Bricco - Harrisburg Ratings and Reviews
We have dined here many times and have always been pleased. However, this time things weren't at the same level of quality that we've had in the past. Having a reservation over 2 weeks in advance didn't provide us with an acceptable table (we were taken to a spot in front of the restrooms despite the restaurant being half empty). We asked to be moved and the 2nd option turned out to be equally busy, by a door, on a very cold evening. Two of us ordered petite portions & they were much smaller than in the past and for the same upscale price. Fortunately we filled up on bread. The service was also slower than usual and when our dinners came we had to ask for our bill because we were going to a show afterwards. Our reservation had allowed us 1 1/2 hrs to eat - however, we were unable to have coffee and dessert as the kitchen was so slow. Will be awhile before we try again.
I have probably eaten at Bricco 8 to 10 times and have been very pleased. My most recent experience was the exact opposite. 8 of us had dinner on a Friday night and it took approximately 2 hours. It was slow from the beginning and after the food arrived it was nothing special. No one apologized or offered any form of service recovery. Bricco was one of my favorite restaurants for a great meal, and I am now left wondering if it is changing for the worse.
Our food was delicious. We shared the roasted brussel sprouts, meatballs, mozzarella brushettta, and spinach salad. I really enjoyed the sustainable fish of the day, salmon, presented mixed with lump crab in salmon cakes. My husband's beef short ribs were very good. Our server, Barb, was very good! No room for dessert!
One of our faves. The wine and beer selection is very good and the menu has something for everyone...vegetarian and gluten-free included. It's not inexpensive but the food is delicious and the portions are appropriate. Convenient parking in the lot across the street or on-street at certain times.
The best Italian food we've eaten here since living in Europe and Italy for seven years. The pappadelle with duck regu was great and the polenta with pork loin was presented on aa olive wood plate. The polenta was different than any I'd eaten before but the dish was good.
The service was excellent with pleasant ambience. We (2) spent over $140 with the tip, but that included a large sangria, a specialty drink and a glass of wine($30). We each had a primi and main dish but skipped dessert.
Tried this restaurant for our anniversary after seeing it on a billboard, confirming the ratings on Trip Advisor, we thoroughly enjoyed our first time experience at Bricco. My wife ordered the special fish dish that was prepared fabulous, with a homemade gnocchi with a savory sauce. I ordered one of their staple dishes, sage pappardelle which was absolutely fantastic. Our waiter, Drew, was outstanding, very knowledgeable and extremely attentive. We also got a cheese board and a meatball pizza as appetizers. Will definitely return!
Went for a 2 year dating anniversary with my gf. We are not from Harrisburg, but about 25 minutes away. So it was taking a risk to go there. Turns out the place was amazing. Only gripe or complaint was that they put us right next to a group of about 6 or 8 people and they were loud...when there was clearly other tables available. Place was only about 50% full on a Saturday night prime dinner (7:00pm), so that was a bit of a surprise, but that is no reflection on the food or service. We are not wine aficionados, so we asked what wine would best suit my gf's dish, and he offered a handful of selections. From there, we went with a non-pricey one. The food was bursting with flavor, from the lobster and shrimp bisque (shame on us for not realizing there is actually not lobster or shrimp in the bisque, something we thought would actually be in there), to the rosemary bread and red pepper and olive oil hummus, to our main courses. She got a crab risotto, and I got a beef tenderloin palenta dish (never had anything like it, so wanted to try it. Both were excellent. Again, the only problem was the noise level, it was kind of hard to hear my gf right across the table when there was a group right next to us. Not the restaurant's fault though. Not that this is another gripe but they are an italian restaurant, but for the time we were there, we heard the same songs at least twice (mostly Frank Sinatra). So, maybe suggest to them to get more songs on their playlist. Overall a great experience!
As always, perfect food with exceptional service (Cassidy was awesome!). We hope it does not go too casual as this is one of the last great establishments where the clientele is not wearing yoga pants and jorts (Jean shorts). Keep it classy, please. We love it.
