Bar area way better to sit at than dining room. No interest in white table cloth when up in Breckenridge. They did accommodate which was nice, and food was great!
Great food. Best steaks and chops in Breck by far! Mac and cheese side is amazing.
Best food and best service we had in Breckenridge!
Amazing food and very attentive service.
My favorite place in Breck for Steaks! Great Manhattans as well! Love it every time!
Fantastic steakhouse, great service and atmosphere. We don’t ever miss our dinner at Briar Rose on our annual ski trip.
We've enjoyed the Briar Rose over many years. Great food variety, excellent staff, courteous and friendly personnel. Old building that captures the history of Breckenridge, Circa 1860. Comfortable dining room and a separate bar/eating area that is also fun. Dave, the manager runs a great restaurant, Will is an excellent wine specialist, and this time we had Ben as our server and thoroughly enjoyed him.
Always great food, wine & service. Elk medallions are hard to beat.
Very nice food & excellent staff - enjoyed immensely. Second time we’ve dined there & enjoyed both!
We sat in the bar area. The waitstaff was great! The food was amazing!
Bachelor party weekend
Seating accommodations had to be escalated to a general manager who didn’t want to accommodate until we asked to speak to his manager. The appetizers were all good and delivered on temperature. Everyone ordered a steak and all delivered warm not hot. The butter wouldn’t even melt. What is up with the drainage from the steaks ? The steak sits in a Luke warm watery broth. At first it looks like natural juices but after a while you figure out it’s not. The sides we ordered were just ok, Mac and cheese, Brussels sprouts and roasted wild mushrooms. Our family has eaten here over 15 times and it’s not getting any better. The service was good but you don’t go out to eat for good service. Unfortunately, I have to pass on this place next time.
Have to make a trip every time we are in town. Had a wonderful experience on thanksgiving as well!!
Overall Ok but not outstanding appetizers were good, asparagus was overcooked and limp quite tasteless had truffle butter on the steak, steak arrived cold and butter unmelted, they should have tented the steak with the butter on to let the butter melt in and keep the steak warm. Although ok the value for the price was not there.
One of the best meals of my life. We had the elk medallions...melt in your mouth. The escargot and scallop starters were delicious. The key lime pie was as good as the home made one I had in St Thomas and I had not been able to find one equal to that! Wine list is never ending. Excellent waitstaff and atmosphere!
We always come here when we visit Breckenridge. Hands down, the best steakhouse we have ever been to!
All in all an excellent dining experience. The appetizers were fantastic. The filet melted in your mouth and the sides were phenomenal. The only draw back to the meal was the bison short ribs had great flavor but a little tough. The atmosphere is cozy and great for conversation and our service was excellent.
Great wait staff help to make a dining experience -- and our server Kelly at Briar Rose was knowledgable about menu items and helpful when it came to dietary constraints. She also handled every request in a helpful and kind manner. We ordered the prime rib, New York strip and both were cooked perfectly. All of the sides were tasty -- especially the roasted wild mushrooms.
Excellent food and service
We are visiting on a family ski vacation. The meal was wonderful! The atmosphere was nice for a relaxing dinner. So many places in Breck are bars/pubs and are very noisey. This dinner was a highlight of our trip
Great atmosphere and service!
Service was impersonal and quite slow, 20 min from seating until first cocktail received. One entree improperly cooked. Staff member who passed by our table complained on entree re-prep. Final bill in error and needed correction. We chose this restaurant based on prior reviews and description. Our expectations were for a high end chophouse with aged angus beef. We found a menu priced to this accord; however, delivering on a lower standard.
Day 3 of skiing with mom son on part of his spring break and we were looking forward to a great steak. Have been to Breckenridge numerour times before but never had the chance to eat at Briar Rose Chophouse. Having looked at reviews we chose Briar Rose for our redmeat dinner.
We arrived about 20 minutes early and the hostess directed us to the bar while our table opened up. After just ordering 2 cocktails talking to some people at bar about the food, we were surprised to hear our table was ready. Dom, our server was great. Having just gotten drinks and wanting to relax a bit, he insisted there was no rush. After a while, he recommended the Elk Meddalions, a house specialty, and the Ribeye. Both were fantastic. Will be back again in the Breck area and will definitely enjoy another meal at Briar Rose.
Welcoming fine dining experience! Food superior along with the ambience and wait staff. Attention to detail makes it one of the best meals in town!
Very impressed! Ownership couldn’t have been nicer and more accommodating!
Food and presentation was excellent. Waiting staff are very attentive to the needs.
Every part of the meal was great! The drinks, filet, salad, brussel sprouts, mac n cheese...Thank you
Host was exceptional. Called me by name. Free drink while I waited and sincere in apology with my wait
It was my 46th birthday with friends and family that I’ve been hanging out with for three decades. When we first moved to Colorado we all lives somewhere along 70 in a ski town. It’s so awesome to come back and have some great steaks (buffalo and beef tomahawk) and whiskey. One of our crew was to much of a mess to ski the next day but even he didn’t regret it. If you want to eat some great steak and sides and imbibe in some drinks it is such a great place to go.
Good food and service. Enjoy paying 4 to 6 times retail price for a bottle of wine.
Excellent food service and ambiance. Will was our waiter and he did a super job. We did not feel rushed. Great place. Thank you
Great atmosphere, excellent service, wonderful food. A little pricey.
Great food with extremely fast service. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable.
Three of us went to dinner. We were late to our 7:15 reservation so we were seated at7:45pm. We ordered a glass of wine each. We ordered a crab cake appetizer to share and had them add a third cake to the order. We then ordered two new york strip steaks medium and medium rare. The crab-cakes were delicious. The steaks came out over cooked. The creamed spinach mushrooms and baked potato were tasty but the potato was cold. The steaks came out again and they were not very good quality. We were extremely disappointed . The manager took off one steak and comped a dessert. It was not a very impressive dining experience and it still cost us 65 dollars per person!.
Table for 5 - started slowly, not greeted right away, drink orders slow then drinks came and food & wine kept coming. Bacon wrapped scallops and lamb chops were the best. Cheesecake to finish off a great night.
We go to Briar Rose every time we go skiing. We look forward to our meal as much as the skiing.
Delicious! The Escargot is amazing, and the chocolate terrine made my day! Perfect birthday dinner!
Dinned at Briar Rose with my husband and daughters while skiing in Breck for the weekend. Pros: great service, (thank you, Ben), kids’ menu, wine selection, and excellent sides. Cons: my salad was drenched in dressing after I requested it on the side and over cooked fillets.
Overall it was a nice dinner. The service, happy kids, and a great bottle of wine made up for the salad and steak.
Great staff. Great food. Very nice atmosphere, small restaurant. The staff were very attentive and accommodating.
