Briar Rose Chophouse & Saloon Ratings and Reviews
while parts of the meal were tasty, ie mashed potatoes were amazing, steak was good, creme brûlée was good, other parts were very disappointing prime rib extremely fatty, brussel sprouts were burned, tough and had too much vinegar on them. For the price and the build up we were expecting amazing and we got mediocre
Arrived about 40 minutes early. Ordered a drink at the bar, but they were able to seat us at a very nice table in main dining room just after drinks were served. Service was very nice. This is a chop house and steaks were perfect. Have been here in years past and will return.
The meal was fabulous. The ambiance was a fine dining experience and our waitress Katrina was very attentive and friendly which added to the experience. The ONLY complaint I have is the noise. The kitchen and dish area are only separated from the dining room by a partition and when the servers were putting up the clean dishes it was disturbing loud. No other complaints and will definitely return. Thanks for a great meal!!
Wonderful service, knowledgeable waiter, steaks looked exquisite but we ordered from the salad and appetizer menus to stay within our budget. Everything was done professionally and we left the restaurant knowing we had accomplished a fine dining experience within our budget. Great job Briar Rose!
After a day of white water rafting on the Colorado River, our party of four headed to the Briar Rose for steak dinners. We started with escargot and Caesar salads. My wife and I shared the special 37 ounce ribeye while my son had the prime rib and his girlfriend enjoyed a petite filet. Although the ribeye was undercooked initially, our waitress responded immediately and brought it back to the chef for additional preparation. The prime rib was served perfectly but the petite filet was too rare. Upon its return, the ribeye was excellent and really flavorful. The family sides of asparagus and thin fries added to the meal. After finishing off our steaks, we split an amazing chocolate cake and some coffee. The Briar Rose has an extensive menu and the service was outstanding.
We went for a birthday dinner on August 31 and had a great time. We started with the crab cake appetizer and it was delicious! Then, we ordered and shared the 10 oz filet, Mac and cheese and creamed corn- which, again, was delicious and didn't disappoint. The mac and cheese was super cheesy and creamy and the creamed corn was ah-mazing. Our waiter was Ben and he was fantastic and informative. Our date ended with cheesecake on the house for my husband's special day. When Ben brought it out, the restaurant patrons sang happy birthday- so sweet to end a perfect night.
This is a wonderful restaurant and perfect for a special occasion or just a nice dinner. The service is exceptional and the food was too for the most part. The only issue we had was that the trout was too salty. I'm not sure if it was the preparation or the fish itself because it was an ocean trout. Highly recommend this place, just keep in mind it's toward the expensive side. If you're looking for great service, ambiance and food, you can't go wrong here.
We were in Breckenridge for a 7 day vacation where quality dining is always a high priority. This was by far the two best dinners of the week ( We ate the "take home" the next night!). Four different great meals, with delicious sides,; Mac and Cheese, Creamed Corn, Mushrooms. The service was high quality with a fine tuned team working together to service our table. Our only wish is that we had the recipes so we can try to replicate the food now that we are back home.
