Everything was perfect. Very recommended!
I can't possibly say enough good things about the Brick Farm Tavern. From the staff, to the ambiance, to the building inside and out, to the food and the drinks....everything was 100%. I went there for lunch on a Sunday with a friend and we had the Empanadas as an appetizer which were amazing. Then we shared the Rigatoni Bolognese and a Cuban Sandwich. While it was the first time I had a Cuban Sandwich, it was incredible! All of the food was delicious and they have a lot of NJ Craft beers on draft and a unique selection of cocktails. Can't wait to go back for dinner.
Brick Farm Tavern is one of my favorite restaurants. The food is divine. The cocktails and beer options are fantastic. Brick Farm has its own brewery and distillery on site. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable.
I had been wanting to try Brick Farm Tavern for a long time, and I'm so glad I did!! I had the beef brisket sandwich and a sour beer from the brewery on location. It was a wonderful meal in a great setting, I highly recommend this place for a weekend lunch!!
Loved our meal and drinks. Everything was outstanding and we can’t wait to go back to try more.
the food is great and very consistent. have been three times with outstanding food each time.
We've had good meals at BT before, but this special occasion dinner was very disappointing. Our appetizers arrived in a timely fashion, but the entrees took forever--over an hour--to be served even though the restaurant was not as busy as we have seen it on other occasions. Two of the four entrees were too salty, and the $52 ribeye steak was too rare (instead of the promised medium rare), chewy, and tough. Also, after the steak's jus was poured, it dribbled over the lipless edge of the "cool" plate, making a mess. Repeated requests to clean the table were not honored. Our server was earnest but seemed green, and did not seem to take seriously our concerns about one guest's severe allergies. The maitre d' did try to smooth things over and sent a small plate of cheesecake triangles at the end; but by that time we were tired, a bit cross, and not feeling inclined to return.
Only our second time here, defiantly one of our favorite places to eat. We travel over an hour to get there.
Very acommodating to special dietary needs. A little heavy handed on salt .
This was our second time at the Brick Farm Tavern. Both visits the food was delicious! Vibrant and creative local produce and meats as well as local spirits in original cocktails. It may be out in the middle of farm lands, but the Tavern is steep competition for any fine dining establishment in neighboring Princeton. Can’t wait to go back again.
Great food great service. Chelsea was excellent. We appreciated the attention to detail and the creative seasonal cuisine.
The farmhouse is beautiful. Seating is limited with small dining areas spread out on two floors. We ate downstairs in the wine cellar area. Nice ambiance. The menu is limited. But our mains were delicious. A lamb stew with mushrooms and a pork chop. The mixed drink menu was interesting. I got a ‘bees and flowers’ gin drink with lavendar foam that was divine. We didn’t love our appertzers - the baked egg was weird and the beets were not st all sweet. But, neither took away from a very enjoyable evening. Service was very attentive as well. We’ll happily return!
Delicious! All the meats tasted so flavorful and delicious. Obsessed with the Sheppard's pie!
Have always loved your tavern. We were the first two patrons to have dinner in your restaurant and the bar area is our favorite place to be.
Joan and Joe Needham
Our experience was very confusing. We arrived for our 5PM reservation and were told that the dining room was "unavailable", but they could seat us in the "tavern". We never saw the dining room, and the table we were given in the "tavern" was fine. The manager came over and gave us a round of drinks on the house, which I felt was great, (at the time).
When we ordered our meal, we saw the start of a problem with the waiter. When we asked questions about the menu, he didn't seem to have the answers, but he never offered to check on anything. My wife and I each ordered a glass of wine with our main course. The main course was delivered and we asked the runner about the wine and he said he would find the waiter. The waiter came over later and said he would check on the wine. We were half done with the main course when the wine arrived.
We ordered coffee and desert after dinner and the desert was delivered first, with the coffees coming out one at a time in four separate deliveries.
