Excellent service, good drinks. The cauliflower tempura, hummus, and freshly baked pita were delicious, but you can take a pass on the tuna poke, which was swimming in sauce. The noise is still deafening.
Absolutely delicious. I had salad with grilled salmon salad and my friend had a different salad with grilled chicken...both moist, flavorful, with loads of tasty ingredients. Service was very attentive and sincere. We were there at a nicely quiet time, but it often has a high decibel level. Prices are moderate for such a high level of tastiness.
Food was excellent
Very loud environment
The food was great and so was the services d atmosphere but the music was way too loud. You could barely hear the person across the table.
We went to dinner before going to the theater. We all ordered the burgers and the restaurant accommodated our daughters taste and made her a pepperoni pizza that she loved. Overall the food was good the staff was great and it was very reasonably price and quick for theatergoers.
Food and service were great. The only issue was the place was incredibly loud. My friends and I planned to have a nice catch up dinner and we could barely hear each other between the loud music blasting from the speakers near the tables and the people all shouting to have conversations. The vibe is also sort of off...it’s like a club but also serves good food. I do not recommend if you’re looking for a nice meal and conversation but maybe a good place if you’re single and looking to meet someone (lots of attractive people).
It’s a good date or friend group vibe for drinking.
We were a big group so it was a little noisy because of us!! The food was great and the service was excellent!
The food and specials were great but the service was seriously lacking. We never got water refills, she never came back to take an entree order so we just got the checks after apps. We wanted to spend more money there and thus increase her tip but she just didn't seem to care so we left, the place only had about 5 other tables so there was no reason for the service to be so bad.
I’ve been to Brick & Mortar several times. This last time was very disappointing. We ordered 3 drinks, only 1 came. Put in food order, waited..food arrived...but no plates & still no drinks. We asked for plates (we had pizza, salad, Brie plate to share). 10 mins or more later still no plates. We ask again. Still no drinks. Another long wait, we are informed “we are out of plates”. We start eating our now cold pizza, dropping food all over the table. Still no drinks. Table next to us who sat down long after us receives their drinks. We tell the waitress that we are still waiting on our drinks. She finally gets them...our dinner is almost finished. We finally recieved 2 plates...there were 3 of us. Pay our check & leave to go across the street to get another drink because clearly, we didn’t want to risk ordering another round here.
Only to party - this place used to have great food and service. It just a party bar now.
Great server... very hospitable
This is a bar. It is not a gastro pub. Good for drinking, not eating.
We found the food to be sub-par bar food, and the service was not good either. I would not recommend this restaurant to a friend.
All probably would have been ok if it wasn't for the horrible service and so then that sort of colored the rest of the experience. Our waitress was busy, but not overly slow and basically was rude and dismissive until the she delivered the check and only then did she put in minimal effort obviously only because of a potential tip.
Can’t honestly rate this restaurant on anything but ambience and noise level. It was so loud with the football game blasting from four TV sets that we left l. Told the hostess and let her know we didn’t know it was a sports bar and she explained that it wasn’t and that several others had asked for the tv to be turned down too. Not our scene for dinner for sure.
I’m so sad to say, but Brick+Mortar has officially gone down hill. It’s not the same fun and lively ambiance that it once was. We went at 8:30pm on a Friday night for dinner and it was completely dead. Half the reason I loved coming here was the overall vibe. The food also went downhill and many of the items I once loved were not as good as I remember. The whole experience was disappointing and I don’t think I’ll make it back here again. So sad!
Everything we ordered (food and drinks) were amazing! Also had cream music! Definitely will go again!
Excellent food and service. Wish it was closer to us !
Although our salmon was cooked perfectly, the overall citric sauce on top of that and the veggies was a bit overpowering. The veggies were grilled and the salmon rested on top, but, if you aren't into veggies, that's all that comes with the meal for $21. No bread or potato. Although we thought the meal was overall pretty good, we went away hungry. We choose the place after looking at an online menu, but it was not the same menu. We were under the assumption that this was more of a restaurant with the "mouth watering" and "incredible" food, but it much more a bar setting and not many choices for an evening dinner out. With that being said, it had some neat features inside with the brick walls, but much more of a bar than a dinner place.
Living down the street, I come here quite often. This is the first time at lunch though. Restaurant was pretty empty and there was only one person doing service. My friend enjoyed her beet salad with chicken. My wild mushroom pizza seriously needed seasoning and was lacking in truffle oil. I had indicated when I made the reservation that we were celebrating a birthday, but that was totally ignored. Can do better...
