The Briar Rose was, as usual, excellent! I hate to give it too good a review as it's already difficult to get a reservation because it is so good and so popular. However, they deserve all the praise. Staff is awesome, food is great, service is excellent! What more can one say besides go there. You will be happy!

One of our Favs. Date night with no kids. Our waitress was spot on, polite, friendly and attentive. I ordered the lamb chops, my wife the Elk medallions. Chops were awesome and portions plentiful as were the Elk portions. The Elk could have been waived over the flame one more time, but delicious. We will be back

Appetizers, sides and desserts were great. Ribeye steaks were mediocre. Filets were much better. Service is outstanding. But, for the price the Ribeye's were disappointing.

We had a very nice family dinner at this restaurant. Ordered buffalo rib eye, elk and a few sides and everything was delicious. I would recommend the cheesecake for dessert. Must visit restaurant in Breckinridge

I have eaten here several times over the last 10 years and it has never disappointed. Excellent service, a throwback to the elegance of the classic steakhouse, and the food is just the right of uniqueness and always prepared to perfection. It is a pricey venue but not overpriced for the quality.

The menu was pleasant, wide selection of game to be enjoyed and the sides were all delicious and very shareable. Our waitress was kind but you could tell she didn't know much about the wine list and kept encouraging us to try the most expensive wine. When we got our food literally every plate was cold and had to be sent back. Wouldn't return.

Cowboy cut Bison ribeye was one of the best steaks I have ever had! Great historic spot just a block of the main drag in Breckenridge. Great service, good drinks and wonderful food! Priced inline with any comparable steak house.

My wife and I have eaten here before. This evening was not a good one. The waiter seemed attentive while we ordered, but my order did not come out as I ordered it. I went there to have the prime rib. I ordered it very rare and what I got was a cool medium prime rib. I brought this to the waIter's attention and he offered to fix the problem. Then the manager came out and told me they could not get me rare. I settled for a slightly less cooked, but at least not cool prime rib.

Our reservation was at 6:30 not 8:00. One would expect that a steak house would still have rare prime rib at that hour. In any case the waiter should have checked. I would have ordered something else if I would have been told that rare was not available. This was not a good mark for the restaurant. I'm not sure I will return.

Always one of our favorite dinners when we are in Breck Never disappoints from steak to seafood...especially the lobster tail. Nice wine list and sommelier is very helpful...listens to what you are looking for, along with the price.

Service was spotty, and steaks were raw on one side, and well done on the other. The creamed spinach tasted like canned spinach, and the baked potato was several hours old - dry and overdone. Not worth the money that was spent - on par with a low end chain restaurant.

My buffalo ribeye was overly charred and fatty, the root gratain was just potato au gratin, and arugula and beet salad had no dressing. The only thing I enjoyed was the atmosphere. Staff was also friendly. Other than that this place served over priced food that really wasn’t that special.

Bar area way better to sit at than dining room. No interest in white table cloth when up in Breckenridge. They did accommodate which was nice, and food was great!

We've enjoyed the Briar Rose over many years. Great food variety, excellent staff, courteous and friendly personnel. Old building that captures the history of Breckenridge, Circa 1860. Comfortable dining room and a separate bar/eating area that is also fun. Dave, the manager runs a great restaurant, Will is an excellent wine specialist, and this time we had Ben as our server and thoroughly enjoyed him.

Seating accommodations had to be escalated to a general manager who didn’t want to accommodate until we asked to speak to his manager. The appetizers were all good and delivered on temperature. Everyone ordered a steak and all delivered warm not hot. The butter wouldn’t even melt. What is up with the drainage from the steaks ? The steak sits in a Luke warm watery broth. At first it looks like natural juices but after a while you figure out it’s not. The sides we ordered were just ok, Mac and cheese, Brussels sprouts and roasted wild mushrooms. Our family has eaten here over 15 times and it’s not getting any better. The service was good but you don’t go out to eat for good service. Unfortunately, I have to pass on this place next time.
