IT seems they are going to start only doing togo till the construction downtown and COVID is over. Sorry to here that.
I hope they can survive this turbulence.
love to go here. Varied menu, good atmosphere.
The service was great and good was delicious! Will definitely go again.
Bricco continues to offer great food at reasonable prices, though their menu has been limited since its reopening. We were disappointed to find only three entree options, although there were enough pastas, pizzas and sandwiches to choose from. My main problem with Bricco, which has been the case for years, is the feeling of being rushed through the meal. In this visit, the server wanted to bring the entrees before we had finished our salads. There was no need to turn tables when only about one sixth of the tables were filled. We were in and out of the restaurant in just 50 minutes. So much for a restful, relaxed dining experience on a Saturday night. We will always support Bricco as an independent downtown restaurant, but I hope they begin to provide a less rushed experience.
Bricco pork chops and shrimp/scallops meals are both amazing!!!
With the road construction it was difficult to get to restaurant
We always enjoy dining at Bricco, although we don't make it that often. Our server, Taylor, was outstanding. The only negative was how the menu had shrunk so much since our last visit, which was about two years ago.
Service was pleasant but kitchen always seems a little slow with getting food out. All on all though it it a nice place to eat.
The food is always great here. My clients love sitting in a big booth.
The tomato artichoke soup is thick and has rich amazing flavor.
My vegetarian guests always find enough selections and are pleased.
Its a good menu and I've yet to have anyone not love what they ordered.
A “can’t miss” when entertaining clients.
Kudos!
It was a good Italian dinner nothing fancy but just whst we wanted. We were going to a concert ant the waitress made sure we were on time
Food was absolutely incredible. Wait staff was nice, but the service was so sloooooow, it hindered our opinion on our experience. Waited at least 20+ mins until we received our drinks that we ordered. It was also very hot inside the restaurant, to the point where it was uncomfortable. Absolutely zero complaints about the food. It was delicious.
This Bricco needs a makeover. The bench seat I sat on was peeling very badly to the point there was no vinyl layering left on it. I wouldn’t normally complain about such a thing but this is a Bricco. The decorative open concept ceiling vent fixtures had a layer of dust that was visible from our table. It could be due to the ton of street work being done just outside. The meal was good but drinks are way over priced.
I ate there for the 1st and last time 2/15/20 the day after Valentine’s Day for diner the service was poor and the food was worse!!! Overdone pasta in a bowl full of red sauce cold crab dip appetizer (supposed to be hot) drinks were awful and not as described on the menu. I will not be returning.
I enjoy coming to Bricco - Downtown Akron. Great food & drinks, and the customer service is always excellent!
Had a nice Valentine’s Day dinner there. Service was great and food was good.
Enjoyed the food and drinks very much. Celebrated Valentine’s Day and we were happy with the entire evening.
Great service. Cold by the windows. Food was delicious! Definitely paid for what we got, comes with the territory of higher end restaurants. Overall very filling and wonderful Valentine’s evening.
The scallops were very good paired with the brussel sprouts salad. Don’t let the road construction deter you from dining here.
Except for the terrible parking situation downtown Akron right now, this is a great place to go before the theatre. The service was great and the food was delicious. Our server, an Akron U student, drew us a map to get to EJ Thomas through the construction. Very kind of him.
Food was very good. Service was very slow. Booth seats were all torn up. They were out of two different bottles of wine we ordered.
My friend and I stopped in to Bricco before attending the Wine, Cheese and Chocolate fundraiser at Akron Civic Theater. Because we were going to be consuming quite a bit to eat and drink shortly after, we opted for the wedge salad and a glass of wine. It was delicious and nutritious! The only thing that we would have enjoyed is a nice piece of crusty bread alongside the salad. Our server was Michael, a delightful Akron U marketing student, when he's not working at Bricco.
Food was delicious. I had the chicken and grits and it was amazing!
We were downtown for a concert and wanted to go to Bricco. The hostesses were so nice, great table, great food and wine. Even with all the construction, it’s such a cozy place. It’s a favorite!!
I’ve never been disappointed when I dine here.
Positive experience. Food was good and served in a reasonable time. Restaurant starting to look a bit worn. Our booth seats needed new upholstery.
Food was good and creative. Service was ok. Good atmosphere for business lunch.
