Brick Farm Tavern
Our farm takes a genuine approach to sustainable farming; raising and pasturing our animals including pigs, sheep, chickens, turkeys, ducks and goats on 800 acres in the Hopewell Valley creating a truly authentic farm-to-table dining experience in an 1800s Hopewell farm house.
The bar features local craft beers, artisan cocktails & wine tastings with Troon Brewing and Sourland Mountain Spirits located right on the premises.
We invite you to join us and experience our dining and cocktail menus based upon the very best ingredients this region has to offer.
We have eaten here before and loved it. Unfortunately, tonight the service/timing of meal wasn't up to par. The waiter, while attentive, took forever to come back to our table to fill our water, etc. There were times when he even had the water pitcher in his hand at the table next to us, appeared to look our way, and then went back to doing something else. Same with getting our check. We had an early reservation and were there for 2.5 hours! It was about 1.5 hours before our main course arrived. Appetizers took quite a while too. We enjoyed each other's company, but I would have preferred a bit speedier timing and a bit more attentive service. It's strange because several other tables in our area arrived well after us and were out before us. Just slightly disappointed.
One of my fave restaurants in Jersey. Worth the drive if farm to table creative cuisine is your thing. Also some very accessible items on the menu such as the grass fed burger (one of the best I've had). Discovered Brick Farm by visiting Troon Brewery. Amazing beers produced by them compliment the food.
On this visit we had the pork, steak, burger and some small plates. All fantastic dishes enhanced by great presentation. About a 60 mile drive for my family and I but worth it every time.
We've been here a few times now, and not a single visit has been anything less than wonderful. Service is great, the space is beautiful, and the food and drinks are always fun. We keep meaning to try the dining room part but end up sitting in the tavern each time--definitely more our pace. The burger and roast beef sandwich we ordered were really tasty, but what really stood out were the drinks. I had something with a pear shrub that was perfect for a chilly winter day, and my wife had a whiskey-based cocktail that was delicious.
Loved the building and the food, but the server made the meal. Chris was the perfect low key, but knowledgeable and helpful server
This is our third time coming to Brick Farm Tavern and I look forward to the next time, every time!
We've come as a couple, for business and now with friends and we've loved the food, the setting, and the service each time. Alex was our server and he was personable and attentive. If you haven't tried this wonderful restaurant, take the opportunity to do so, your palate will thank you. Enjoy!
Chris' engaging banter and knowledge made our experience a true pleasure!
Amazing place -would highly recommend to anyone - nice locations and food was great
We came for my sons birthday. He loves all the beer choices. This was our first dinner experience. Food was delicious and menu was unique but familiar as well. We all had a great time. Great experience, food was delicious! Thank you!
This was an excellent dinner with some nice changes/additions to the menu such as the lamb meatballs in a larger plate. I thought this was done very nicely.
Wonderful place A Must go for total expierence. The service each time we have been has been over the top
Best burger I’ve had in a long time but mediocre chicken salad. Will definitely try again
Food was outstanding. Server was mediocre at best. Disinterested and not particularly polite. Will definitely return and request a different server.
Another fantastic meal at Brick Farm Tavern! This time we brought two other couples. We always start with freshly brewed beer from onsite Troon Brewery, along with a locally sourced cheese plate. Great place to slow down and really appreciate the experience and ingredients you're consuming. We'll be back!
The food has really improved under the new chef and team. Of the two dining rooms the second (further from the kitchen) is my favorite. The ambiance in the first room is just a bit off. Can't put my finger on why though.
Upon arriving, I was very optimistic. Charming old farmhouse and great ambiance inside. But then the dining experience began and I was so disappointed. The service was slow and uninformative. The food was tasteless and served luke warm. One and done!
Very friendly and responsive staff from the front desk to the servers and the valets! Surprised with the variety and quality of the food and beverages. Great atmosphere and Chris, our server, was outstanding.
Sorry we waited so long to give it a try. We heard mixed reviews from friends but we give it a big thumbs up and a must try rating!
Everything was fine but I ordered trout and the menu did not state it was 'steel head' trout, which looks and tastes more like salmon. It would have been good if the waitress gave this level of detail when I ordered if it was not to be on the menu.
This is a fantastic place for farm to table food. Excellent knowledgeable staff, killer beers brewed right on premise and cocktails features spirits made on site as well.
