selection to choose from. Very pleased with the service. Will definitely be back!
My wife and I both had the First Catch deal and both were really good.
It is not what was before....poor menu and very poor food. Sorry
Our waitress was attentive, interested, and alert.
Made a reservation for dinner , it was for anniversary , requested a booth. The hosts put us at a terrible table, no booth, and they forgot to occasion. You need staff with communication skills , and pay attention to reservation requests, next time i am in SanDiego i wont be back.
Very good food; but pacing was off. Drinks were slow to arrive, then salad arrived about two sips into our drinks. We were half way thru our salads when the server brought our main course (fish). We were not dawdling, it seemed like they were trying to hurry folks and turn the tables.
Gotta say, the Brig still has the best cioppino I've ever had, anywhere. It's all I order, and it's the reason I go back. That, and the mud pie.... yikes! Easily enough for four people!
Hubby's baseball steak & frites was just right, although we both prefer thin crisp frites instead of thick cut. Otherwise very nice!
Good service, good value.
Great ambiance, noise level typical of a restaurant and bar. Lots of natural light and outdoor seating is a plus. Food and drink we're outstanding and service was excellent. A bit on the pricey side...but hey it's Coronado...
The crab and lobster salad was delicious. My wife had this tacos. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable. We have been eating here for years and will certainly return!
We were seated immediately on a Wednesday evening. Our server was great at first, he took our orders then disappeared. The bread served was hot and delicious. We ordered the shrimp and crab fondue was delicious and served hot. We ordered the filet with veggies and potatoes, and the stuffed shrimp. Both were delicious. We only saw our server once while eating and could not find him to refill our drinks. We did not have dessert because we were stuffed. Loved this area and wished we had more time to explore!
We had excellent service and the food was spectacular. I definitely would go back. The food combinations were wonderful and the presentation was fantastic. Beautiful and tasty meals.
Excellent food and service. Ordered wine. Waitress brought sample which was not to our liking then she reminded us of their half price off a bottle special so we upgraded to an expensive bottle at half off and had a fantastic wine that was affordable. Excellent overall experience.
Went their with my wife celebrating our 7year anniversary. We loved the place, service & food with an accommodating price. Its a place my wife and I will repeat.
Great service and good food!
Celebrating our 35th Wedding Anniversary we were looking for a nice, quiet high quality seafood restaurant. It was a Sunday night, the place was packed and super loud. Kids running around, screaming and we could hardly have a conversation between the two of us. The shrimp cocktail tasted as if it had been frozen, the shrimp were small. I didn't find a single clam in the clam chowder. If you want a place to take the kids and have them run wild - this apparently is it.
Wonderful waiter and food and drinks were great!
Average at best. I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here. Found the food to be basic and uninspired. Ambiance is okay and service was acceptable.
A lovely lunch with my husband with fresh oysters and the best salad. A Bellini just topped if off. Adrian was our server and he was great.
Amazing food, portions were small.
But overall, I will definitely be coming back.
Excellent food and drink! Great service. Highly recommend. Fabulous location.
My wife had the coconut shrimp and I had the New York Steak.
Both were very good.
Anniversary celebration. Fantastic service. Exceptional food. We dined on the Sea Dabs and the Wok-Seared Ahi. Both were very good. Cooked and seasoned perfectly. I would recommend this restaurant for any occasion. It’s as casual or as dressed up as you want it.
Yes--great swordfish..and lots of locals which we love. Wonderful service and a good buz
Food was very disappointing.
Very disappointing evening. Celebrating our anniversary and made reservations a month ahead of time. Initially placed at a tiny table against a wall. After requesting a larger table, we were seated in the middle of "Disneyland" surrounded by very young, very noisy children. Thanks a lot. Servers were very attentive and main course was excellent...but bread basket was dried out like day old bread....and we had to ask for another. Couldn't wait to finish eating and leave asap. If you want a quiet, adult dining experience, don't eat here, try somewhere else. If you complain, don't expect the restaurant to make things better.
Oysters were not as good as they should have been.
Great!! Love living in coronado
Food portions are very small for the price. Crab cakes are awesome but Filet Mignon was tough and not season properly.
