Bridge House Tavern - Permanently Closed Ratings and Reviews
We spent a very rainy evening at the very cozy Bridge House Tavern. We quickly became a part of the restaurant's culture, due to the very friendly and engaging host staff, bartender (Patrick!) and our lovely server. The tater tots appetizer was to die for and our meals were all extremely generous portions and absolutely delicious. Despite the fact that we were drawn to the restaurant because of its inviting outside seating, we greatly enjoyed the warmth and friendliness of the inside area. Can't wait to return!!
went here for lunch during the workday with my sister - didn't sit on the patio however still had a nice view of the water. ordered avocado rolls, shrimp BLT (comes with cool bacon milkshake), and the shrimp tacos. everything was amazing! big portions too. tater tots and side salad were our included sides. had a lot leftover!
My boyfriend and I went here for a date night. I had never dined on the river before so I asked if we could sit outside. They were more than accommodating and seated us right away. Our server was very attentive and super friendly. The food was outstanding! I got the shrimp tacos and was not disappointed! The tater tots and fries were also very crispy and delicious. They also had a great beer and drink menu! Definitely would recommend!
We went there for an after work dinner with our boss from out of state and everyone enjoyed their meal and felt it was a very good deal. I was skeptical of the bacon jalapeño popcorn but it really was awesome, all the food was just great, as was the beverage selection.
We dined at Bridge House Tavern upon my Grand Aunt's request, who was in town visiting. Dining there was fabulous all the way around from the scenic location, the friendly and fast service, to the scrumptious appetizers and tasty main dishes. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience!
Visiting from Toronto we arrived for lunch and sat at a perfect table by the water. The food was delicious! We started with Tavern TOTS & Avocado Bruschetta. The Steak Sandwich was tender and delicious. My guests enjoyed their meals too. It was a great start to our visit to Chicago.
Highly recommend this restaurant!
Love BHT, but there are a lot of rules. 1 being your reservation ONLY guarantees an INSIDE reservation. 2 being while you wait for your outside table at the bar you CANNOT order an appetizer because it forfeits your outside table reservation. Food is great and you can't beat the river views on a beautiful summer evening.
We had a reservation at 11 am. At 11 they came to us and said the kitchen wasn't going to be open until 11:15.
My fiancé had to run after him to ask if we could at least sit down at our table in the mean time. The host had to go ask a supervisor. Who, eventually, said yes. It was a little weird of a start to a dining experience we had reservations for but overall it was good.
The food is SUPER good and prices are slightly below normal for most river side dining.
Would definitely go again
We ordered fries for the table - and they came out with four different sauces, all that we absolutely loved! We did wish that when the fries were delivered to the table, the gentleman who set them down told us what was what right away rather than us having to guess and then ask later on. We all loved our cocktails - very yummy! We ordered all different types of foods - southwest salad, the bratwurst, and the tacos - all very delicious! I almost could not finish my meal - certainly did not have space for dessert! The food and cocktails did take a little longer than we expected to come out, unfortunately.
Also, we had a reservation, though I hadn't specified that we wanted to sit outside prior to getting to the restaurant. So, we had the option of waiting (6th in line) to sit outside or be seated right away inside. I wish this was an option during the reservation portion! Sitting inside wasn't too bad, but we were excited about eating on the river - which we didn't get to see the river since we were on the far side of the restaurant.
Great location and awesome view! Biggest downside was that making a reservation didn't guarantee outdoor seating on the river. We arrived 5 minutes early for our 8 PM reservation for a party of 2, but had to wait an additional 40 minutes for an outdoor table. Ultimately, we weren't taken to a table until about 8:35.