So, I don't know why we didn't get our reserved seat in the dining room. I don't know why the service was so bad. It is unfortunate. because the food is very good and the ambiance is very nice.
Service excellent. When our food order was going to be late the owner came to the table and explained why and offer the table a complementary cheese platter. The select of cheeses was very good. When the our food arrived it was everything we had expected, excellent. The owner came by to make sure we were satisfied.
Always fabulous! Great care in crafting an amazing menu with local ingredients. Drink menu is just as delightful as the food menu. Entire staff is wonderfully attentive and delivers the perfect experience for any occasion. LOVE Brick Farm Tavern!
Food and service was fantastic. What a great place!!
Very creative ingredients, all locally farmed. The whole area screams fall! Menu changes frequently. There are a few lovely dining rooms and also a tavern area for a more casual atmosphere. We enjoyed the evening and look forward to going back.
Excellent food and service!
Hi We were having a good time enjoying the restuarant, fine wine, appetizers and then our meal.
Unfortunately after a few bites of our food my wife started to choke!!!!! She could not breath or dislodge the food particle. I tried to give her the heimlich and it was not working We are fortunate enough to have another dinner guest from a different table came over to help and my wife finally swallowed the food particle. During this time I was yelling for help Help my wife is choking Please help everyone around was in shock and could not move or did not want to. Although after the incident the owner and staff can over to see if everything was safe, He paid for our meal and was pleasant. After a few hours and settling down I come to think about a solution I believe that for every shift, there should be at least 1 Person who is Trained in CPR and the heimlich manoeuvr. I can tell you I was frightened and Helpless I was sickened by not being able to help save my wife and God forbid she was to be ill or even died.
She is now suffering from cracked ribs and is in a tremendous amount of pain but alive and I'm Thankful for it. We will come back again to hopefully enjoy. I hope you feel the same about having your staff trained I believe that it may say someone's life..... Thank you. Paul Baker
Great Food and Great Atmosphere. Enjoyed a drink after dinner at the bar watching the bartenders make their magic happen...
Went to the brick farm tavern with our couple dining group. My wine was bad. They sent another glass- which was also bad and soured. The waitress offered an attitude and told me this was impossible. So I ordered a completely different wine. While the wine was average at best, the sommelier came over told me indeed the first two bottles were bad and took my third wine away and gave me another glass of the bad wine. This was such bad service to take away a half drunk wine. I left with a full glass of bad wine in the table.
Food- 4 people ordered the same beet appetizer- but the portion sizes were all drastically different as was the look of the dish. Very inconsistent. 4 people of our 8 also ordered the 54 dollar ribeye. When the staff came to place dinner on the table or if our friends asked if her ribeye was medium and the waiter said I don’t know. Your table ordered 4 ribeyes and your getting 4 ribeyes. The game of cutting into the meat and passing them around to give who ordered what was just wrong of a restaurant of this supposed caliber.
Finally when finishing a meal and leaving (we didn’t bother with coffee or dessert!) we were treated to dirty bathrooms with no toilet paper.
A definite one and done with this dinner group.
Surprisingly busy and energetic. Service was a little slow. Still a wonderful meal: creative, and flavorful. They know how to cook pork! We will be back for another date.
I had a very nice meal there, great sushi appetizer (wish there was more). Excellent tavern grass fed braised beef main. Great business meal with plenty of space between tables.
Small portions. Corn soup very good. Beet salad was tasty but tiny. My 54 dollar rib eye was half fat and grizzle and it came with no seasoning and tasted blah. Vegetables were good but small portion. The final icing on the cake for me was just that. I had the chocolate flourless cake for desert which was good for a brownie but the scoop of ice cream which came with it was the size of a melon ball. Also my specialty cocktail was served in what could haves doubled as a water glass and was loaded with ice which diluted the flavor. My partner had the pasta which she said she liked. Overpriced for what I got. Service was fair no cheese presentation with pasta and no offer of pepper for steak which is commonly offered in finer restaurants
Went for the first time on a Friday. It was honestly one of the best dining experiences I've ever had! We felt like we were the only couple dining because the service was impeccable. I would absolutely go back again and I highly recommend everyone go there!