Perhaps I missed it in other reviews, but this is more a hangout/bar than a nice restaurant. The music was incredibly loud, making dinner conversation virtually impossible. The crowd seemed to be there more for the bar scene. While the food was good and the service polite and efficient, it was not the relaxing dinner with friends that I was hoping for.
The food was excellent, but the service could use some attention. It was not very busy, and it appeared there was only one server there that night. My food came out really late because the server put in the wrong item. They did take care of my food and our desserts for the mixup.
Pet peeve: When I arrive with a reservation and the room is EMPTY, please accommodate my request for a simple table change. Don’t tell me it’s reserved for a larger party and then, an hour later give it to another two top... ANNOYING! Especially when the room never filled up and the food is mediocre. This place is a bust.
I had a fun night at Bricks + Mortar! It was WAYY TOO LOUD inside, however. Very small space, and the bar wasn’t separate from the dining area at all and people were treating the place as if it were a bar.
The food was pretty good overall, but needed a bit more salt. I loved the Mac n cheese! The service was a bit slow, but the waitress was super sweet and friendly!
Had a good time and a yummy meal, but it was too loud and the food could have used some improvement. Solid meal overall though!
Very very loud
The volume of the music was horribly uncomfortable. Our table could not have any conversation. Because the music is so loud other patrons were yelling to each other which made the room even louder.
It is very sad because the food was really delicious and the server was attentive.
Wasn't too crowded on a Friday night. Can just after 9pm for dinner and a drink. The dj stated up around 9:30 and it became more of a lively bar scene than a restaurant. Played good music.
Outstanding food and service. We thought we were going for pizza. Little did we know that we would have a gourmet meal!
Our server Adrian and our food were outstanding! One of the best roasted chickens on sweet potato mash with broccolini along with a baked Brie and crispy french bread.
My friend had ahi tuna on top of a delicious rice and veggie medley. Yummy!
Say room for the waffle churros with vanilla ice cream. Crispy and delightful!
Monday’s are dollar burger nights. That’s our next visit!
Food and service were excellent. However, the music inside made it difficult to carry on conversations without yelling at the person next to me.
Was fun and enlightening
The food was good; we had the roasted chicken, a salad, and the cauliflower appetizer. It was a bit loud for conversation, but we managed. This is basically a sports bar, so keep that in mind---lots of TVs with sports, loud, not romantic or intimate!
I was there to meet my date (#2). From the website it appearaed to be a worthwhile venue w/ambiance. Unfortunately, it was Sunday night football night!
It was quite loud. But, the energy wasn’t over-bearing...just busy. We lost our server..but, the hostess was on top of it. The drinks were f’n amazing! The Mushroom Pizza came out perfect.
Overall, I’d rate B&M a 7.5..with potential. We’ll see...on my next visit. Stay tuned!
The wild mushroom pizza with truffle oil was delicious! Will be coming back for more.
Group of girls celebrating a birthday. We had GREAT service! The food was delicious and we ate early on a Friday night, the restaurant was filled by the time we left but quiet when we got there. The lighting is great. We loved the Brie and desert was AMAZING! Will return, highly recommend.
Disappointing meal. Food was very over-rated. Cheese Board was good, however - so stick to the beer/cocktails and appetizers and happy hour. Expensive for what this is - not a great gastropub - trying to be one, but misses the mark. Not worth stopping by.
Very disappointing experience. I thought the days of dark, loud, and sticky (tables, floors) were past in all but the dingiest pubs. They do a nice cheese plate and my friends loved the poke bowl. I was miserable from start to finish, couldn't get out fast enough. Ain't no cheese good enough to endure the noise.
Six of us met for lunch at Brick+Mortar and we had a great experience. Our server was quick and friendly. The Margherita pizza was delicious, with fresh ingredients including basil and a tasty Naples-style crust. Salads are delicious. And the churros dessert is memorable. We will return!
I made a reservation for a Thursday 8 pm but there were plenty of tabes so no real need to reserve. the ambiance is more micro brewery - sports bar-ish but nice enough, it was a bit loud. The exposed architecture and high ceilings tend to be loud naturally. The crab cake and poke were very good, the pizza was cold and bland. Service was too slow considering it wasn't really very busy. Overall we had a nice time and I would come back again but with a group instead of a date.
I would gladly recommend a friend to the lively bar, but maybe not for dinmer past 8pm. The lights go down and the music goes up so loud you cannot hear the person across from you. Maybe the food was good, but i couldnt see it and the music silenced my date and I. Great if you want to have drinks, but spend money on dinner elsewhere first.