Love downtown Akron and Kent Bricco's locations. Best martinis in my opinion!
This establishment used to be my favorite area restaurant to eat at. The quality of the food has declined. The sauce on my pasta tasted curdled and was not very tasty. The chorizo sausage had no flavor at all. Appetizer portions were extremely skimpy. Fried pickles tasted like fish. Service was slow. On the up side the martinis were delicious as usual, but great martinis do not make up for all the deficiencies in the food and service. Will think long and hard before I come back here again.
I used to love Bricco. But this visit changed my view. First, they sat us at a table with a ripped up bench. Next the drink menu- tried to order 2 different drinks and they didn’t have them- finally got it and it was awful. Then our waitress, just not attentive at all. Sat without water or a drink for have the meal- they weren’t even that busy. Food was just OK, not the same quality I remember. I don’t know if it’s new owners or what, but this was my least favorite visit. Wouldn’t waste my money again.
Great staff and excellent food.
Went on a Friday night at 7pm. Sat for 20 minutes before we were even greeted by our server. Only saw our server again once more 10 minutes after another waitress delivered our meals. She then complained that she was very busy, despite it being a nearly empty house with only two other visible dining parties. At that point I already had a bias, but even considering that, food was really just mediocre. Wife got a tasteless pasta and my burger was overcooked with cold fries. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place.
We made a reservation online with OpenTable but when we arrived, they didn't have our reservation. So, it took a few minutes for them to set up a table and we were in the back, in an overflow type of room. The service was OK, but we felt like they forgot about us at times. The food was delicious though!
Shrimp & scallops entree with risotto was delicious! Would order it again. The chef was overly generous with pepper for the other two entrees ordered at our table but flavor was good. Server was attentive but seemed oblivious to the fact that a couple of items were barely touched and did not inquire if there was a problem. Location is convenient to EJ Thomas Hall (not quite a mile). Downtown construction is unfortunate as it makes parking more difficult to find (unless you use valet). I would eat there again but would allow more time to find parking.
Attentive server, very good food
Great atmosphere and very nice restaurant. A little expensive for the quality of the food. Food was good but not excellent and prices were a little high.
We eat here a few times a year and this last time was a let down. I had the mushroom penne which is normally spicy with banana peppers and andouille sausage. (I’ve had it 2 previous times) I know they cannot control the heat of the peppers but the peppers had absolutely no flavor and the Italian sausage was also very blah. No zip to this dish anymore at all.
My husband and I both orederd martinis and they both were served in regular glasses, waiter told us they didn’t have any clean martini glasses. The restaurant was not even full of people. The drink does not taste as good just served in a regular old fashioned type of glass , order more martini glasses .
The seat cushions are in need of repair, the vinyl is peeling off . It’s been this way for a long time.
Despite having a reservation, we were ignored by the hostess and other parties were taken ahead of us. This was a professional luncheon and it really threw our timeline off for the afternoon. Additionally, our server seemed very distracted and couldn't seem to remember what we were asking for or would only come back with part of our order. One of our doctors had to box her lunch as she didn't even have time to eat it. It was one of the worst experiences we've had there.
Had a really nice Sweetest Day dinner with my sweet! The cauliflower crust pizza at Bricco is SO GOOD! Both Peach and Espresso martinis were top notch. Service was wonderful - thank you Michael! HIGHLY recommend Bricco & looking forward to our next meal there......... : )
We ordered hot tea. One mug had several lipstick prints on it, the other mug had a spoon in it with caked on food. We sent those back and got 2 more mugs. One appeared to be clean and the other had a coffee stain on the inside and when scaped with spoon it can loose. Our server appeared to have an attitude because we complained of the dirty dishes as if we were bothering her. The host came to help and was very nice. She was the only reason we did not walk out and leave. I will not return nor would I recommend this restaurant to anyone.
As always, wonderful food and service!
Bricco is at a terrible disadvantage for a really good restaurant. The construction around downtown Akron just goes on and on. Why did anyone decide to do so many blocks at once? Our server was new and she was charming. Food and drinks were both good and they kept us on time to get to our show. People should make the effort to get there for lunch or dinner, especially during this construction phase.
Thank you for your kind words. Yes, the construction has been a challenge. Please continue to support the Downtown location but please support the other 3 locations as well to help midigate the lost revenue downtown. Follow all our location on Facebook for news and events.
