Wonderful service. Food was excellent. We had a great time.
Great little bistro in a quiet location. Cozy bar downstairs; candlelite dining upstairs. Seafood chowder is excellent. Dishes are inventive, great use of herbs/seasonings, and reasonably priced.
We have dined her a few times and each time, our table has been ready when we arrived. The dining room upstairs is not very big but the tables are well separated from each other and the windows give a nice view on the comings and goings on in Portsmouth. While just on the outside of the downtown, it's only one block from the newer hotels. I find the food to be very good. It's rich and creamy and I tend to clean my plate. My companions did find some minor issues with the decor, saying it was a bit dated but to me, it was fine. We had a wonderful bottle of wine our party of three a few glasses each.
There is a wine bar downstairs and upstairs is the lovely dining area. I loved the lighting and decor. The waitstaff were wonderful, knowledgable, and friendly. The service was quick and the food fresh and delicious. The preparations we each found to be unique and all of us were quite pleased with our dishes. We would strongly recommend Bridge Street Bistro and Wine Bar.
A lovely little restaurant a short walk away from the Music Hall. We had dinner prior to a show. The food is French and very well-prepared. I had the fish of the day cooked in the Provencal style for $22. It came with a wedge of shredded potatoes that was delicious and some root vegetables, which were very good. I had a green salad to start. My husband started with the seafood chowder that had plenty of delicious seafood in it. He ordered the salmon Epernay, which was well-cooked and served with rice. The waitstaff was very attentive and we had a great evening and will be back.
Great food, good service, cute atmosphere and very good value for the type and quality of the food
Had a nice evening with friends visiting the area. Lovely ambiance and creative menu. We all enjoyed our choices.
A great meal with excellent service, as usual!
I wanted to love this restaurant, but the food wasn't delicious and it should have been. With that said, this is a good restaurant for a date night where you and your date can enjoy a fun conversation. The wine list is vast, the service is top-notch, and the ambience is calm.
We were seated promptly and courteously. The server explained the menu and was able to answer all our questions. Staff was attentive but not overbearing. The food was amazing! A perfect evening for a celebration.
Excellent all around! Nice local place.
We had a lovely dinner for my birthday at Bridge Street Bistro. The service was excellent, timely, friendly, attention to detail. The meal was also very good, taste and excellent size.
We will definitely be back.
I brought my husband for a Valentine celebration dinner. The service was excellent, and my baked Brie was wonderful. My husband had the charcuterie and he said it was okay. I then was excited to have the Coquilles St. Jacques, until it arrived. The scallops did not have the muscle removed on either one and the shrimp were a little overdone. It and my husband’s Cassoulet were just okay. He said the meat in his dish were good, but the rest of it was just okay. The desserts were excellent! Overall the meal was fair, and when people are paying a lot for a special meal out, it should be better than just okay.
Great food and nice people. Very comfortable location.
My sisters, parents and I had a rare and wonderful dinner together! The food is divine, and can't wait to go back again. The only reason for the moderate noise level comment is that there was a table of fourteen sharing the space, so it did get a little loud during our conversations, but not unmanageable. This restaurant is a New Favorite!
Excellent all around!
Had a wonderful experience. Food, ambiance and service was excellent. We can't wait to return again for another great time.
Absolutely wonderful experince for myself and my wife. When the waitress (also the owner I think) heard it was our anniversary, she surprised us with some champagne. Food was amazing, service was excellent, and a great, romantic and charming atmosphere.
Lovely restaurant. Food and service does not disappoint. Quiet enough to have an actual conversations. Reservations are necessary as it's quite small.
We cannot recommend The Bridge Street Bistrot enough. The staff are amazing and they are only outdone, if at all, by the food. The chef, from France, is fantastic and his care for the patrons shows in the magnificent food he serves.
Bridge Street Bistrot never disappoints. Excellent meal
We arrived on time but the rest of the party was late but they were kind enough to seat us regardless. Appetizers we're good and the main courses were excellent. We had such a nice time, we ended up being the last party in the place
If you find yourself in Portsmouth, NH, do yourself a favor and check this place out. It has a charming, cozy atmosphereand a friendly, informed waitstaff. Make a reseration so as not to be turned away.
Prices are super reasonableand the food is consistently delicious. They have a decent wine list and truly yummy desserts.
We were just there Saturday night and are already looking forward to our next visit.
We are frequent diners at the Bridge Street Bistrot. The food, ambiance and service are always exquisite. There is also a very inventive wine list. Bridge Street Bistrot is great for a night out, a special occasion or a gathering with friends. It is one of our favorite places in Portsmouth!
The Bistrot provided a good place to have dinner with friends.
Our 4th time there. Love it! Brought another couple and they enjoyed everything about it. Can’t beat their great food!
We had a late addition to our party and we were quickly accommodated. The food was absolutely delicious, the cocktails perfect and the wine selection superb! As always, this fit for foodies, neighborhood gem pleased all of our diners and the ambiance was perfect for a cold winter evening celebration seated near the cozy wood stove. The service was excellent, our every need anticipated but never rushed. This is our favorite spot in Portsmouth and with all the other fantastic options, that is quite an achievement!!
Love this restaurant. Food & drink absolutely delicious. Service was superb.
Can't wait to be in Portsmouth again so we can eat here again.
This was our 3rd time in a few months. We always love it! Great food and ambiance!
The food was good but not particularly note-worth: Three dishes with a sauce all lacked the depth of flavor that French cuisine is known for ... good but not great. The atmosphere was cozy and warm on blustery snowy evening. Good wine selection.
Another excellent meal at the Bridge Street Bistro. My wife and I took my brother and his son who flew from California to attend a family birthday.
Excellent Experience... despite one table that 2 were talking very loud... Service food and atmosphere was perfect for a chilly Friday dinner
Duck Duo was excellent wished a bit more offerings for dessert but still very tasty
Enjoyed dinner prior to a show wit 3 others. We all felt that it was an excellent dining experience! All entrees were delicious and completely consumed. We will be back!
Charming little restaurant with bay windows and cozy nooks. Solid and reasonably priced French cuisine prepared with partially local ingredients. Attentive and friendly waiters were rounding out a very pleasant evening at the bistro.
We dined here with another couple. Enjoyed delicious food and wine. The menu was varied enough to order a “lighter” meal, which I prefer. We also appreciated the quietness of the dining room. The dinner coupon is another perk.
Delightful French bistro with meals as good as the bistros in Boston but $25-$30 less, per person.
Our second time. Everything was wonderful! Best restaurant in Portsmouth.
Fabulous food. Service was spot on. We started with the charcuterie board (very good). Entrée the meat trio (cooked to perfection). We had a nice bottle of French red wine (suggestion of server) very good.
Fantastic. With appropriate attentive Service and Food. From appetizer to entree to deserts , all home made. A special anniversary dinner made even more special at Bridge Street Bistro. Thank you !
It was a great place to meet up with friends The baked brie was amazing, great wine selection and the dinner was cooked to perfection!
