Food is good! Menu is however a little limited. Wine list is poor only two per glass red or white options. None of which are good. So had a cocktail instead! Staff was very friendly and food came in good time. Interior could use a facelift, looking a little tired.
It’s a wonderful restaurant in a beautiful location
Don’t be put off by the uninteresting street appeal of this place. Once you get through the doors the ambiance and character take a step up. The service is friendly, helpful and efficient. The food (we both ordered the ribeye special) was well prepared, very tasty and reasonably priced. The bar offers a range of local brews on tap a a modest wine list but we found a bottle that paired nicely with the meal. We will definitely go back.
It was an unexpected pleasure of different tastes and variety of food. One girl took care of most of the restaurant effortlessly.
Had a great meal with the family. Great atmosphere and nice to have a kids menu. Was busy so people like the place, would definitely go back.
I realize it's Fernie but this place just tries too hard. The restaurant is nice inside but the menu should be simpler. I had roast chicken and it was tough and dried out.
I had the trout w/ risotto . Trout was lovely, risotto too creamy - otherwise it was fine dining.
Ambience was pleasant. service was excellent, although food was slow to arrive and terribly disappointing when it finally came...Food was obviously from frozen packages, fish was still cold in the middle. Pasta was grey in color, chicken greasy: will never be back.
The restaurant was very busy (New Year’s Eve) but they were obvious adequately staffed, as there were no delays with the service or the kitchen getting our meal to us.
All the staff were super friendly.
The food was very nicely cooked and presented.
We had a wonderful dinner! Both the food and service were great. Will be back.
Delicious, upscale food, wasn't expecting this in a small place like Fernie. Would definitely eat here again. The burger was to die for.
Food was good and the service was friendly but a bit slow. We ordered their combo ribs and chicken entree and said the two of us would share it. It arrived one a plate with no second plate nor a knife to cut the chicken apart easily. It was tasty enough but making it easier to share would have been appreciated. Lots of family groups dining there and having a good time. We seemed to be the onlyseniors in the place
Tried to eat here last but was closed for a special occasion, so this year had to try again. Was well worth it. Seated immediately, attentive staff and good food. Enjoyed ourselves but ate way too much.
We had the clam chowder and gyro special. Our meals were great. Value for what we paid. The restaurant was very inviting and the staff had no problems accommodating our change requests on the meal.
We've been to this restaurant three times, years apart, on trips to Fernie. The first visit approximately 5 years ago was fantastic. The visit 2 years ago, and just last week were not great.
The location next to the river is wonderful and I am sure the patio outside would be great in the summer. The decor inside is very nice and the service is always excellent - very friendly and knowledgeable. Unfortunately the food is not that great - with the exception of the escargot - which were fantastic.
I ordered the Asian noodle bowl. It was vermicelli rice noodles topped with an odd assortment of vegetables (mostly corn and peppers) and seared tuna. But the tuna was seared in an incredibly overpowering rub of something that tasted like Cajun blackening spices, and then topped with pickled ginger. Very strange.
My husband had the Lamb Shoulder which was over cooked and smothered in the strange yogurt sauce. It looked like they were going for something that was Indian inspired - but the potatoes on the side looked and tasted more like breakfast potatoes and were incongruous with the rest of the dish. Again, very strange.
They are very heavy handed with their cooking and flavours, and appear to be trying to hard to be hip or trendy.
We love to support local businesses and try new foods both at home and when we travel. We really want this restaurant to succeed and are not trying to be mean spirited. We hope they take this as constructive feedback. But unless they fix the menu I would stay with simpler fare such as the fish and chips or the burger.
They didn't have reservation because they said they don't deal with open table .
Found out table to be very close to table next to us, could hold hands
This was the perfect spot for 3 people who weren’t sure if we were having late breakfast or early lunch at 11 AM. Also one person was vegetarian. Our food was hot, well seasoned, well presented and just the right portion size. Waitress was attentive and very polite. A perfect finish for a 2 day weekend family getaway.
Excellent food and wind in small bistro setting. Bernie is beautiful. Make this your dining spot!
We had a nice meal with good food. The waitress was very helpful but the food did take quite a long time to arrive. It seemed they had a large crowd just ahead of us unfortunately.
We stumbled across this place not far from our hotel on an overnighter through Fernie. It was amazing. Both our meals were fantastic. The Tuna Poke Bowl I had was phenomenal. The wait staff were knowledgeable and friendly. Will return for sure if we're ever in the neighborhood again. The patio area was lovely for a nice evening out.
Really good value local bar/restaurant. Great fun atmosphere with seating out on riverside terrace. Unpretentious. Great service.
Food and service was perfect we really enjoyed everything about our visit
Four of us went for brunch on a Saturday. I made a reservation on Open Table. When we got there, the waitress said she didn't have a reservation for us. This was NOT good. Luckily, it was quite early in the morning, and there were plenty of tables free. What happened? Did the reservation platform not work? Was the waitress not trained to check for reservations on the Open Table platform? Or did she just not check for reservations before her shift? Whatever it was, I was NOT impressed. If the restaurant had been busy, we would have been out of luck. On the other hand, the food and atmosphere were very good. Three people had the eggs benny, and they were all good. I had the build-your-own breakfast, also very good. I liked that the sauteed mushrooms were very flavourful.
A nice little restaurant with good service and good food.
After a hard day of skiing on Christmas Day, The Bridge Bistro is always so warm, welcoming, and working hard to ensure that our family's Christmas Day dinner is special. Thank you to you all who make that possible. Happy 2017!
I really did like the selection. To see elk, wild boar and mussels on the menu was quite amazing. However the quality didn't keep up with the promising menu. The quality of the mussels was very good but the sauce had a very different taste and spices that you wouldn't expect with mussels. So all 3 people who tried them didn't like the taste at all. The medium steak ordered by one party was overcooked. The elk dish was not very warm and all served in a pile (meat, red cabbage and heavy gravy). One person ordered roasted vegetables and was very satisfied. But given that we spent more than $200 for 4 people, the quality was quite poor.
The only negative was that it was 20 minutes before a hostess even came to all us customers waiting for a table. Many customers were getting agitated. I understand that they were overwhelmed because all the other restaurants in town were closed and they were short staffed. However, someone should have come sooner to explain this. There must have been 20 people waiting. We sat on outside patio and it was freezing - everyone was freezing and someone asked why the heaters were not on - I am not sure what the answer was. It was just a series of unfortunate events, however, I would go back again. It was just one bad day for them.
Food is just OK. Only go for the view of the river. Brisket potato skins were good.
wonderful food, great service, great view and good value....would recommend!
Wonderful meal with excellent flavours. Wait staff could use a little more training but were pleasant in nature.
The elk stew was quite good. The duck was not tender and had an OK sauce: it didn't have risotto as promised. Other diners' meals looked tempting. The waiter was very pleasant and even brought tastings of the wines. We would like to return to try more.
We shared the beef brisket potatoe skins and they were fabulous! A must have.
The kids pasta was extremely heavy on garlic, very good sized portion.
The rack of lamb was good but too undercooked for me. I asked for it medium as I am pregnant and it came blue.
Excellent ribs and chicken!
Very disappointed with desert especially for $7.
We would def go back.
Great for kids and adults.
