About Brigantine Coronado
A San Diego tradition since 1969, the Brigantine has received numerous accolades during our 40+ year history: "BEST SEAFOOD", "BEST CASUAL SEAFOOD", "BEST HAPPY HOUR", and even "BEST SWORDFISH IN THE WORLD", according to USA Today - just to name a few.
Well-known for our signature Clam Chowder, Grilled Swordfish & Crème Brûlée, the Brigantine is a favorite among locals for consistently fresh seafood, succulent steaks & grilled meats.
A favorite destination for locals & tourists alike, the Coronado Brigantine is located in the heart of the village, immediately adjacent to the historic Hotel Del Coronado.
Completely remodeled in 2016, the "new" Coronado Brigantine is an elegant adaptation of its former self. The addition of an intimate private dining room, a surround-seating bar and street-side outdoor patio have been equally well-received.
The Coronado Brigantine serves dinner 7 nights a week, as well as lunch Monday-Saturday.

Brigantine Coronado Ratings and Reviews
This was our first visit to Brigantine. We were recognized for our anniversary. The service was excellent, and the waitress (Jessica) was outstanding.
A Wednesday 1/2 price wine special was a very pleasant surprise. The food was tasty and well prepared.
The appetizer spinach salad was lite and tasty. The swordfish was as advertised, and the pasta dish was also very good.
We had an excellent dinner, with efficient, friendly service from Server, Izzy, and Manager, Dan. The cuisine demonstrates an artful blending of classic good flavors and creative innovations. The ambiance is energetic, but not too noisy for conversation. Highly recommend!
The Brigantine is always a good choice when visiting Coronado Island. However, I recently visited and made reservations through Opendoor and selected this was a “special occasion” visit for our anniversary. The restaurant made no effort to even mention our anniversary. I was disappointed that in the lack of interest.
The menu had changed; however, the waitress had the chef prepare the bacon wrapped filet without the crab cakes as offered in the past. (I'm allergic to seafood.) The steak was cooked to perfection. The meal was wonderful. I don't care for the table for two as it's a bit cramped with our packages and purses, but we made the best of it and I understand why were placed there. (As there was only two of us.) It's a bit more noisy now that they have renovated to a large open area. Overall, my sister and I really enjoyed the food and will return if we return to the area.
Ate at Brigantine twice while staying at the Del Coronado for a conference. Both meals were excellent. My dinner companions also gave the food and service high marks. All had seafood, I had the the very good Halibut special. Clam chowder was good, although not much better than average. Brigantine is well worth a visit if on Coronado.
Reliable is not a boring thing; it's a good thing -- and The Brig is reliable. Our server was enthusiastic & likes her job. The Brigantine Fish Tacos are done in an almost tempura-like batter, and their coleslaw is not smothered in mayonnaise. Opt for the house-made chips; they are outstanding. The spinach salad with chicken breast is light & flavorful. Outdoors, you have a view of the Hotel Del Coronado. Inside, there's a friendly bar. This place is a treat.
Sunday at 4:30 pm, Fernando took care of us, brilliant and quick. Wonderful food (oysters & mussels so yummy), even my elderly Dad was chowing down. Steaks delicious, salads tasty, chairs comfy. We went after a matinee at a local theater. They even kindly turned down the music (speaker) above our table in the Crown room, so my Dad's hearing aids weren't buzzing. We ranged in age from 16 to 93 and we all had a good time. Thanks, we'll be back!
The restaurant forgot to bring the appetizers we had ordered, so they brought them after we had received our entrees. But, they stepped up and didn't charge us for the appetizers, so it's actually good to see a restaurant make things right without being asked. It makes for good reviews and customers who will come back again, which we will!
