Bridges has a stunning location, overlooking the fishing boats in False Creek and the mountains of the North Shore. The 2nd floor dining room features a vaulted ceiling highlighting the original beams and trusses of this 1920's building, with floor to ceiling windows capturing every part of the view. In a casually elegant atmosphere, the chef presents a menu featuring fresh seafood, rich meats and local produce. During the summer, the dining room's outdoor terrace offers a unique opportunity for white-linen service on the waterfront.

Free surface parking is available on the streets of Granville Island, right at the restaurant's front door.
Public Transit Bus # 50 connects to the entrance on the island. Another option is via the Granville Island Ferries which crosses a short stretch of water and drops passengers who have chosen to walk from the city centre twenty yards from the restaurant entrance.

The dining room comfortably seats 150 for a plated meal, or 250 for a cocktail reception. Bigger thoughts, include the main floor rooms for a full-on party of 750!

We had a lovely dinner here and my appetizer was so delicious (scallops). Small serving size however the flavors were well done and it was very very good. The rest of our meal was delicious as well and service from Kelly was excellent!! They have great views of the marina and it was nice and quiet so we could enjoy our conversation!!
Bridges is my favourite destination not only do my husband and I celebrate every anniversary, valentines and dating anniversaries there but we also got married at Bridges in 2015. It holds a special place in my heart and one of the greatest compliments is when guests still talk about our wedding food, service and location. It made such an impression that one of our guests had had their company Christmas party there for the last three years!! Thank you for being our special spot. We look forward to the MANY years of Bridges!
Excellent service, excellent food, excellent ambiance! I was recommended going to Bridges after a friend said it was good and I was not disappointed. Everything dish we had was incredible. I would go again for their brussel sprouts alone! Our server was very engaging and made the dining experience even more enjoyable. The cherry on top was the fact that we were welcomed as we entered the restaurant at every floor and also acknowledged as we left. It really made me feel like a valued customer.
Food was very good. Did the done out menu. Our server was great. Very friendly and efficient. A little surprised that I had mentioned it was for my daughter's bday but restaurant didn't do anything different. Other restaurants usually decorate the dessert plate or do candle or something special. Nevertheless, other than this, loved the server. Setting is beautiful. Had an amazing table by the window.
The appetizers were delicious, especially the butternut squash soup. I got the cod and lentil main dish and it was really awful. The fish was rubbery. The cheesecake dessert was also delicious. The waiter was very friendly, but they took away our main dishes before asking if we were done, did not ask how our meal was and when we went to get our coats no one was there so we went into the coat check closet on our own.
Excellent in every sense. But especially the food. The Dineout prix fixe menu offered was very varied, the dishes beautifully prepared. This is what most of the other restaurants offering fine dining ought to be presenting during Dineout instead of the run-of-the-mill simple and basic 3-course menus that they do. And we have to give special mention - and praise - to David Solomon.
Excellent location. Nice venue. This was our first visit. We were first seated at a very chilly table. We were there for not even two minutes. One of the men from our group asked if we could be moved as it was extremely uncomfortable. The hostess acknowledged that this table got a draft every time the door opened downstairs. There were quite a few empty tables so i found it quite disrespectful that we were sat there in the first place. Other tables in the restaraunt remained unoccupied the entire evening so it was not an issue with overbooked. We were moved immed after we asked so that was good.
Our waitress came and took orders for drinks and appies. Aftet about 15 min, another lady came by with our appies and we asked about our drinks as customers who arrived after us already had their drinks. She immed went and got them. We noticed our waitress spending a lot of time with one table, laughing, joking and taking pictures. We really only saw our waitress less than a handful of times. I think it was the floor manager who served us and made up for our servers lack of attention.
The food was tastey and we will come back but frankly it is because of the floor manager who worked so hard to cover our servers butt.
Have been there many times but the quality of food has definitely changed. $24 for a 9 ounce glass of BC wine when the cost of the bottle in the BCLIQUOR store is $18 is outrageous. Lovely location and used to be great food, but will not be rushing back that’s for sure.
We visit Vancouver frequently from Toronto to see family. It has become a custom for our last dinner before departure back home to be at Bridges. Wonderful ambience, terrific staff, and excellent cuisine. The lamb shank is the best I have ever had in many years of going to many excellent restaurants. Bravo.
I hadn't read the online reviews for Bridges before going to dinner there, but I have to say I'm surprised at how many negative reviews there are. We had a dinner reservation in the upstairs restaurant on a Saturday night for 8pm. We got there about 30 minutes early expecting to wait, but they got us in after about a 15 minute wait. The restaurant has a very romantic and upscale feel, we were seated at a table facing the water and enjoyed beautiful views of the water and the city at night. The wine selection was fantastic and the wait staff was very knowledgeable and well-trained. We did not have to wait long for our appetizer (oysters on the half shell), waters, and bottle of wine. Bread was served right after ordering (delicious!). I had the West Coast Bouillabaisse, it was fantastic, and my boyfriend had the poached lobster, and we ordered mashed potatoes as a side to share. Both meals were on the smaller side, but delicious, and we ordered creme brulee for dessert. Yes, it was an expensive meal, but you don't go to an upscale restaurant and expect to pay less than we did (a little under $200). For an appetizer, 2 entrees, a side to share, dessert, and bottle of wine, and tip I do not thank that's unreasonable. We looked at the menu and prices online beforehand and knew it would be a pricier than normal meal, but it was definitely worth it for excellent food and service. I would go back and would recommend Bridges to anyone! Also, when we waited before our reservation they seated us in the pub area (near the bar and fireplace past the bistro downstairs), brought us waters and drink menus. It was very cozy and the hostess came to get us when our reservation was ready.
