I booked anniversary dinner for my parents and the staff was great in working with me to arrange payment and pre-order their meal. My parents said the meal was great and service was wonderful. I thank you all for helping me to make their dinner special.

The food was excellent. The service was too slow. Two and one half hours is too long for the meal. Too much time was spent between courses. The price was too high for the food.

Food was great, as usual. They have a new chef and new owners coming soon. Our server, Garrett, said the new owners will convert the restaurant to a three meals/day format with relaxed and fine dining offered. Can't wait to try it!

Definitely not like it used to be. We were a little disappointed in the quality of the food. We’ve been coming for years and it’s certainly not the “special occasion restaurant “ it was before.

The 4 star on the food was due to the Ribeye being overcooked. Ordered medium well but came out well, no pink. Customer service was great.

I would say that the waiter was fantastic, I didn’t have a good vibe going in and in all honesty felt ripped off, I could’ve cooked a steak at home for 1/10 of the price and the atmosphere was extremely dull and creepy at times. The host seemed like it was a funeral home and the quiet vibes mixed with the below average food wasn’t pleasant and ultimately I felt scammed for the price. I would have rather went to McDonald’s and called it a night.

First time we have been there in the past few years. Hostess was disorganized and flustered with three couples waiting to be seated. Waitress was on second day and did a great job, food was not great. The steak my wife had was burnt, the duck I had was bland and had no flavor. The lobster bisque was still amazing as we remembered, but we both missed the beef Wellington. Building needs a solid deep cleaning, rugs were nasty, floors dirty, fireplace needs to be cleaned. This used to be a great romantic setting.

I loved the experience we had at Briarhurst. Our waiter was very helpful. We ordered the five course dinner which was amazing! So fun to eat different things that are so well plated. I personally order the filet which was not as tender as I like, but, the other two ordered elk and loved it. Overall we loved the experience and hopefully return.

This was our second time at the Briarhurst. The previous was over twenty years ago. We found it difficult to find the property at night. Very dark area with just window lights. We had to guess where the front door was. The place was half occupied at 7pm on a Saturday. Service was a disaster for a venue with this heritage. The poor one only server, who did his best under the circumstances, apparently was “drafted” for the night knew very little of the food, it’s ingredients, or what the menu contained. The food presented was excellent. Top ingredients, very enjoyable, and presented smartly and warm. The facility while representing the historic manor of a rich Englishman has become more a musty museum of worn floor, tarnished silver, old normal furnishings. I don’t remember any accompanying mood music. The overall impression was staging a meal out of the blue in an old Victorian home museum after closing hours. I found it depressing and just wanted the experience over with. It’s a real shame that the venue has been allowed to get to this state. With inspiration, investment and first class management this could a real rival for the local Broadmoor.

It took 3.5 hours to eat. We purchased the 5 course meal but did not receive at least one course. As we ate dessert the waitress said she forgot the bread but would have it right out…we never say it. The bill was very wrong. We were over charged about $20. I tried to explain a few times but was met with its a new system And we just fixed it last night. Which was it? The bathrooms need maintenance and cleaning. The chandelier would literally go dark every 30 seconds or so. The food was flavorful but came out chilled. There were only 5 cars in the parking lot. This was a BIG miss.

This place needs help, ran down needs new carpet bathrooms are beyond dirty. We waited 1.5 hr to get an amuse busche that was a gift from the chef. I have never left a restaurant before. We didn’t eat and just trying to pay for my drink was a hassle, so I just laid $ on the hostess stand. They need lighting outside. Entrance sign and the main foyer is stacked with a crazy amount of just clutter. The owner should be appalled, they need to take a walk about the property from inside and out. Then to charge any where from $79 to $99 a plate. The servers need to be taught how to dress and handle answering questions. No excuse for this kind of mess and nonsense. Let me get your place into shape! Crazy to me and especially on New Years Eve. I should be paid to come there! Sorry for being harsh but you need to know

We always love visiting the beautiful and historic Briarhurst Manor. The food is still very good but the service has fallen off. Understand it might be difficult to hire right now, but the existing staff needs some major training (attire, attitude, experience) to provide necessary good service and high level one expects at the Briarhurst. Service was slow, which in itself is OK, but good communication and follow up was a problem. Will be back – but please train/hire staff to match the sophistication and elegance of this beautiful place.

