I've always enjoyed the food at Briarhurst. As expected, the five-course meal takes time, but the restaurant was highly understaffed this time. Morgan handled our table, along with at least eight others with a smile. The bourbon strawberry crush was delightful, as was Cristian the bartender. The creme brulee was a little more liquidy than I like, but the scallops basically melted in my mouth. The calamari was truly delicious, but the salad size was rather...gourmet. Overall, not our best experience here, but the staff sure did the best they could given the conditions!
Went here for 6th and 8th Anniversary, both time wonderful experience. Very professional service and outstanding food.
The food was perfect! We were seated at a romantic table with a great view. The service was impeccable!
We used a Groupon voucher for the dinner at Briarhurst. It wasn't clear on the Groupon web page indicating the max amount of value one can use with the voucher. You'd almost pick the lowest priced entry of appetizer, main and desert on the menu to meet the voucher value. We had to pay about the same value of voucher on top of the voucher price we paid previously. Groupon should make it clear on how much the voucher value is. It's kind of cheating..
Elk chop was beyond fabulous! Best chop I’ve ever had! Lobster bisque was to die for! Pineapple orange dessert was fantastic!
The food was good but for the price I would rather spend my money at The Famous. They try really hard to be upscale fine dining but the service doesn't quite follow through. Our waiter must have been new because he didn't seem to be knowledgeable about their offerings. Overall, it was a fun experience.
Impeccable as always. The food was amazing and service was stellar.
Very quiet, very nice, very good cuisine and the best service in Colorado Springs.
After seeing mixed reviews on the website, we were unsure of what to expect.
We were extremely pleased and happy with the evening. From the time we entered and were greeted by the host to Morgan, who was our amazing waitperson, they all made the evening a pleasure. The chef adjusted the food to my dietary needs of GF and DF without compromising the courses and the boar dish. All was very flavorful and well prepared. My husband had the Beef Wellington with was exactly as expected - wonderful!
We sat in the Garden room with an amazing view of Pikes Peak and it was a cozy room on a windy night. the prices were reflective of the quality of the meals.
We look forward to our next visit.
My wife and I came for dinner to celebrate both of our birthdays. It was very nice. The atmosphere is wonderful. Our waiter, RJ, was great. Beef Wellington and filet were very good. Will be back sometime this Summer.
Service was great for our 5-course meal, until desert. Took forever to get attention after desert was served. 30 minutes between getting desert and the check. Waters were refilled until desert was served, then had to ask.
Stay away from the beef tips as they were only OK. Friend got a huge piece of gristle in his, both we’re hard to cut.
Veggie entree was very good according to wife.
The desert that I don’t remember the name for and isn’t shown on their online menus - but it had expresso in it - was fantastic.
Wonderful dinner in commemoration of our engagement there 37 years ago.
I would highly encourage the restaurant to limit it to people over the age of 7. We were in a room filled with children and a screaming baby-if I wanted to go to a family restaurant I would. However this is a very nice upscale eatery and should not allow babies or anyone under the age of 7. or they have a designated room for families.
Upscale restaurants such as this are nice for birthdays, date nights, etc... and should not be an every day dining experience. Also the room was extremely drafty.
Too fancy for the casual bite to eat but perfect for special occasions when you really want to impress.
When I made reservations for Valentine’s Day back in December last year, I asked if there was menu availability and was told “absolutely”. When we arrived it was a flat rate of 99$ per person as the only option. The entire bill with tip was 290$. It was an outright lie to be manipulated into this without being told the truth. Never again will I eat there and will certainly let all my friends and co-workers know of the dishonesty of this establishment.
Very nice. Went early for special- very good lobster tail & filet. Added on the other courses $18 - well worth it great salad & dessert.
Had a wonderful time celebrating our anniversary. The food was perfect. The ambiance is normally great. Not so much this visit due to a party of 6 in our area that were a bit loud at times but they were celebrating a promotion.
Excellent as it always has been. My wife and I have been there many times over the years and have never had less than five star food, service, and ambiance.
Great food. Accommodating chef. A favorite. However, waiter talked way too loud/disruptive for a restaurant of this caliber.
We had a very nice wedding anniversary dinner. The food and the experience made the evening memorable! We would definitely go back, and we would definitely recommend Briarhurst Manor to friends and Family!!
I love this place. It’s historic and beautiful! We always enjoy the cuisine and the ambience. I took my mom out and it was such a great time. The food was delicious! We’ll definitely be back!