Beautiful location inside out. The view is phenomenal! If you go right before sunset, you can catch the glistening waves of the sun in the water. The food was delicious and came out in a timely manner. We ordered the truffle fries and they were to die for! They have the best truffle fries in Vancouver! Throughout our meal, our server touched based with us a few times to make sure we were doing okay and constantly refilled our glasses. The food was delicious and we were extremely satisfied at the end of the night.
We found the staff pleasant and attentive and the tables nicely spaced throughout the attractive room. The view is spectacular and the location is in the lively area of Granville Island. The food prices struck me as being on the high side.....I prefer to have side vegetables included in the price of the entree. When they are ordered " for the table" (of two) they are unnecessarily large in size and therefore cost over $20 extra. When given the option for a tip they offer a blank dollar amount or a choice of 10% or 20%. One shouldn't have to type in 18% which is the amount I usually leave. I was tempted in annoyance to press 10% but didn't think this would be fair to our waitress. These two negatives unfortunately left an aftertaste.
Our server was great, attentive but knew when to just back off and let us entertain ourselves. The menu was limited and a little disappointing for being fairly pricey. I don't mind paying premium for a meal but I expect a premium meal. The food was cooked properly but the flavors, especially on the steaks was nothing to rave about. The sauces were overpowering and left no room for the natural flavor of the actual beef. The members of our group that had the Halibut and Salmon were quite happy.
Had a group of 9 people there for business dinner. It was on a Monday evening that was relatively slow. At our 6pm seating, very few others were there.
By the time we left, it was about half full.
Waiters and all staff were very attentive.
Our food arrived in a timely manner, quickly served so that we could begin once the last persons food was brought.
All meals looked great, and everyone seemed to enjoy theirs.
I had the halibut and it was delicious.
The side portions are decent sizes. Suggest you get one for every two people though.
We did not have a sunset to enjoy due to the overcast weather, but otherwise view is good in this Granville Island hot spot.
Restaurant does not look like much from the outside, but the interior is very updated and comfortable.
My wife and I went to dinner at Bridges last Sunday (upstairs) for a 6:30pm reservation. We had wanted to go a month earlier to celebrate an anniversary, but other plans and weather got in the way. It was a bit breezy when we got there, so we requested, and were seated inside at one of the windows overlooking the water. Lovely! The restaurant was not very busy, so the wait staff were very attentive and helpful with our choice of both food and wine. We ended up ordering the lobster (a bit pricey, but well worth it!). Everything was delicious! I recommend Bridges highly.
My Mother came to town on a quick visit she is 91 and we shared the mussels wonderful starter. Then we ordered the spring salad with the apricots, not great and then the prawns super choice. My Mon got a little cold and they brought her a blanket, best staff ever really nice and caring.
All my problems wth this reservation involve OpenTable's system which would not
accept changes to the original reservation (for 6) both the day before and the day of
the reservation. Corrections could only be made by phoning the restaurant directly.
Who needs OpenTable !
I WAS DISAPPOINTED WITH THE SERVICE AS WELL AS THE MIX UP OF SEATING MY FRIEND AND I. I MADE A RESERVATION AND WAS SEATED DOWNSTAIRS, WAITING FOR A GIRLFRIEND FROM ENGLAND. SHE WAS SEATED UPSTAIRS AND WE WASTED 25 MINUTES BEING IN THE SAME RESTAURANT SEATED IN DIFFERENT AREAS. NO COMPENSATION OTHER THAN AN APOLOGY. ON TOP OF THAT, THE WAIT STAFF KEPT COMING TO CLEAR OUR PLATES BEFORE WE WERE FINISHED EATING. SOMEONE CAME AT LEAST FOUR TIMES TO TAKE AWAY OUR PLATES, INTERRUPTING OUR CONVERSATION, AND NEEDED TO BE SENT AWAY. THEN, WHEN WE DID NEED OUR WAITER, WE COULD NOT FIND HIM, ASKED A MANAGER, SHE DIDNT' GIVE HIM THE MESSAGE AND HE SAILED RIGHT PAST OUR TABLE TO SERVE OTHERS. POOR, POOR SERVICE.
Good food, especially the entrees. I absolutely love the lobster even tho it costs $50. The pork tenderloin's also awesome. However the desert sucks. We ordered turtle pie and it turned out to be an ice cream pie. Chocolate gelato was in fact not bad but the dolce gelato...a disaster.
Went to Bridges for my son's graduation dinner. We were seated and there seemed to be a lot of confusion as to whose section we were in so we waited a good 15 minutes before anyone came to the table...this was the beginning...
I ordered an appetizer only to find out that the table next to us who had been seated AFTER us but I guess in a less confusing area had ordered the last one. No other recommendations were made. So we were told not to order an appetizer...
My fish was served raw. It was not sushi. It was the halibut.
We ended up eating at separate times. I watched my son eat and then he watched me eat. So we ordered some veggies so we could eat those together at the same time.
No one apologized for anything. The bill came and they didn't even have the decency to take a single item off the bill. I asked to speak to the manager.
This is the last time that I go to Bridges. Which is too bad because I have been a good client for at least 10 years. Never again.