Wonderful venue for a extra special occasion. Tucked away to appear exclusive but very accessible to all. Great service from greeting to farewell, attentive yet relaxed, not rushed yet timely. Food quality and quantity was well balanced from appetizers to desert that was enjoyed later at home. Thank you for an anniversary that will be remembered for years to come. Not sure we can top it anywhere.

Very friendly staff and the duck was very well executed. Nonetheless, from having dined at the Briarhurst several times many years ago, it does not seem to be a 5-star experience anymore. The lobster bisque was way off and the crab rangoons over-fried. The kitchen should have caught that. Very long wait time for main course. The interior of the Briarhurst appeared somewhat neglected, which is sad since it is such a splendid place.

It is hard to described this 3 hour marathon dinner. The wait staff had 2 days of experience. Our waiter was nice but lacked experience. From not knowing anything about if they sold wine by the glass and putting our red bottle of wine on ice. Each progressive serving got worse. From super salty lobster bisque .Our meals were large but not tasteful. No one at our table of 4 liked their entree. The turkey big drumstick on messy gravy soaked potatoes and oily vegetables. The pasta, the salmon and scallops were equally unacceptable. Our group had some great laughs but unfortunately it was at the experience of the restaurant.

I a visit to the Briarhurst is a quality dining experience. Most American restaurants feed you, pushing your order at you at their convenience -- e.g., you have ASK that the appetizer be served PRIOR to the entree. At the Briarhurst, you don't have to manage your meal, the waiting staff does that. I look forward to my next meal there.

We're long-time customers, so this was a real shock. Reservation for Sunday, December 18 made a month prior, but they didn't read the special table request. Served bread and water immediately after seating, but that was the last contact from any employee for 35 minutes--no drink order, no food order, no contact at all. Two other parties in same room were attended by server, but we were ignored. Unfortunately, other guests complained about s...l...o...w service. I won't be back soon but may give them one more chance next year to see if they can figure out how to provide a white tablecloth experience again. Briarhurst Manor needs immediate owner attention!

The food was delicious but it took a long time in between courses. The waitress did an excellent job but I had asked for specific things to be provided for my husband’s birthday which were not followed up on to make the night special. I also requested the bill be given to me and it was not. They allowed my guest to have it and to pay for the meal.

Bread not fresh and dry, tasteless. Lobster bisque was salty gravy with no lobster or seafood taste. Salad was good but not special. Filet mignon was tender and cooked right, but sauce was tasteless and meat wasn't seasoned. Drinks ok. Dessert excellent. We won't go back, and almost never are negative about an experience, so this is saying something.

Waitress more or less detracted from the experience. She was awkward, not very attentive, and “forgot” that the reservation was booked showing that we were celebrating our anniversary and birthday. She offered nothing, did not bring candles for desserts we paid for and never congratulated us. We would recommend this beautiful restaurant in a historic manor. Just hope this waitress learns better customer service.

The food was exceptional, the service extraordinary, and the atmosphere was elegant (we were seated in the library and it was as if we had stepped back in time). The Briarhurst Manor made the best decision when they hired Chef William Glowacki. It was a total 180 from the last time I visited. Salina is a wonderful server, and the food was absolutely incredible. I have zero complaints about my visit. Honestly this was the best experience I have had at any restaurant and the food! Oh the food was so good. The manor was beautiful and the ambience was perfect. Quiet and cozy. I loved every minute I was there. I cannot wait to return back for another absolutely delicious meal.

The food and service has gone downhill. It used to be a 5-star dining experience and has now dropped to 1-star. We waited almost 2 hours for the soup to arrive (first course). It wasn't cooked correctly. The main course was extremely small proportions and left much to be desired on taste and cooking. The entire meal took over 3 hours to complete due to kitchen issues. We lost our appetite by the end of the prolonged meal. They mentioned that there was a completely new staff and the kitchen did an extremely abysmal job. Other than excuses, no discount was offered for such dismal food and service. I recommend closing the restaurant until you are able to once again provide 5-star food and service. The next night we dined at the Pepper Tree and received the expected 5-star service. Briarhurst should take note. Extremely disappointed and will not be dining there again. There are too many other restaurants that can outperform the current state of the Briarhurst.