The food was good, as expected, for the price. It’s a romantic setting. Our server was nice and knowledgeable, but his voice was so booming, we could hear him repeat the same schpeal at every table. That was obnoxious and laughable, almost like he was putting on a show. He went so far to have told one table something and ask another to confirm it from across the room because they already had their food. At that point it seemed a little like we were in a pizza joint. Good food. Nice guy. I wouldn’t go back, though. None of it worth the expense.
Probably one of the best dining experiences I have ever had! Amazing! We will definitely be coming back again.
Briarhurst Manor has a wonderful atmosphere. This castle built in the 1800's is beautiful. We were able to tour the manor. I loved all the different fireplaces, each one was unique.
The Briarhurst Manor has wonderful 5 course meals.
Wonderful evening!
We went for a Murder Mystery play and dinner. Everything except the venue was just mediocre. From the food to the actors to the "play" to the fact we had to try three doors and then go back almost to the first door to get in. We expected quite a bit more. Beautiful place though. Might go back and try the regular menu.
Chef refused to cook our elk chops above med rare; also let us know that if they were undercooked or otherwise not right, too bad. Food was good but not exceptional. Service started out good but grew increasingly poor and dismissive as the meal wore on. We will not go back.
We had Christmas Eve dinner at The Briarhurst Manor. The food was delicious and the "set" menu had some wonderful options for a reasonable price. Our server, Leonard, was very helpful and friendly and made the evening quite enjoyable. My only complaint was the lighting was a bit bright and fluorescent, and the room we dined in was chilly. Overall though, we had a great night!
Great history and great food. I will definitely be back!!
First of all, the mansion ambiance tops all other reasons to dine there. Each dining room (eight, or more) are gorgeous and homey. The beautiful interior is comfortable and relaxing. The menu is also great. We enjoyed Jaime's service. The multi-course meal can be enhanced to make it five-course adding soup-or-salad and dessert. Amanda had called a day ahead to verify our reservation and inquire about any special needs. Plentiful parking, inviting curb appeal, and friendly staff. Highly recommended!
This night was for my birthday dinner which was completely ruined by letting in 3 loud drunks (they were already hammered when they arrived) that were continuously over served the entire course of our dinner. One of the the 3 had thrown up all over the bathroom and the staff was notified and yet at least 5 more shots were brought to them after, before we hurried to leave. My romantic dinner for my birthday was cut short over the loud yelling of the guests in our dining area which was topped off by one knocking over water and after her water is refilled, pouring water over one of their fellow diners. The food was so so and I even had to return my main course because it was so awful. Our server was awesome so I can't cut his part short. Very pleasant. The server, Leonard, who had the drunk diners should have cut them off at the door instead of joking with them and offering them a ride home (since they walked). I felt more like we spent the evening in an obnoxious bar than at an upscale dinner.
Very nice!
We have been there often for special occasions. We always love the seasonal menu items. They are creative and well prepared by a talented staff. The service, as always is attentive but not over bearing leaving our privacy as desired.
Went for the 5 course meal. Had the Prawns and Beef tips which were both excellent.
Denny the server was outstanding.
If you don’t have a smile on your face coming in, you will going out. Always perfect!
The meal was splendid and I thoroughly enjoyed not only the wine but the service as well! I strongly recommend for a date or special occasion!
Beautiful restaurant with amazing food and service. Their 5 course option is outstanding! They made our anniversary a night to remember.
Lovely ambiance with a very attentive and incredibly timely staff. All of the good prepared was phenomenal and artistically presented. Would definitely recommend!
Cool old place. A little run down. Way overpriced.
Dining at the Briarhurst is always a special occasion. The 19th-century manor is fun to be in, no matter what the reason. The price is out of my normal range, but definitely "worth it" for special occasions. On this particular visit, 4 of us came to order the same "early bird special" of surf and turf. We found an inexpensive Malbec to go with the meal, and the food was scrumptious. My steak was a little less tender than ones I have had at steak specialty houses, but it was perfectly cooked and very tasty. The Malbec was a little warm, but tasted of dark fruits, and went perfectly with the meal. The service at the Briarhurst is always impeccable. And with the "early bird" special, we definitely "got our money's worth."
Went with my wife and we really enjoyed everything! From the bread to the dessert. Excellent food and excellent service. Worth every penny!