New Year’s Eve
We were at the Brick Farm Tavern on NYE 2018. We had delicious cocktails and several beers from their excellent on-tap selection. Our watier, Dan, was stellar--he had a friendly disposition and excellent recommendations! We had three apps, three entrees and two desserts and each was prepared to our liking. Although it was NYE, they were serving a full menu and we had an enjoyable and leisurely meal.
The food was excellent and the Service was top notch.
We really enjoyed our visit and the special attention we received from the staff as well as their warm, cheerful and friendly attitude. I like the waiters functioning as a group to meet our requests. Also we enjoyed the exceptional cuisine and carefully crafted cocktails. I am looking forward to our next visit!
Great historic restaurant enjoyed our lunch/brunch, great service, great food, however mimosas very pricey and very loud that we had to cut short our dining experience as a party of 10 with boisterous children sat very close... that's the only reason for overall 4 stars... added touch as our server explained some historical facts, he was very knowledgeable and interesting!
Flavorful food, excellent service. Absurdly small portion on the charcuterie platter. Embarrassing small. Everything else was wonderful.
A truly wonderful experience all around. We began with a tasting at the distillery and ended with dinner at the tavern. My husband was in love with the pork belly appetizer and the lamb meatballs were magnificent. Great service, atmosphere and fantastic food.
Overpriced and not that great. Limited menu. Skip the fries - dry and burnt ends.
I love the fact that all the ingredients are locally sourced.
After many dinners, I thought I'd try a lunch. It was excellent; the shepherd’s pie—lamb, as it ought to be, was perfect for a winter afternoon.
Had a wonderful holiday dinner here.
My favorite restaurant in the Princeton area. Impeccable service, delicious entrees, feels like we are dining in someone’s home. Perfect Christmas Eve family dinner.
We weren’t impressed by the service. It took our waiter over 10 mins to even say hello once we were seated. He didn’t tell us about any specials and overall had a very negative attitude. Maybe just a bad night for our waiter. Food was definitely tasty.
We hadn’t been here in a while but were very pleased that the menu has opened up more options. The food used to be good but very heavy and all meat-oriented. The current menu has added fish and some pasta options.
Service was amazing from the moment we stepped through the door. Had a great, holiday dinner with the family. Cocktails were inventive and delicious. Also had the empanadas and 64 degree egg as appetizers. Will order both again in a heartbeat if they stay on the menu. It seemed a shame after perusing the menu to only order the burger, but it was no regular burger and fries. Scrumptious. We live in the area and it took us way too long to try this place. Loved it.
Excellent meal with great service. Accommodated gluten free easily. Will be back!

Staff is top notch, very professional without making you feel like you're eating at a stuffy restaurant. Relaxed and friendly atmosphere, food is amazing. Slightly small portions for the price, comparatively, but fair given the quality of the ingredients. Principle complaint is online menu isn't updated frequently, which makes deciding when to visit difficult.
Hopewell's hidden gem! We met some college friends for some holiday cheer and we were blown away! The is a true farm-to-table restaurant that draws upon an 800 acre farm for grass feed meats and marries them with locally grown produce....capped off with unique signature cocktails and locally brewed beer. They operate out of a beautifully restored 1800s farmhouse with many smaller rooms which makes for an intimate experience. And a cozy bar area for pre-dinner libations. A gastronomic delight!
We love the place and would eat there every week if we lived closer. Please come to Morris County- Denville would be nice. We have no dining. The last place that opened is “the Pasta Shop” and its wonderful and packed every night. But its the ONLY place. Please check the area and start up shop.
Tremendous as always...we had the Tasting Menu and I could go on and on about each dish. But i won't, except to say that the portions and selection were exquisite. We will be back here again and again...and again.
However, I will probably request our seating to be upstairs in the future. This is the first time we have been sat downstairs near the wine cellar. It leaves quite a bit to be desired as far as ambiance. Clearly, this has no impact on the excellent service, knowledgeable sommelier or quality of food. However, we love the buzz on the main floor and seeing the different trays of food & drinks delivered to the many tables. Also, it makes for conversation at our table a bit easier without worrying about disturbing the nearby tables (on this night it was very quiet downstairs).
Excellent lunch with shepherd pie and interesting appetizers (pate..), along with a great wine list for pairings. Service was outstanding, with a little pour for tasting of each wine we picked.