Everything was beautiful from the moment we walked in.
Went as a double date. Pulling up was beautiful and complimentary valet was a big plus. I hate parking and walking in my heels. The atmosphere is rustic like with the def farm2table feel... lots of wood and brick... which I love. Now I went to treat my friends Bc they like trying new things- which is where the chef tasting menu was key. But I am a zero adventurous eater. So I did not want to do chef tasting. This table split is actually not “permitted”. But I was in such a mood for steak that I nearly begged for an exception. Well, after a compelling (a little loud/embarrassing-ish) warning speech, we were told if 1 person orders chefs tasting then all order ... otherwise you feel left out. I could totally understand that... but I’m such a slow eater that I’m usually left eating while Others are already done. So that was going to ruin my experience... but after some puppy eyes and my husbands decided tone, they kindly obliged. Well that awkward moment was soon behind us as my friends were enamored over every bite they ate. Every new course was delicately laid and well paired with the wines. They did the 7 course meal with the standard wine pairing. By #5, they were stuffed. Probably because they ate too much bread with that delicious butter!!! They loved the wine pairing choices - so very well articulated by Bill. My husband and I don’t really drink but Bill offered us a taste of one of his favored wines in the house of course and ...we obliged. I would have loved to have the tiramisu (and even the burger) but I had my fill with the Ribeye. Which oddly enough, I never eat all my food! And for once, maybe because I actually had the time this time, I was able to finish the whole thing! Oh boy was it delicious. They don’t cook with gas, so it was smoked over hickory smoked wood... and you could surely taste it! It couldn’t have been cooked more perfectly. The au jus was a perfect touch. Little charred on the outside, slightly pink on the inside.
OMG, the food was amazing. We ordered the pork and the bass, then swapped halfway. The star of the meal was the sauces surrounding each dish- a deep, dark, savory gravy on each (well, a Jus for the pork).
The appetizer Pork Bellies were probably the best I've tasted.
The service was cordial, informative, and attentive to every detail.
Can't believe we haven't been here before, but that will change.
Only annoyance was a slight mustiness in the wine cellar dining area, but that soon got overcome as the place filled up with people, and food smells. It was right after a day of heavy rain..
This place raises their own meat on a large farm. The restaurant is in an old federal style house. The menu is eclectic, my appetizer was a poached egg on collard greens, grits, with rich beef gravy. Absolutely delicious congratulations to the chef. My entree was the roast pork again gourmet. Upscale food and setting.
Food was excellent and prices not bad for fine dining. Portions very small but expected. Specialty cocktails were the best! So smooth and delicious!
The ambience is extremely rustic to the extent that some areas do not even look clean.
That aside, four of us ordered dinner and one was happy with their meal. The corn chowder was also good. We ordered several small plates which were mediocre at best. The satisfied member of our party who ordered one full meal was the one who was happy..
Food was very good and service was excellent. My only negatives are that the prices were high for using meats that were from farms locally and the fact they only serve about 8 styles of beer and they are their own or from one company.
Cool place. Great beer/service. A little pricey. Dining area's are throughout the house.
indifferent service, very expensive for small portions
Phenomenal food and amazing service. Across the board this restaurant impressed us in every way.
Really enjoyed our dinner at Brick Farm. The empanada appetizers were very good as well as the duck confit, pork chop and scallop entrees. Entrée vegetable pairings were well matched. Just delicious Flourless chocolate cake was delightful. And the Troon beer was amazing! Only disappointment was the charcuterie and cheese boards. A bit skimpy.
casual yet classy- great food but even better cocktails and beer list.
Great food and service. The Managing Partner Richard M. is phenomenal! Thank you.
